When's the last time we've developed a player in the last 10 years?

Outside of Thomas, have we had a Giants player, free agent or draft pick actually improve their play the last 10 years?

Matt Peart is the new Herny, Herny is just Herny.

Golladay who was the best WR in free agency doesn't have a TD.

Our first round pick who was touted as a playmaker doesn't have a TD.

Jones has regressed since his rookie year.

None of the pass rushers have worked out.

Gates I suppose was picking up his play but he may never play again on that leg.

When have the Giants actually taken a player and made them better?

I think Amukamara here was a solid starter and had a solid nfl career.

Hankins and Pugh too.

Kennard(dude).

Shep the problem is just injuries, not lack of development.  Tomlinson developed too.

I feel like Pugh and Hankins got better once they were off the Giants.

Kennard as well improved post Giants.

Tomlinson I'll give you that but he isn't with the Giants anymore.

Shep really didn't develop though he's still the same player he always was put of the draft.

I just mean when's the last time a player actually improved when they were with the Giants.

Just seems like most other teams can bring in free agents and make them better, or take a draft pick and elevate their play.

I guess OBJ when I think about it he improved with the Giants.

We seem like a death sentence franchise for any FA.

I feel like the players I mentioned did get better during their time with the giants.

Just my memory of it.

With that said,

Even if I’m completely correct, that’s not nearly enough.

Yeah your right about Pugh he did improve he was just always hurt.

The Cardinals are getting the benefits of it.

I guess that's my point.

These last 10 years we've failed to acquire and or development talent.

Leonard Williams is better now than when we got him.

He just costs more now.

He had his 11 sack year, other than that his stats are on par and his play is on par with the Jets.

Aldrick Rojas went from shitty kicker to pro bowl.

We just couldn't round out his social skills.

I don't know what you mean by "went from"

The Giants were the first team he ever kicked for lol

Landon Collins got better then levelled out.

Collins had one good year and was overrated the rest, he's the safety version of Leonard Williams.

I'm glad the Redskins over paid for him.

Is the question how many years were they good or did they improve from when we got them?

Leonard Williams is better with us than he was with the Jets. You're harping on his salary, again the question was did they improve?. Did he have 11 sacks any season as a Jet?

Aldrick Rojas went literally from worst kicker in the league to next season Pro bowl.

Landon Collins got better from his rookie year. Again you're harping on overated. Perhaps, but that wasn't the question.

Eli, Diehl, Tiki....but to your point...it is rare

Ultimately it’s a team sport… hard to shine when most of your teammates suck.   The reason players tend to do better somewhere else is exactly that…. Tom Brady would have sucked on this team.

See I would agree but even bad teams have developed talent.

Look at Washington.

Scary Terry he's a third round pick who's a top WR threat in the NFL now.

They turned Gibson from a WR out of college into a starting RB in the NFL.

Not to mention what they did with Flowers.

Ryan Kerrigan was one of the best pass rushers in the NFL with Washington.

Montez Sweat has become a top pass rusher as well the last two years.

These were all players in the last 5+ years.

Good observations.

Although Scary Terry was Scary Terry in college too, not sure how he fell that far. A lot of subtlety to his game that translates so well to the league.

not sure there's a single developmental player we can point to that the Giants coached up in the post Coughlin era.

There's no question our coaches have been awful post Coughlin... even Coughlin's went to shit after the last SB... granted he had atrociously bad GM (drafts).

I'd just like to just add that I'm fully confident that Evan Engram, Barkley, and maybe even Daniel Jones will go on to have great post-Giants careers once they leave the Giants (but they'll be mediocre as long as they're here).

Maybe even Will Hernandez will figure it out as well, but that's a bit of a stretch.

I could see Barkley turning it around, but Engram isn't going to give you much more than his rookie season production, IMO.

I could see Hernandez pulling a Scott Gragg and going somewhere else to have a good career.
