BronxRik
He'll ride those 2 SB wins/MVP's (and possibly a 3rd) into The Hall, 1st ballot.

gmenroc
The 3rd SB would seal it. The debate is whether or not the defense was the primary reason for winning those SBs given it was the Patriots offense/Tom Brady that dominated the headlines going into both games. Personally, given he's kinda leveled off or even regressed in some ways, I think 1st ballot isn't as much a given as it was a few years ago. If he even gets to the SB one more time, I think he seals the 1st ballot...depending on who retires the same year he does. I mean, if he and Brady retire the same year, Brady is getting in for sure, eliminating a spot for Eli. And Brady is just one that could retire the same year. Nas
While not elite and very hard to argue against the 2 trophies and the 2 SB MVPs (against the Patriots no less), his stellar record of consecutive games played (knock on wood) all but assures him HOF... first ballet or not. CrazedDogs
No NFL MVPs to his name will be a ding against him, but everybody who watched the 2011 Giants, and the playoffs in particular, knows who the real MVP that season was. HOF in my book, for sure.
K3VIN
The odd case about Eli is he is essentially the opposite of post QBs, i.e Phillip Rivers( Strong Reg Season and Lacking in the Playoff).

The iron man will get him in baring any change. He's already 8th in yards and will be 6th by the end of the year. If he plays into his 40s he'll pass Marino. It's going to be impossible to keep out a top 5 QB with 2 SB MVPs out. Maybe not first ballot but he'll be in. Also for all the love Rivers and Roethlisberger get Eli has move yards, completions and TDs.
Bigblue25
Terrell Davis is getting in this year and has played three full seasons, OK maybe those seasons he was good but he's 55th in career rushing yards. Running back is also the most run of the mill position Davis getting opens the door for a dozen or more other RB's. In regards to this article if Davis is in because of 2 rings Eli should be
Firstnten
Who is arguing? I took a bunch of flack last year on how Manning sucked and the oline was not to blame. I'm actually surprised by the posts.

I don't think there is must argument there either. Manning fucked the dog last year, or just his wife, either way Manning decision making was god awful and he still cant throw consistently throw a pass that doesnt sail on the WR. But he wins games..... most of the time, only when it matters really ala the playoff games.

Dragon
While defense certainly played a huge part, it's hard to argue against the clutch performance by Eli.... the Catch 1.0 and the Catch 2.0... What aggravated me about this whole debate is the talk about the defense and those 2 plays. Everyone points out Tyree's catch and forgets Eli avoided 3 sacks just to get that pass off. And the Manningham play was literally the most perfect, frozen rope pass I've ever seen from Eli. Regarding the defense, we get the Eli haters swearing it was all defense, but forget 2011's d was ranked in the 20s (27th iirc) and that same defense allowed Brady to set a consecutive completions record in the Super Bowl. CrazedDogs
Eli in 2011 is my favorite QB performance ever. He had basically two weapons, a shit OL, and little defensive support. The season stats weren't historical, but by the eye it was one for the ages. The NFC championship game v. SF, I don't know how he did it.

That's the only logical explanation. The entire time that NFCCG was going on I was thinking that he was losing years from his life.

They were talking about this on ESPN radio the other day, I as a Giants fan have always considered him HOF, but the fact he is in top 10 all time passing yards has to seal the deal and shut up all the haters. Plus take into account that he is basically the poster boy for how an NFL player should conduct himself both on and off the field, he's a lock.
