  1. That's a shame if it's true but not surprising in the least. It really shouldn't get in the way of us signing him though. If there's players that might be uncomfortable that's too fucking bad you're 0-2 homophobe privileges have been revoked.
  2. if its causing that much confusion and leading to all of these mistakes then they need to change the offense. Whether that's simplifying things I don't know but there's no reason for this to be happening with the receivers we have. Eli and the offense looked like shit in the preseason and while id usually ignore that its obviously carried over. I'm really concerned. We are getting completely bitched out at the line of scrimmage. We retooled the interior of the defensive line but other than that this is the same defense as last year and I don't see any playmakers. We've already used up our leash with a must win already in week 3 but right now I see a team that's one year older and slower than last season and I'm not sure there's a fix coming. We tried to "turn it on" last year against Atlanta and Baltimore and got our shit pushed in. We're still working with the same guys. I have to start seriously considering the idea that this team as constructed is out of time in terms of being a contender. We've been spoiled with consistently competitive football deep into the season so maybe we're due for a bad one.
  3. If Mcgahee checks out I hope they go with him. He's a solid vet and should help in short yardage but he's certainly not a savior. The running game is only going where Wilson takes it. If he winds up struggling further we'll probably just have a bad year.
  4. This is the most talented and explosive offense Eli has ever had to work with. He "should" have a lot of success this season and if he doesn't we're not going anywhere I think it's that simple. I just don't see the significant improvement on defense we needed so we'll probably see them show up one week and disappear the next as usual. You hate to put any more weight on your quarterbacks shoulders than there already is but I really think it's all on Eli this season.
  5. Good. We have our slot position covered for the foreseeable future. I hope Nicks is pissed off and motivated that he's still waiting on a deal. Hopefully he comes out hungry and plays with a chip on his shoulder. Whether Hakeem stays here longterm or not we still have Cruz, Nicks, and Randle together for another year so I'm not going to worry about the contract situations until it's absolutely necessary.
  6. Let's allow Griffin to play a few more years before the coronation. If he can stay healthy I think he's going to be a very good player and win a lot of games in this league. Part of being great though is the ability to be out there every Sunday. I think it's going to remain a major concern with him not only because of how he plays, but his build. He's a track athlete playing quarterback.
  7. Oh he's really dumb. So is Pac Man Jones. I don't get it either. How someone who is essentially living a fantasy and won't have to work another day in his life if he could just avoid being an asshole can be so cavalier and reckless with their opportunity. It pisses me off actually.
  8. Do whatever you want Victor. You're the one playing for a contract.
  9. Yeah that's a good question I wonder that myself. Fuck this blows I can't expect much from him this season as gifted an athlete as he is.
  10. If the changes we made on the line work out and Tuck shows he can still play we might be ok, at least from a run stopping standpoint. Hopefully Jenkins and Hankins can take on the blocks last years unit couldn't and allow our linebackers to make some plays before a back is 5 yards past the line of scrimmage. Fish is right though these guys aren't playmakers. Maybe one of them will come out and surprise us with a big season but it'd be nice to at least have some certainty and confidence there.
  11. That was definitely part of the problem. Teams realize he's the most dangerous player on defense now so he's going to have to learn how to beat the extra attention if he wants to be a big time player in this league. I'm giving the whole team a mulligan for last year because no one really played well but I'm counting on Pierre-Paul to have a big season. If not, we're in trouble.
  12. Maybe we'll find an undrafted free agent, or after some cuts are made a good returner will become available. I just know that after watching Wilson, I don't want to go backwards with the return game. We were actually getting good field position for a change last season. I'd like to have a guy who's actually a threat back there. If a seldom used Scott or Jernigan can fill the void great, at least we'd be getting some use out of them.
  13. Yeah, I agree. The Giants will keep him fresh and have a nice rotation with Joseph, Jenkins, Hankins, and I guess Patterson or Kuhn right now. I have no idea where Austin fits in. I'm still a little disappointed about the linebacker situation but the Giants at least recognize the importance of restoring our integrity against the run with this pick. I like it.
  14. For the record I'm 28 and was naked when writing my evaluation.
  15. Pugh- I've heard it was a bit of a reach but as someone alluded to earlier he wouldn't have been there for us in the second and if the Giants feel that strongly about him then taking the guy you want is the right move. Fills a big need too. Certainly not a "wow" pick but if he ends up being a starter at Guard or Right Tackle for the next 5-7 years I'll be pretty damn happy. Hankins- It's time to stop getting bitched out against the run and this pick give us a big body that can take on blocks. I figure as a rookie he can rotate in and learn from the veterans we have. Very happy with the defensive tackle position going into the season. Moore- The value was definitely there but a lot of what I read indicated he has a lot of work to do to become an effective NFL pass rusher. However, he was a highly productive player last year in the SEC and that can't be ignored. Can't complain as I always like defensive picks but I'm thinking he's a project at this point more than an immediate contributor on defense. Nassib- I absolutely hated this pick when I first saw it but I've calmed down since then. It's obviously great value in terms of where Nassib was supposed to go and if a nightmare scenario were to happen with Eli getting hurt and missing time, we might have a punchers chance with a young quarterback that has ability. I don't follow college football like some of you so I can't say I had a player in mind but something on the defensive side is what I was expecting and hoping for. Cooper- Love the size/speed combination and think he could be a pretty versatile player and a special teams contributor immediately. The heart condition is a big concern but a great athlete at this point in the draft you really have nothing to lose and can't go wrong. Herman- Big guard from an established college program. Good pick Cox- Whatever. I think it was a solid draft. Nothing really stood out but they replenished some much needed depth and possible starters down the road on the lines which I thought was critical coming in. We lost the line of scrimmage far too often last season and with many of our core guys on both lines getting old it's time for a youth movement. Add in an upside pick with Cooper I'm pretty satisfied.
  16. This. I don't like it. With Cruz possibly gone next season and Eli now 32 we're built to win now. Adding some depth on defense makes more sense there. Hell, just about anything outside of a punter makes more sense there. Funny we decide to go best player available on a quarterback of all things.
  17. Jags should ditch that gold helmet. The all black uniform is a nice look though.
  18. New quarterback same crappy supporting cast. You think they'd draft some playmakers on offense. It would be difficult for a good quarterback to succeed with that personnel let alone Sanchez or a rookie.
  19. I like it. Our run defense has been awful and that starts on the line. With Jenkins a stopgap and not seeing anything from Austin I think it's good to bring another guy in.
  20. Once I saw Fluker go off the board I was expecting a defensive player and with Floyd falling I thought that might be the play. Pugh does fill a need and if he's starting at guard or tackle week 1 i'll be feeling pretty good about it
  21. I'm with you. As long as he knows his role with the team I don't think it would hurt.
  22. He got knocked around good today. It's April though, and his two starts this year are nearly identical to his opening day start from last year and his third start in Atlanta. I'm pretty confident he'll iron out the kinks. Toronto might want to consider opening up the dome for him though when it gets warmer.
  23. It was good thinking on the Giants part to try and bring him in, considering our struggles against Washington last season. Maybe it was a bit of gamesmanship on the Skins part. Oh well there's always Perriloux.
