  1. wang is emerging as an ace. if you throw hard and keep the ball low, you will have success
  2. cash abused him, I dont know what you guys are talking about. He basically said to russo...Im the gm of the worlds greatest sports franchise and you get paid to argue with morons on the radio...you couldnt shine my shoes bitch
  3. Id run for Mod, but Im not here often enough to monitor it. But I am the smartest baseball man here
  4. well, since he's been promoted to AA Trenton(a MUCH tougher league than high A and some can argue, with validity, its better than AAA) he's been just ok in his fisr few starts....but in his last two he has been lights out. His line from last night looks like this... 7.1 IP, 1H, 8K, 3 BB. His early struggles were to be expected, but this kid is the real deal. Also, some of you here may have never heard of him, but Eric Abreu is back bitch!!! He was the Yankees top pitching prospect before they had Hughes, he's a 22 year old Venezuelan that is a strike out machine. He's been out since 2004 with an injury and he also had some growing up to do(many said he was uncoachable). At the beginning of this season, he was nowhere to be found and without a team. Then he finally contacted the Yanks and he started to throw in EST. He is now with Low A Charleston. His fast ball is sitting at 89 right now, he used to throw 94-96, but keep in mind he's coming back from a very serious injury and he hasnt pitched in almost 2 years. His arm strength and velocity will come back as he throws more....but the amazing thing is...he is still striking everyone out. His line from his last start for Low A Charleston 4.1 IP 2BB 7K's 0ER. He could move very quickly.
  5. everyone needs to calm down. Alex is going to be fine. He was league MVP last season for christs sake and was player of the month in May(just a few eeks ago). Plus he's been ill. Cut the guy some slack. All this A-Rod bashing is really starting to piss me off. Fucking moron fans booing him, likes that going to fix him. Jackasses
  6. I said the same thing, actually this is exactly what I said. "This is not good, it reminds me of 2004. We had all the momentum..and then the rain came
  7. 81 pitches when youre Jaret Wright and struggled the inning before is a red flag. As for the rest of your post, Im going to give you the benefit of the doubt and take it as a joke. You cant possibly mean any of that
  8. I guess you didnt read the rest of my posts. And with all due respect Motes, you dont know anything about baseball.
  9. Nice job handing the red sox a win last night Joey. How fucking stupid is this guy. First of all, Wright should have been pulled the second he walked Manny to lead off the 6th. His pitch count was high and he showed that he had was losing it in the 5th inning. Then, after he allows Wright to load the bases with no outs(already allowing one run in), he brings in Proctor a guy with a knack for blowing tight games...especially tight games against the red sox. Guess what he did? After giving up a sac fly to tie the game(I cut him slack on that one, he did come in with the bases juiced and no out), he gives up a double to the worst hitter in baseball not named Tony Womack or Juan Pierre. Just when you think Joey 4 Rings couldnt fuck this game up any more, guess what he does? He has Proctor start the next inning with Big Sloppy leading off and Trot "my manager benches me when we face a left handed pitcher because I cant hit lefties at all" Nixon due up 2 batters later. Now Joe, I know that you dont want to burn Mike Meyers out, I mean he is on pace to pitch an unheard of 29 inning this season. But what the fuck? Didnt we get him to get out lefties? And with 2 of the first three batters being lefties youd think he would have started the inning. But no, Torre leaves in Proctor who give up 3 run jack. Keep in mind the game was only 4-3 before that. Now with the game 7-3(still not too far out of reach), he brings in Scott Erickson...thats right..SCOTT FUCKING ERICKSON. Guess what he did? Promptly got shelled for 2 more runs. At that point the game is out of reach. Thanks Joe. Poor Ron Villone, he doesnt get rocked nearly enough for Joey 4 Rings to use him.
  10. everything changes?? Thats completely the point of this thread. There have been an abundance of pitchers who have thrown great games against the Yankees(in the post season too)...why are they not Yankee killers? The guy has faced the Yankees 4 times in career and has a 2-2 record. Did Beckett shut down the Yankees in the WS? Yes. Did the Yankees beat Beckett in the WS? Yes. Has Josh Beckett beaten the Yankees this season? Yes. Have the Yankees beaten Beckett this season? Yes. Lets stop the nonsense.
  11. I hear ya, but he's been ok this season, he needs to be more consistant. But in his defense, its not like Manny is a shitty hitter like Angel Berroa
  12. how am I being a hyprocrite? I would never call a guy who has faced the Red Sox 2 times in his career a with a 1-1 record a Red Sox killer.
  13. lets be fair, this is the first time he's gotten significant, consistant playing time. Try not playing for a week or 2 and then get in there are try to hit, its very hard. He's absolutely mashed AAA pitching for the past 3 season, the guy can hit when given the chance to play consistantly. 280-300, 20-25 and 80 is not only possible, but its probable.
  14. 1-1 10.80 ERA in 2006 vs NY Yankees. I wish more teams had Yankee killers on their staffs.
  15. Yes, I do like farns and I think he has great stuff, but lately, he's been shit. I just get frustrated with him because he could be so nasty at times and he has such great potential...you cant teach 97+. He is a good pitcher and he can do well, I just hope he figures it all out soon and becomes more consistant. The stuff is there every time out, the command isnt. I think he needs to throw more warm ups or something.
  16. I agree and disagree. Theres nothing more that I would love to see than the "horrible Yankees farm" players do well(as they are doing). But when youre the Yankees, youre expected to win now and although the kids are playing great, the lack of experience will pay its toll. Now they do have enough veteran talent mixed in with Damon, Jeter, Alex, Po and Jason, but theyre old and if Rivera is hurting himself putting on his shoes we have to be concerned about the health of the other guys. Even though Jeter, ALex and Damon are failry young, they all, with the exception of Alex, have been out with very strange injuries.
  17. he's not the answer and he's a horrible hitter(one of the worst Ive ever seen in my life). Bringng up Durazo and letting Kevin Thopson man RF is a much better option
  18. Now that Sheffield is probably going to be out for the season along with Matsui, thats over 220 RBI's to make up for.....what are you trade suggestions..if any at all. Keep in mind the Yanks could also use a pitcher Id stick with Melky in left, but he's not going to give you 100 RBI's like Matsui. Id be willing to give up Eric Duncan and Tyler Clippard for Abreu or one prospect and pick up his contract, but certainly not both. And Id only make that trade because we're pretty desperate. Id look into Craig Wilson too. We could probably get him on the cheap and he is arguably a better hitter than Pat Burrell. That brings me to Pat Burrell. Id give them a lower prosoect and cash..thats it. Soriano is another option and being that Jim Bowden in the Nats GM we could probably get him for Carlos Pena and Terrence Long. Id stay away from Shannon Stewart because we need a power hitting, run producing corner outfielder and Stewart is not that. Pitching...Again Id look to take advantage of Bowden and go with Livan Hernandez. Id be willing to gvem them Austin Jackson and Rasner back for him. Another option I would do in a heartbeat is Cano for Willis, if the Marlins agree, I pull the trigger(even though I dont think Willis is that great, its easier to replace a second baseman, than to get a young lefthanded pitcher that has domianted).
  19. how to do get a quadriplegic to walk? Put him in the batters box with Farnsworthless on the mound. The guy has no control and his 96-100 mph fastball is as flat as an asian womans ass. He's a HORRIBLE pitcher.
  20. Even if he comes back half as good as he was, Id rather have him in there than Kyle Farnsworthless. The Farns is complete garbage
  21. imagine the Yanks record if they played in the AL central
  22. about 5 years ago Matt Morris had the filthiest stuff in baseball. He threw wiffle balls
  23. Just when I thought it couldnt get any better than the WBC Italy thing, he goes and yells at Joey 4 Rings in the middle of an inning for all to see. Bravo Mike, bravo . That was hysterical. I love Mussina, the things he says are so fucking funny. He is so smart alot of people dont get his humor/sarcasm, but if you do, the guy is hilarious.
  24. He was going to his right and backing up, it would have extremely tough to make a strong thorw to home
