  1. very speedy runner on third, not worth the risk on a run that would only tie the game...if it was the go ahead run, its a different story. Thats just another small thing he does that makes Jeter so great. 10 out of 11 SS would go home on that play...not Jeter he knows that having the game tied with 2 outs is a hell of alot better than games tied, bases loaded, no outs
  2. Melky is 21 years old, Bubba is 30 years old...any questions?
  3. they traded Mirabelli to the Padres in the off season for Mark Loretta...he wasnt a FA who signed elsewhere, he was traded by the sox and then they traded again to get him back.
  4. I think its safe to say that Omar fucked up by trading Benson
  5. he has faced the Yankees 3 times in his career and is 2-1. I think they have to see eachother a bit more before one can say he owns them.
  6. THEYRE GREAT MOVES!!!! With the additions of Hidalgo and Durazo our bench goes from complete shit to decent but still a bit shitty
  7. Yes, but they could have still had all these guys right now. The Mets have made some bad moves in recent year...I guess theyre following the Yanks lead
  8. Just think what the Mets rotation would be right now if not for Phillips, Douchequette and a dash of Minaya...... Pedro Glavine Kazmir Heilman Benson Thats fierce....its even more scary that they would all be ptiching in the nAAAAtional league Oh, Yankees sweep
  9. I agree with xxi, Mo was the league MVP last season as well as Cy Young. Smalls, my man. You should know this as youre a Yankee fan, Mo always goes through a mild stretch where he gives up a few runs in a few outings. If youve noticed, his mph is cosistantly 94-95, his cutter just isnt biting that hard right now, but even still the hits he has been giving up have been 99% bloops or broken bat look what I founds. At this time last season his numbers were extremely similar.
  10. wah wah wah, I dont have any blisters. Shut the fuck up. Im not talking to you guys for the rest of the season.
  11. 1. Starts Bubba Crosby over Melky Cabrera 2. Matsui gets hurt, moves Bubba to LF, brings in Bernie to play RF. Bernie continues to embarrass himself with a ridiculous defensive mistake which leads to the loss. 3. Starts a non-hitting Miguel Cairo at first base, who also happens to be a midget who can't handle a high throw from Jeter. 4. Does not pinch hit for Cairo in the bottom of the 8th with the tying run on third base. Chalk up another one for Joey 4 Rings
  12. Just a fan favorite because he's a goofy white kid.
  13. With Carl Pavano and Octavio Dotel due back in a month, Torre said he plans to DFA Mariano Rivera and send The Farns to AA Tampa to make room.
  14. Its total bullshit, but in all fairness to Angel, veteran pitchers with border line HOF credentials always get better calls from the umps...but I thouhgt it was an unspoken rule amongst players and umps. MLB should defintiely look into this
  15. Yeah, Joe Torre got the nickname Clueless Joe(well before he was the Yankees manager) because he's a genius. And his success with the Yankees doesnt have anything to do with the players he's had/has and the owner willingness to spend and win at any cost. Negro please. Why dont you take a look at managerial his record before he inherited the best team in baseball with the best owner. Im not saying that Joe isnt good at all aspects of managing. He's a wizzard with the media, he keeps all the big ego's in check, the players love to play for him and he handles Big Stein very well. But as far as his in game management...especially bullpen, he's one of the worst Ive ever seen. Joe Torre managed for 18 years prior to coming to the Yankees. He had 5 winning seasons in 18 years, making the playoffs only once...that fucking blows
  16. Looks like Joey 4 Rings will never learn. STOP FUCKING USING TANYON STURTZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess Joey isnt aware that he has a guy named Ron Villone who has always been a quality relief pitcher as well as spot starter on his team. Not to mention he has been throwing the ball very well this season in his incredibly limited use.
  17. VG, I bet youre happy that washed up pitcher Mike Mussina is going tonight with his 4-1 record and 2.31 ERA
  18. since Oritz hit that home run the beaten dead horse debate of who deserved the 2005 AL MVP has ressurected. I will simply break it down like this.........I have been a fan of baseball my enitre life and I never knew the MVP award should be awarded the the best hitter in close and late game situations, its never been metnion before last season actually. With that said, if the MVP award was based soley on thatm then yes, David Ortiz was a bit better. But its not. And another fact is that even if Alex was a full time dh like Ortiz, he still had a better season and he helped his team win d the division, not the wild card(which up until 12 years ago didnt exist). Ok, Im done
  19. maybe he should change his song. Its an omen to be closer in NY and come in to enter sandman if your name isnt Mariano. Dont pull on Supermans cape
  20. Tony Womack is one of the worst baseball players to ever put on a major league uniform(along with ex Met Butch Husky), Bernie Williams is now one of the worst players in baseball. Get it?
  21. Bernie Williams hasnt played since 2004. Bernie Womack is the guy who now wears 51 for the Yankees.
