  1. There was a 2 or 3 year stretch where I went to the Giants Cowboys game and they wore the red jersey every time. I hope we never see them again. A throwback game or two would be cool though. I do like the ones we have now the most. It has a classic throwback look to it as it is.
  2. I think you're underrating Dickey pretty heavily. 2.84, 3.28, and 2.73. Those are his numbers with the Mets. Obviously you have to expect regression after last year and the AL is definitely more difficult but I don't think he's suddenly going to turn into a pumpkin. The AL East isn't exactly murderers row anymore either.
  3. Isn't it only going to apply for hits outside the tackle box? I'd like to know how many hits from last year would now be penalized with the rule change. I heard a clip from Colin Cowherd earlier during the week and he said it was only 6 plays but that seems very low.
  4. We're up against the cap, Brown emerged as a viable option, and we're paying Rolle. Something had to give. At least we locked up Beatty who I'd say was a much bigger priority given our offensive line situation. I'd say good luck to Kenny but he's an Eagle so fuck em.
  5. He'll be here. Cruz is a star in New York. He's a great fit in our offense and he's already cashed in big with marketing and endorsements. I have no doubt he'd be productive for another team but for a 1st round pick and a contract big enough to outbid the Giants I don't think it would pay off.
  6. Good posession guy. Agreed on Boothe he's become the new Seubert for this team.
  7. Like it. Getting out of the cespool that is Oakland and to a team with structure and a plan should help him. Heard a while back he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder which is a good thing. We could use some players like that.
  8. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/9044532/2013-nfl-free-agency-martellus-bennett-chicago-bears-source-says I scoffed at the idea of the Giants drafting a tight end but perhaps we will go that route after all. Jared Cook is also an interesting possibility. I'm a little bummed I liked Bennett's physical talent and it looked good early but late in the year he faded along with the rest of the offense. Ah well.
  9. Exactly. Highest paid player for now. It's just the way the market works. The two mentioned above and guys like Luck will eventually surpass it in all likelihood.
  10. worth what they gave up for him. Like you said he has MVP upside and putting him with his brother could help both of their games.
  11. Change the equipment. Make the helmet a safer piece of equipment or let's just stop playing the game. It's the Colosseum of our times people are going to get hurt, some seriously, and many of these guys will never be the same after playing. No amount of rule changes and modifications to the game is going to change that. We have the technology to improve the helmet start with that, see the results, and go from there. If our national conscience still can't deal with it then fuck it all it was fun while it lasted.
  12. We're not taking a tight end. Bennett's head isn't always in the game but he's a physical talent and now that he has a full year in the offense I'd expect him to improve. We really don't need any skill position players on offense. Maybe a back mid-late. Any pick not an offensive lineman or front 7 defender would be a surprise to me unless there's some kind of incredible value sitting there.
  13. Didn't see this coming. Glad he's getting a chance to show he's healthy and can still play. Has anyone heard anything on Webster? I imagine he'll be restructuring as well if he's going to stick around.
  14. That is ridiculous. He's worth the small price just in case he finds some of the old form. The Giants are going through a mini rebuild right now. We're up against the cap and quite frankly a lot of our core talent is getting old or just plain ineffective. This is going to be a huge draft and free agency for Reese.
  15. I think the front office and ownership is coming out with this so Cruz brings his price down. We do have cap issues so the possibility of only being able to afford one is very real but Id expect both of them to be a priority. We need them both. But if it came down to it I'd probably lean Cruz. He plays every game and I think Randle has a better chance of replacing what Nicks can do than anyone we have or could find for the slot. I do think Nicks is the better talent though.
  16. Yeah I agree. His path is very similar to Eli's. Doubt from the media and their fanbase, inconsistent performances, but stellar postseason play beating other "elite" quarterbacks. I'll give Flacco credit he played great. I never thought much of him and I didn't like the complaining about respect and recognition but he's well deserving of it now.
  17. Agree with everything all of you are saying. Our d line and pass rush not only wasn't a strength, it was a complete weakness minus a few big performances. It's easy to see why the defense struggled. It would have been even worse were it not for all of the turnovers they forced. A good start to fixing things would be moving Kiwi back to DE. Despite all this I think the Nicks injury is what fucked this season the most. A healthy Nicks would have been worth at least one win at some point.
  18. Yeah I agree. You can't teach the poise he showed in these big games, especially on the road. For a rookie it's extremely impressive. Seattle has a really nice team with plenty of young talent. I think we'll look at the Wilson pick as one of the biggest late round steals in recent memory.
  19. Time to get one of these fucking guys that you can send out for 55+ with confidence. Thanks for everything Tynes but we need more range.
  20. Wow what a fucking game. Tough loss for Seattle but they got an absolute steal in Wilson. Amazing what he was able to do in a hostile environment.
  21. We get Green Bay, Seattle, and Denver at home I'll sign for that.
  22. Game should have been over. The safety letting Jones get behind him is a mortal sin. It's hard to even wrap your head around.
  23. Kiffin runs a 4-3 and cover 2 as well. I'm not sure how Ware will fit into those plans. Strange move.
  24. I hope Atlanta can finally win a big game and beat Seattle. I'm not sure why I dislike them but I think it's their fans and that 12th man crap. The team is good though that's for sure.
