UK-Giantsfan Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 wow i'm shocked .....but it is probably the right move ( lets hope that JJ Watt hasn't seen any tape on Chad Wheeler )
CrazedDogs Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 ....And that was the moment I knew we were headed for a 3 win season. Hope I am wrong, but Wheeler was abysmal this preseason, far worse than Flowers, from what I saw. He looked bad against backups.
BlueInCanada Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Maybe Wheeler has a better understanding of the assignments. Lord knows that Flowers hasnt learned a thing his entire career.
UK-Giantsfan Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 thanks again Jerry Fucking Reese ! ( starting a 2nd string RT against Clowney and Watt scares the shit out of me .........but i suppose time is up for Ereck ) . i suppose we will still end up seeing Flowers today as a jumbo tight end ....so we will probably still hear " Holding ....number 74 Offense " at some point anyway
BlueInCanada Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Hot cakes; Wheeler is a better RT than Flowers.
CrazedDogs Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 It's amazing the difference so far. Watt did school Wheeler with a ridiculous swim move, hopefully that was Wheelers only lol moment of the day.
Herc Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Hot cakes; Wheeler is a better RT than Flowers. Thank god
CrazedDogs Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 well I stand corrected.... Wheeler is clearly superior to Flowers. Not sure when that happened, but I'm glad to see it.

Watt. If Ereck Flowers had done that everyone would (rightfully) be screaming for him to be benched. Truth is Wheeler did as good a job as could be expected on Watt in the first half. Showed a lot of potential.

TrashTalker92 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 If it was Flowers, he would have given 10 sacks.
Tempest Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 If it was Flowers, he would have given 10 sacks. That is the prevailing logic of the fans.
K3VIN Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I rather I guy out their giving it his all then a lazy SOB killing the team
Nas Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I rather I guy out their giving it his all then a lazy SOB killing the team Agreed. Besides.. this was Wheeler's first start no? And JJ Watt is a beast anyway...
Herc Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Yesterday is exactly what I was hoping for this season. Bad at times but giving him space at other times. Enough so that we can give our playmakers some chances. Our offense will be good as long as the line is league average
boohyah Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 They created a pocket for him and the play timing was so much better this week.
Storm Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Moving Manning around helps. Also helps that Manning was actually stepping up rather than trying to spin out of pass rushes coming up field from the ends.
hlb37 Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Part of it is coach sending a message to the whole unit. Couple this with dumping Smith after is horrible outing in Dallas seems to have been the right move. We are still very much a work in progress but a lot of positives yesterday.
