I just hope that Spags moves onto a stable organization and not these perennial losers.

Gun laws in New York City are ridiculous. There is a very short list of people in NYC that can carry a concealed handgun legally. I'm not advocating Burress gets a pass, I'm just saying he shouldn't lose his job for trying to protect his life and possessions.

Without a doubt, he is going to get suspended for at least one game by the league because he is going to get charged with the weapon possession charge and I would not be surprised if Pierce gets hit with a weapons charge as well for taking it to NJ after the incident. With that being said, I don't believe he should get cut because of this incident. Now if the team is looking for the reason to cut him so they can save some cash, well then I'd have to wonder if Dolan is running the Giants. Burress didn't shoot anyone but himself which is dumb, but I absolutely understand his need to protect himself. Sean Taylor was at home in bed, Darrent Williams was in a limo after a New Year's Eve party. NFL players are being targeted and they have as much of a right to protect themselves as anyone else. Quite simply, he's a very good linebacker. The best we've had in years. If we didn't pay Antonio Pierce to start, Blackburn would and the defense wouldn't miss a beat. He is not the best MLB in the game but considering what the Giants require for LB, Blackburn has done what the team has asked.

Teams are reluctant to place kickers and punters on the practice squad due to limited space. Its better to release them. If another team wants him, there really is nothing the Giants can do except keep him on the active roster which they will not.

Well, I wanted Carney back when the Saints released him last season and we ended up with Tynes. Safe to say that Carney is gone when Tynes comes back after the bye. Carney has been dependable for us and could probably keep on kicking in this league for another two seasons if any reasonably intelligent organization will pick him up.
