  1. Whew! I didn't want Vilma in DC. He's the sort of guy who could make that Haynesworth signing look incredible, Vilma would be great behind a guy like him. (Of course, I don't think the 'Skins are going to get their money's worth out of Haynesworth, so nyah nyah nyah!).
  2. Probably a good call, Kitna has more left in the tank than Brad Johnson. But they'd better have something in mind for their secondary, I recall Henry holding down the fort well at safety after they switched him.
  3. 14 games means nothing if its just the first 14 games. IF the object is to win championships you need the guys there at the end of the season.
  4. I stand corrected. When he was 22 he finished an entire season. Dare I say the point stands?
  5. If healthy and motivated, yes, he'll elevate their game. But he's only been an elite player for two seasons, and has NEVER finished an entire season. Haynesworth is an oft-injured 350 pounder pushing 30 with a history of work ethic and psychological issues who has only lived up to his potential in his contract season. I've seen this movie before, I know how it ends.
  6. He can bank on it and lobby for it all he wants...it won't happen. They might need to tweak the salary cap structure, but this league NEEDS the salary cap and the owners, the vast majority of them, realize that.
  7. As for Bernard, he was pretty damn good a few years ago as a situational pass rusher at DT for the Seahawks...why'd they let him go?
  8. I wouldn't mind talking to Vilma, the Giants need a speed injection at LB and Vilma has better wheels than anyone in this draft. In the long term he could replace Pierce in the middle...but I'm not sure how good he'd be on the weak side, its been a long time since I've really watched him play.
  9. seriously, this is a very good way to field 8-8, 9-7 teams year in, year out. Way to go Little Danny.
  10. With apologies to mikmak...my god the 'Skins are retarded
  11. And the 'Skins would be 'tarded to drop $16 mil/year on Haynesworth. He plays only 65% of a D's snaps, 75% of a team's games, and has rarely finished a season.
  12. Its not hard when they make no effort to field a competatively deep team. Their starting 22 is stacked, the next 26 guys are shit.
  13. I suspect the Giants get into the bidding only to drive up the price for the Eagles. TJs one of my favorite players, but I'm not sure he's the best fit for this team (although I wouldn't exactly shed any tears if they signed him).
  14. Oh I know, but thats just very impressive. I don't think I could jump that high on my best day, in the best conditions.
  15. TJ is a damn good player, and he'll put up his numbers, but if he's called upon to the 'the guy' we're not going to have an offence that can stretch the field. Not unless one of the younger guys steps up. TJ isn't really that different a player from Toomer...better, but similar.
  16. WTF! I didn't even know that was physically possible.
  17. He always did though. Was he taking 'roids in '93?
  18. I wouldn't be so sure. TO was only worth a 2nd round pick.
  19. Maybe. He'd be worth giving a workout. If he's only lost a step and not three or four as the stats would indicate then he's better than Plax.
  20. USA Today, but they're only current through '08. For all I know, it could jump to $4 million in '09...if thats what we'd pay him, I'd pass. But if he'd restructure to sub $2 million?....think that would make it worthwhile?
  21. I don't know what his salary will be in 2009, but in '07 and '08 his base salary was only $1 million.
  22. Would he come by trade? If so, we'd only have to absorb his salary; the bonuses already paid by the Chiefs that are usually pro-rated over the life of the contract are accelerated to the Chief's '09 cap when the player is traded away (the team trading the player away takes the cap hit). If Gonzo's contract was heavy on the signing bonus he might not be that expensive at all. Once again, this is another player could be useful depending entirely on what he costs. How expensive could he be, the guy is pushing 35. I'd try to get him on the cheap, low ball him with the opportunity to win a championship.
