  1. I dont mean to sound like a dick, but if theres anyone on here that could be one, its me. Ive been playing/been around baseball my entire life
  2. against a free swinging team thats never seen him before.....and it only took him 124 pitches...Im not impressed
  3. hahahaha Yanks 09 rotation Santana Wang Hughes Sabathia Chamberlain
  4. I can't tell where we are. But in another 4 weeks we'll know. The starting pitching problem we ironed out by signing Roger. The bullpen issue in some ways to overblown. Proctor hasn't given up a run in his last 5 appearances. Farnsworth is Farsworth - he will give you 70-80% quality appearances. He is who he is. I'm not ready to write Mo off yet. I think we'll be okay if we cycle in arms that perform; we have guys like Britton who are in the wings and Rasner, etc, will become spare arms. I'd like to see Joe have arms that go out there and can go 2IP. Johnny D can hit when he's healthy. But that's not too often with his fragile body and kamikaze play. Jason's heel is something to be concerned about; outside of ARod, he's our main source of power. Matsui still has a 0.394 OBP. But I brought up age as a major issue, and if performance is falling off because of it, we're screwed. In terms of competitiveness, Boston is playing really good ball right now and they've opened up a healthy lead. However, Schilling, Beckett and Wakefield are due for a statistical correction. Dmats is half full or half empty. Boston fans say if he figures out the strike zone, look out. I say once the hitters see him enough and figure out his strike zone, look out. And they don't have a #5. Okajima has been stellar, but he has had an ERA >4 in 2 of his last 4 years in Japan. There is one common theme on the Boston team - a lot of those guys are either old or haven't played that much, so they are not built for the second half (Youkilis, Lowell). The key thing this month is cut the lead to 6 games. If it grows to 10, we could be in trouble. Personally, I look at their starting 8 and think WTF, how are they piling up runs with 3 0.700 OPS hitters and a lead-off batter with a 0.340 OBP. Keep in mind that the goal is to get to the post season. We're 4.5 games back in the wildcard. The goal is to get to the post season and unleash Wang, Roger, Andy and Hughes. So it's good to be concerned, especially with our BRUTAL upcoming schedule( White Sox, Mets, Red Sox, Angels) but I wouldn't quite push the panic button. In 4 weeks we'll know where we stand.
  5. Suppan blows, for the love of God tattoo him tomorrow
  6. whats up with Tuck, is he ever going to be able to play mmore than 5 games in a season?
  7. cutting luke was one of the dumbest moves Ive ever seen by a football team...........hmm, we have a young quarterback that still hasnt found his way yet, let get rid of the veteren RT and replace him with a guard....brilliant
  8. MLB isnt going recognize it...its still a milestone for Hedeki, his 2000th professional hit...I agree with you that Kay is a jackass, but I doubt he is even moronic enough to believe that MLB will recognize it...but then again, we are talking about Michael kay
  9. it was a mistake pitch, he was still brilliant
  10. love john maine, he is doing wonders for my fantasy team
  11. Ive been there many times(mostly business related in recent years, but I used to visit my friends in college in Boston too and Ive also gone to a few games at fenway) and I cant stand it. Its a very boring city to me. My feelings about the city have nothing to do with the red sox..I guess Im spoiled because Ive lived in NYC my whole life and no other city (in the US that Ive been to) comes close to the greatness in comparison.
  12. somebody should give some to Matsusuckass, maybe he'll be able to post a sub 5 era if he takes them.
  13. thats Daisuke era and whip...bwhahahahahaha.....at least we knew our Jap pitcher was going to blow.....but he did beat the Yankees 2 times...10 er in 13 IP against them...he's as much as a Yankee killer as Josh Blister....oh yeah...the sox are paying 57 million dollars this year for a guy with those numbers....he must be giving sox fans the BBlues.
  14. seriously, why would anyone want to wear anything that represents Boston? Im sure he hates trhe fact that he plays for the patriots because of the teams regional location. Sorry New Englanders, but Boston fucking blows. They dont even know what chocolate milk is.
  15. depends on how his realtionship was with EA...even so, EA should have extended hos contract before it even got that far........EA was not a good GM.
  16. gilbride has never has success in this league. I have no idea how he keeps getting jobs...let alone promotions. He's awful Seems like the entire defense had a problem with Tim Lewis........Lets take this time to thank Ernie Accorsi for letting John Fox walk. I dont know why he didnt tell him to stick around another year and that he was next. Instead he lets him walk and then his new team goes to the superbowl 2 years later, then EA hired Tom Coughlin and then Fox's team walks over our team in the playoffs 4 years later. EA was not a good GM
  17. wow, thats impressive...there were alot of great candidates for pitcher of the month in the NL...Im surprised Rich Hill wasnt mentioned
  18. I hear you...the thing is, I dont really have much confidence in Droughnes/Jacobs tandom...2 big power backs.. Plus I think Turner would be a superstar if he wanst on the same team as aruably the greatest running back in football history in his prime.
  19. Do you think we should have made a move for The Burner? We had a decent draft and we did pick up Drougns(sp), but Im still up in the air on whether or not we should have made a serious play for Turner......leaning more towards we should have gotten him regardless of what pick we would have had to give up. discuss
  20. they got fired...Big Stein still runs this bitch!!!!
