  1. Nope, Toomer is done and everyone in the NFL knows it including Toomer. BTW, this hindsight view of Gibril Wilson and especially Kawika Mitchell is laughable. Considering what Gibril Wilson signed for when he left the Giants last year, it is still a smart move. Letting Kawika Mitchell leave? Do you remember we picked him up and made him into a great free agent signing a year later. Do you remember we had this young fast talented linebacker named Gerris Wilkinson that we felt needed more experience but would be an upgrade after Kawika Mitchell finished his one year contract? Turns out Gerris Wilkinson can't stay healthy and we were very lucky that Bryan Kehl was drafted. The problem wasn't that we let Mitchell go, it is that Wilkinson can't stay healthy.
  2. Amazing how Webster went from Bust to Stud within the span of a season and Ross is now just really good.
  3. Regardless of the pros and cons, possibly the worst endorsement came a few days ago when Kiper said Britt would be perfect for the Giants.
  4. That would have been a 15 yard penalty if a WR got hit like that.
  5. I'll believe it when I see it. These guys are always gun-ho when they are asked if they are ready, especially after coming back from an injury. Real test is the start of the season in Sept.
  6. Giants aren't interested in re-signing him.
  7. Ward hit on Rivers Well take a look at this and tell me which way you think Rivers was looking.
  8. Well that Blind side hit by Ward which I also believe they are calling the Hines Ward rule, just happened to have broken Keith Rivers' jaw. That is a good one that should be added. There is nobody more protected than a QB on an NFL field. The day when the sack is illegal is coming very soon.
  9. Maybe I just don't see what you guys see in Britt. I just don't think he's a first round talent. Receivers dropped out of the first round last year and I see that trend continuing this year. Out of all the teams you mentioned, Baltimore is the only one that I can see drafting a WR. Philly needs an OT, Indy needs defense, and so does Miami. If Nicks is there for us at 29, I'd take him over Britt.
  10. If you can look at Crabtree and say he's in the same league as Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson, then hell lets put a package together to move up. Nobody is saying that, they're just saying Crabtree is the best receiver in the draft and that belief is fine at the college level but not a guarantee at the NFL level. Giants are better off staying put and drafting Nicks in the first or Britt in the second.
  11. I realize that if you equate where you draft someone to some statistical expectation you expect the player to achieve. Ridiculous to lump Hilliard in with the likes of Sinorice Moss or Tim Carter.
  12. Ike Hilliard is not a bust, far from it. Say it would have been better had the Giants drafted Toomer in the first and Hilliard in the second. Ike Hilliard didn't have the picture perfect NFL career with pro bowls and healthy seasons but he made plays, moved the chains and was one of the brighter spots on a roster that actually had busts.
  13. We've got a great youth movement going on in the secondary and we just don't need him.
  14. Yeah that is intriguing but I think Cutler winds up with the Jets at this point.
  15. Mentioning Heyward-Bey in the same breath as Gholston is enough to worry me. We need football players who catch and can play 16 games. I like the size of Kenny Britt and the big play ability of Hakeem Nicks. Nicks would be my choice if he fell to us in the first round and I would take Britt with our early second round pick but not with first round.
  16. I doubt it. If good old common sense has had no impact, I'd wonder how can the economy. Organizations are still looking at this as some kind of investment that may have higher returns in the future. Nobody seems to be willing to restructure how these NFL draftees get paid.
  17. Whats with the linebacker in the first round?
  18. If they beat them now I'm sure the Giants would have released them outright. And the douche of a reporter who wrote this some how neglected to mention that the teams they were with when these events occurred had no problem with these crimes and kept them on the roster. I guess its only a problem when the NY Giants sign them and not when they are with their former teams.
  19. To be a number two you have to make the receptions and handle the competition. Hixon doesn't have it. He is a number 3 that excels against inferior dime backs. It was not one drop, it was a series of them and the inability to shake the better corners in the league. Hell, they ran the routes better than he did.
  20. Well if he doesn't turn Edwards into a basket case, this is going to work out well.
  21. statistics statistics statistics. They will make you look like a genius and a fool. Giants couldn't get anything going against philly in that playoff game but we saw 4 previous games that the Giants lost that could have been won. We saw Eli Manning running a QB sneak for a fourth down conversion; one of only two they attempted all season. I believe you shouldn't have an offensive coordinator who can pick the plays according to statistics. You pick your plays according to what is working now and what is not. Eli was not having a great day yet we kept on putting it in his hands hoping to get him started. We couldn't stretch the field and had a rough time running the ball on third downs. It was a game we could have given every single one of our running backs 30 carries. Run it every damn down and then throw the ball when they had ten guys on the line because we didn't have a receiver worth his weight. Sacking Donovan McNabb is not easy, he's a linebacker with an arm. If you rely on sacking McNabb to win the game then you might as well forfeit.
  22. I'm very disappointed my choices weren't up there because I can think of at least two other places he could wind up. 1. The Circus 2. The next celebrity reality television show on fox Sure he could wind up in Washington but wouldn't make it through the season without a blowup. Seattle would be a better fit because they like to throw it around.
  23. It all depends on who they are targeting. Giants are still going for a WR, draft or otherwise. Hixon is not a number 2.
  24. Torry Holt is looking at the market and wants to cash in. Rams are rebuilding and it was time to jump ship.
