  1. A's and Yanks were about to pull the trigger on a Scott Proctor for Dan Johnson deal, but since Andy Phillips has been hitting, the parties havent spoken in a week.
  2. Joba Chamberlain he was the Yankees second pick of the draft in 2006. From the University of Nebraska. He was orignally going to be a top ten pick, but arm trouble in his junior year scared most teams off. The Yanks took a gambe on him. He won MVP of the Hawaiin league this past winter and domintated high A Tampa to begin this season prompting a promotion to AA Trenton when he continues to dominate. He's a 21 years old, Native American (looks caucasian), chubby kid that lights up the radar to the tune of 98mph. At this rate he will be in AAA by the end of the season and competeing for a starting job in the rotation in 2008, though Id ratehr see him start 08 is AAA and being a call up..preferably a September call up.
  3. I just picked up Troy Tulowitzski to have as insurance to a severly slumping JJ Hardy, I suggest you do the same for Young(if he is still available in your league)
  4. that is dominating the minor leagues even more than Phil Hughes did? Joba- 69 strike outs in 34 innings...thats fucking insane.
  5. never happen. however, I would trade Joba for Cabrera
  6. theyd be fools not to. Id gve him whatever he wants...and they might have to
  7. A-Rod is staying in the AL and most likely with the Yankees
  8. I heard they were going to trade for the human crash test dummy. I dont see that happeneing, as he is the dbacks best player, leading the team in every offensive category, and theyre only 3 games out of their division. But, he is a perfect fit for the mets, if he really is available, they should grab him as long as they dont have to give away too much. Id give them Heilman and Gomez or Mooledge...of course under the condition that he will sign an extension with them....I think he'd be a superstar in NY
  9. yesah, Im throwing in the towle...it was bound to happen eventually...but, the futer looks very bright, come 2010 Sanatan Highes Wang Chamberlain Kenney Closer Betances
  10. I wouldnt worry about the attitude, I havent heard a thing about him since he left LA, seems like he's grown up some ans is alot more behaved now. Fuck, I wish the Yankees would have gotten him
  11. Thats such a great move for the Padres, they desperately need offense and they just got a very good hitter, as well as defender for basically nothing. I wish the Yankees would have moved on him, not only could they use him defensivley, but surprisingly, they could use his offense as well as the yankee offense is nothing more than mediocre
  12. Im not saying SHea Hillenbrand is going to be our savior or even first baseman of the future, Im just saying as of right now, he is much better than our options. Ill take a guy who has consistanltly driven in 80+ runs as a starter over Miguel Cairo and Andy Phillips any day. In a perfect world, the Yanks would package Tyler Clippard, Eric Duncan and say a bullpen arm like Proctor or Vizcaino to the Dodgers for James Loney...but that will never happen
  13. If Shea Hillenbrand, Miguel "the midget" Cairo (who hasnt hit a home runs in like 3 years) and Andy "I can hit ML pitching" Phillips were all in a room and you could pick one to be your everyday first baseman, who do you chose? Like I said, I am not mad at this. He is a MAJOR uprgrade over our other choices(thats how bad our first base situation is).
  14. Accorind to Newsday, the ANgels are set to DFA Hillenbrand today and the Yankees have called to acquire. Im not mad at this
  15. other than the honkies and vizcaino, your assesment is correct
  16. unfucking believable!!!!!!!!!!! first michael barrett, now this. Im in a daze right now. nice win for you guys tonight, golf. Tom looked great
  17. its not really available, but of course thats the first priority...but, when a player of uncle milty's caliber becomes available for basically nothing and it does fill a need, you need to act on it
  18. I CAN see Girardi cracking the whip, he sure did in Florida, so much he cracked on the owner which lead to him being fired. He was constantly on his guys in the dugout. If the Yankees are going to go with Mattingly, they might as just stick with Torre, theyre the same person
  19. I hear what youre saying but he has been very well behaved since he left LA and I think that he'd be very happy to be on a team like the Yankees...the guy is definitley a competitor who wants to play and win badly and thats the Yankee way. He would have no problem with lack of playing time with us as he would start. With Giambi done for the season, the yanks can put him on the 60 day dl so they dont have to make a roster move, then move Matsui to dh, put Uncle Milty in left or center and have Melky go to the bench when Damon comes off the dl (assuming thats where he is headed, thats where he shoud be head in my opinion anyway). Its well worth the risk, which is a low risk in my opinion considering he has been out of the headlines since leaving LA. He will be our new Sheffield...the angry black dude.
  20. and make a deal for Uncle Milty. We can really use him
  21. yeah, I guess Cashman likes lifetime minor leaguers who post a 208 OPS in the majors better than a 28 year old major league all star. Im furious right now
