  1. The guy on YES hasn't been paying attention, because Tuck has been all over the line. He's been moved around too much, IMO. For example, on Chris Perry's long TD run, Kiwi and Tuck were on the right side of the DL while Tollefson and I couldn't tell which DT were on the left...you saw the end result, our best defensive players were non-factors by design. Moving Tuck into the interior of the DL is fine when there are pass rushers on the outside who can stretch the OL a bit more, like last season. Tollefson and Wynn on the outside are blocked too easily one-on-one, but McDougle might have the talent to make it work once he can get up to speed. Until then though, Spags needs to keep guys where their strengths are. edit: Treehugger jogged my memory, it was Robbins in on the Perry TD, and he was definitely held.
  2. Damn right. I think part of the problem is that the play takes too long to come in from Gilbride. In week 1 the Giants looked rushed coming to the line a few times, and if I recall, Eli's pick came on one of those plays. Its only a matter of time before defenses start timing their rush to the play clock.
  3. His blocking is much improved too. I just mentioned it in another thread, and it bears repeating here, they did a segment on Boss's blocking on NFL Matchup this week...and he was BADASS. Watch for him next game, he's doing some good stuff out there. I thought I saw him bust some people up against the Bengals too.
  4. The man can block. You should have seen NFL Matchup this week, they did a segment on Boss's blocking...he was pancaking people out there, it was beautiful. I thought I saw him lay a couple people out yesterday too.
  5. Man, lots of overreaction today. The Bengals have some problems, but they aren't pushovers. Consider this...Palmer got sacked six times today. SIX! And the Giants didn't get one turnover out of all that pressure. Thats a good game from Palmer, but its also bad luck for the Giants...you put a QB under that kind of pressure, you can bet good money you should get the ball on the ground or an easy pick at least once or twice. And the entire complexion of this game changes if the Giants get to enjoy the fruits of their pass rush. Im not sure I can put the offense's issues on Gilbride. There was poor execution from the receivers, lots of dropped passes. And early in the game the Bengals were stacking the box with 8, 9, even 10 players, and Eli never audibled out to a pass. Bottom line: the players didn't execute.
  6. ::sniff-sniff::... I grew up a big Mets fan....can't stand MLB these days, but its always been a regret of mine that I never got to a Mets game at Shea when I had the chance. Now I'm half a country away and it'll never happen. Oh well...I had good times watching them play on the old NY Super Station, WOR. I'll miss the good ol' Big Apple most of all.
  7. Oh man, thats why I didn't take the Giants in the SW suicide pool this week. I just know I'll jinx them. The Bengals have a lot of talent, if the Giants front four doesn't play with fire the Bengals will score some points and make a game of it. Same goes for the NY offensive line too. They should be able to push the Bengals around, but they aren't just going to bend over for the Giants. In all other phases of the game, the Bengals can hang, its just that their lines are sloppy this year.
  8. Man, I've been looking forward to this game all year. Everyone I work with is a Bengals fan, I thought I'd get to talk smack all week. Instead the Bengals suck ass and their fans have given up hope. I tell a Bengals fan that the Giants are going to win by 20 and they tell me, no, the Giants are going to win by 30. God, its so pointless....
  9. Its debatable that he EVER had the skills.
  10. But who sits down so he can get in the line-up? This is a team in contention, and he's proven to not be the player that Toomer, Burrress, Smith, and arguably Hixon are right now. Moss has huge potential, but I can't see him getting to learn on the job with this team.
  11. Cost me a game too. I was playing against vs. a team with Westbrook, and his bonus TD was the difference. :brooding:
  12. Cincinnati. At least I'll get the Bengals @ Giants game next week, and get to talk some smack all week before and (probably) afterwards.
  13. Oh heeeeelllll no, anything but San Francisco v. Seattle :brooding: Looks like I'll be looking for a pirated internet feed...
  14. Landry won't remember it. Big relief on Kiwi. No sacks for him (note to Spags - the 4 aces package doesn't work without 4 aces, keep Tuck at DE most of the time), but I think he had 3 tackles for loss. He played well. Samuels did handle him most of the night, but there's no shame in that, Samuels is a damn good (but dirty) OT.
  15. Fuck ya'll, I'm glad the game is tommorow. I'd give myself an anuerism if I had to wait until Sunday.
  16. Doesn't seem possible, the NFC East is too tough. If the Cowboys or the Giants play at their best they'll still probably go 4-2 in the division, and 10-0 in non-divisional play is totally unrealistic, especially for the Cowboys' first place schedule.
  17. Because our 3rd DE is named Dave Tollefson (or something like that).
  18. They've got to clear waivers first, thats how we lost London
  19. Droughns. The Giants don't need to carry six runningbacks.
  20. lol...as I recall, we had to settle for William Joseph On second thought, McDougle has had even more injury trouble than Colvin. His injuries have been overshadowed by getting shot, but otherwise he hasn't made it through an NFL season without a season-ender.
  21. Damn, I knew London was too good to make it to the practice squad. He didn't even make it past the first team to draw from Waivers, the Dolphins had first choice.
  22. Droughns can go. He's a good player who just couldn't afford to lose a step. Now he's lost two steps, so its time to go.
  23. No to Colvin. But HELL YES to McDougle. Er...wait, now that I think about it, he's been injured more than Colvin.
  24. Deltha has motivation problems. But when he's motivated, he's elite. The Bengals got one superb season out of him. But he's probably over the hill now. Definitely, DEFINITELY, got to bring McDougle in for a look.
