  1. I don't know about you Jim but if I can get our no hitter and a 20 game winner and possible Cy Young contender out of this season I will be more than satisfied. R.A. has been through a lot and in a time where it seems anyone with a pulse and a live arm can make a few million bucks in baseball, the man has earned his keep. He's extremely humble, intelligent and has a blue collar appeal you rarely see anymore.
  2. I listened to the entire game on wfan because I had work. Howie is so good at what he does though it really didn't matter. Johan just cemented his legacy with the Mets. Just an incredible, gutsy performance. It's surreal.
  3. Yeah, I thought it was pretty awesome. The scream on the fake grenade was great.
  4. It's what you need now with the rules completely opening up for the offense. 2 or 3 touchdown leads aren't "safe" anymore. It's still very surreal to me sometimes when I look at what the team has accomplished under Eli and Coughlin. The best thing about it is that there is still plenty of time left.
  5. They won't rush him. The Giants aren't the Mets. Agreed Blue on the injury giving extra reps for Randle and the players competing for the #4 spot etc. I wouldn't call it a "blessing" per say but it certainly could provide more opportunity for a few guys.
  6. Sour grapes at it's finest. I'll give the Eagles one thing though. They have won more Super Bowls on paper than any team in the league.
  7. Looks like he gets downfield pretty well. As Jim alluded to 4.6 speed at that size is pretty impressive.
  8. Yeah. That is a really funny description.
  9. Boothe is the new Seubert. Very versatile he's really turned into a very good player. Smart guy too graduated from Cornell.
  10. Rogers wasn't a bust to his credit. Only played 7 years though but had 7,000 yards and 50+ touchdowns. Granted, I'm sure the Saints would rather have had the greatest big play linebacker of all time. Goddamn voodoo.....
  11. I don't think we should discount the fact that the Niners were the best defense in the league last season. The line is a bit of a concern for me but I'm just a fan. I think I have a decent idea of who's pulling their weight but I really don't know shit at the end of the day. I trust Reese, Coughlin and company to evaluate what they have and make the right decisions. I won't argue against two Superbowls in five years.
  12. I'm pumped guys. I'm defense first when it comes to the draft but it looks like the Giants took two good talents in positions of need that could contribute immediately. For better or worse the league has changed and the emphasis is on being able to put up points and having the ability to do it quick. I thought the Giants would bring in a veteran to help out with the #3 WR spot but it looks like they may have ended up doing better. Randle is a big receiver and was able to excel in THE conference of college football with spotty quarterback play. Great value.
  13. It looks like a good value pick. I think what the team experienced last year with the injuries could have influenced things a bit. Good to have depth we don't need another year of Rolle playing nickel.
  14. Yeah, that's what I think it would be setting things up for. Perhaps even as soon as tonight.
  15. I have no problem with this pick. With Bradshaws foot problems they needed to bring someone in to handle some of the load. There is usually good value at rb in the middle rounds but if Reese and the Giants felt he was the right pick I won't question it. It definitely is a position of need. He handled kickoffs too including two touchdowns so perhaps he can contribute in that area as well.
  16. It's early in the year BUT....I like what I'm seeing. Tejada is showing a nice approach at the plate, Wright is on a tear, and they finally gave Nieuwenhuis a chance before he turned into a prune. The starting pitching minus Santana and Dickeys last start has been very good. I'm not worried about those two though they're gamers. Even Pelfrey I have to give him credit he pitched a great game yesterday. This team doesn't have all the pieces necessary to contend but they're younger and there's an attitude to them. Even though they lost Friday, I liked how they hung in and didn't pack it up. Unlike what we have seen in recent years, there will be plenty of interesting things to watch with this team late in the season in terms of player development and seeing what they have for the future.
  17. Supposedly tested positive for excessive estrogen levels.
  18. Tollefson is going to be a big loss. I'm assuming that he's looking for more money and perhaps a more prominent role because as Joe alluded to, there is no reason for the Giants to wait on him and Blackburn if money isn't an issue.
  19. Good for Aaron. He was a part of two championship teams and now he gets paid. After the first two weeks of this past season looked like it was going to be a long year for him but he straightened out a bit and made some key plays. For a first round pick, perhaps he was a bit underwhelming especially with the injuries but by no means was he a bust.

    Peyton

Nothing agaisnt the guy. He has a lot of passion and he's a great teammate. But with the rules the league has now, there is no place whatsoever for a quarterback that can only complete 50% of his passes. It's a passing league and you need a competent thrower of the football. Not only that, his presence alone creates a media circus and the idiot cult following that comes with it. None of that is his fault really but it doesn't change the fact that he can't play the position right now.
  21. That's a huge misconception and you're right. The only purpose the regular season serves is that it provides the opportunity to compete for a championship if you perform well. That's it. Everyone gets caught up in the hyperbole of the moment.
  22. I just had to get that off my chest. I know it's spring but for fucks sake Pelfrey can you at least look the part of a major league pitcher? If this extends into the season perhaps we see Harvey at some point providing he has success in AAA. Who knows, that move might even sell a few extra tickets.
