  1. Prince's pick was on a ball thrown to Jackson Storm you're right. The ball was underthrown and Jackson had him beat but he did make a good play on the ball. He'll have to bring his A game this week we need him to step up. Coe as well.
  2. It definitely doesn't help. Any game against Philly is a battle and the healthier you are the better. A 2-2 record wouldn't be the end of the world but being 0-2 in the division already would be pretty shitty. Hopefully Barden seizes the opportunity again and we get another big night from the running game. I think we'll need it.
  3. You're right it's pretty dangerous. This is the reason you drafted a running back in the first round. More important than that, you have Brown emerging. I'd like to see the team and Bradshaw take their time on this one.
  4. I feel the same way. As great a player as Tiki was, I don't think this team accomplishes what it has without him retiring and publicly criticizing Coughlin and Eli. I'll give him this though. Coughlin probably gets fired if Tiki doesn't have the game of his life week 17 in Washington 2006. It's definitely strange and interesting to talk about when you look back on everything that happened up to this point.
  5. It's a complete embarrassment. And for the league to come out defiant shows a lot of arrogance and insults the intelligence of the fans.
  6. Theres at least one ref that I know of that was fired from the lingerie football league. The fucking lingerie football league! The regular refs are far from perfect but they know the rules and the procedural stuff that goes along with it. The players and coaches don't respect these guys and its compromising the integrity of the game. Unfortunately, the league and the owners feel their pride and a few bucks(for them) is more important than maintaining the high standards they set for themselves so these replacement officials aren't going anywhere. A situation like last night WILL happen again. Lets just hope it's not our Giants on the wrong end.
  7. They'll be fine and so will Peyton. Atlanta and Houston are very good teams and they were a defensive stop away in both games from putting the ball back in Peytons hands for a chance to win.
  8. Agreed. Coughlin is giving his vet the opportunity to keep his job but Brown has already earned carries and will get more if the ground game sputters. Hopefully we get a best case scenario and have two backs running hard and effectively.
  9. I thought the roughing the passer call on the wilson interception was pretty poor too. But the Shields pass interference was undeniably awful and that last play what the fuck.
  10. Bennett has been awesome. He's definitely the best athlete we've had there in a while. Considering what Eli got out of Boss and Ballard he could be in for a huge season.
  11. Yeah, Thursdays performance was totally worth it. I can now focus all my attention on Eagles Cardinals. I expect Philly to come up big but maybe they'll continue the trend of sloppy play and the Cards pull one out. I would love to see Kolb torch them.
  12. The Eagles. Next week won't even be fun for me. It's just a stressful three hours. You're going to lose games in this league but I never take a loss to Philly well.
  13. Everything was good last night. Usually we can find something to criticize but that was a complete effort start to finish. I was especially encouraged by the secondary. Granted, we had a consistent pass rush for the first time this season but the young corners did a nice job. Prince played well and didn't get injured and Hosley had a few really big plays with the hurry and interception. Hopefully his hamstring injury doesn't linger.
  14. Rookie legs and a veteran brain. We might have another Victor Cruz type situation brewing. If the Giants can build off last night and rediscover their ground game I'm not sure there's a more dangerous and balanced offense in the league.
  15. The honeymoon is over for Cam. He was a media darling last season and he played very well but the way you handle adversity and accountability when things aren't going good are what ends up defining you as a player, especially at the quarterback position.
  16. This really blows. Well, Barden has an opportunity yet again. Let's see if he can actually accomplish something.
  17. I think we'll be ok with Wilson and Brown providing there are holes to run through. Brown has been in the league for 4 years but he's essentially a rookie in terms of the wear and tear on his body. Regardless, I hope Bradshaws injury isn't too serious. You can't mess around with neck injuries.
  18. It's just a new coach trying to make a statement. No other team in the league does it or has done it but whatever. He wants his players to "play till the whistle blows". Well, you may have wanted to reinforce that a bit earlier before the Giants put up 600 yards of total offense.
  19. The fact that no one around the league does it makes it an issue but the Giants of all teams should know anything can happen. It's a lesson learned and I think every team will take notice and be prepared from now on.
  20. They need to come to some kind of agreement. We'll bitch about the refs either way but this is out of hand. On a side note, how about Josh Morgan taking an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a third down in field goal range? What a brutal way to lose a game, especially for a franchise finally finding it's way a bit.
  21. The pass rush hasnt really been there yet but I expect it to come around. Tuck and Osi are good players and barring a sudden, catastrophic decline I expect them to be making plays sooner rather than later. The secondary is a concern. Regardless of the pass rush they're just getting beat, especially downfield. Webster has had a tough couple of weeks. I did like how Hosley beat Jackson to the front corner of the end zone in the second half, forcing Jackson to become the defender. I think we might have something there.
  22. This team might not always be good as a whole year in year out but with Eli, Nicks, and Cruz they're built to win games coming from behind. It saved our asses to get to the playoffs last season and it very well might again.
  23. Nicks and Cruz both catch touchdowns. Hosley gets a pick. Tynes misses a 44 yard field goal. Some members of this board will get angry at a Gilbride play call that was really an audible by Eli.
  24. I know I didn't take it like you were slighting them. My comment was more towards the argument people make trying to minimize the accomplishment.
  25. It was the kids first game and it was on national television. I suppose it's a matter of opinion but I don't view that as a sign of weakness, more frustration and disappointment than anything. I'd rather see reactions like Wilson's than the smiling and joking we see so often from players after making a critical mistake.
