  1. did you watch the game? and did you read what I wrote? I said they were hitting him hard...JUST RIGHT AT PEOPLE. He didnt give up many hits because the balls they were tagging were being caught. As a hitter, all you can do is hit the ball hard...you have no control as to where its going.
  2. sad thing is, we could have and should have swept the mets too....oliver perez got very lucky in game one...the yankees hit him hard...just right at people, he wasnt fooling anyone...and then that punchin judy hitter hit a 2 run shot(the difference maker)...Saturday the Yanks lost their starter to inury in the first inning and lost 10-7...yankees win that if their sp doenst get injured in the first
  3. the percentages are exactly the same for both......if 43%of the people in yankee stadium were from nj, conn ect, that means 57% were from the 5 boro's....so what is your point?
  4. i think you might want to reread your post
  5. jeter has gotten a hit in 66 of his last 68 games....in fucking credible.
  6. like I said, he's a phenomenal talent. youd have to be an complete jackass to think Jeter was going to be a young player forever and that nobody else would ever be a great shortstop to play in NY. Its just a matter of opinion, theres no wrong or right answer....Yankees fans will say Jeter, Mets fan will say Reyes...this horse has been beaten to death, beaten after its beean dead, then shot, stabbed, burned, sodomized, decapitated, electrocuted...you see whre Im going.......... bottom line theyre top players at their positions and any other team would love to have either one of them.
  7. Im just being realistic....and since it will get coughlin fired if we only win 5 games, we might as well only win one and get the first overall pick int he draft for our new coaching staff
  8. its a senseless debate...but I know what you mean; 99% of the time its Mets fans that bring it up...thats the way it seems to me anyway
  9. this isnt a fair comparison...Jeter is 9 years older than Reyes. I love Reyes, I think he's a stud but comparing Jeter and Reyes is just ridiculous. Theyre 2 different types of players that happen to play the same position in the same city. I couldnt say who is better...but I will say this...The article says that Jose Reyes will be the best player in baseball soon...Derek Jeter has been the best player in baseball in 2 season......1999, 2006. Again, its still not fair to compare them and I refuse to even get into an arguement over it becauase its a moronic debate...lets just say theyre both super stars that any team would love to have over their current player at their posistion.
  10. I am cool with that...fuck it, 1-15 works for me in that case....lets face it, this team is not winning the superbowl this year
  11. but I dont know what Im talking about with my projections
  12. The bullpen really isnt that bad If Mo comes in 5 games and pitches 5 innings and gives up 0 runs versus coming ina pitching 1/3 of an inning and giving up 5 runs, then his ERA is 8.44. So does Mo suck or did he just have a bad day? A reliever comes in in one of 3 situations: a lead, behind or tied. If we use my criteria of quality appearance for a reliever which is: Lead: - does not give up a run - does not allow a lead to decrease <3 runs Tie - does not give up the go ahead run - gives up 1 run in >=3IP Behind - pitches to an ERA <3.5 Britton: 100% (only 2 appearances) Bruney: 90% Myers: 89.5% Proctor: 75% Farnsworth: 75% Henn: 75% (12 out of 16) Mo: 71% Vizcaino: 57.9% A good reliever should do 80%. Vizcaino is embarassing and I have no idea why he's still with the team and not in AAA or DFA'd...Chris Britton is a MUCH better option. I guess Cashman needs to show they got something more than a bag of balls for Randy Johnson.
  13. I hear you, I didnt want him rushed either, but he's our best option and he does have the stuff to be a factor. he is a question amrk, but I feel like he will do well......only time will tell
  14. you wont get an arguememet from me...I agree 100% the yankees age is haunting them this year more than ever..Posada is the only oe that seems to get better with age. he really doesnt get enough recognition
  15. ha. Im not sure if Mets know that Yankee fans cant stand Suzyn Waldman
  16. Yes, but you were comparing him to Roger Clemens. And Meche and Lilly are both having MUCH better seasons than Matsuzaka and will contimue to
  17. wow, thats all i can say. I remeber when he was called up last year and they were interviewing his parents in the stands....the apple has not fallen far from the tree...complete trash
  18. the sox are paying 57 million dollars for him this season
  19. Ive said this about him well before the sox won the bid for him so my red sox bias has nothing to do with my opinion of his ability. When its all said and done, he will be nothing more than a number 3 starter.
  20. i know, buts its still money spent on him
  21. you have to include the posting fee as part of his contract
  22. Then you should know that he projects to be a number 3 starter in this league...good, but not great and certainly not worth the money or the hype.
