  1. Hmmm. That sounds suspiciously like Plaxico before we signed him. I say give it a go. His stock is low, he's about to get expensive...The Browns might want a top-half first rounder, but thats merely their asking price. I'd wager he could be had for a 2nd round pick & change. Which we have to spare.
  2. Last year a 1st and a 3rd (possibly upgraded to a 2nd) weren't enough. Now it will only take a 3rd or 4th? ...maybe, Ocho Cinco's stock is way down. And with good reason. He's proving to be TO without the work ethic.
  3. lol, thats the truth. Its not Ike's fault he came out in a weak draft and got picked way too early. Most years, a guy with his skills is a 2nd rounder. And he would have been a solid 2nd round pick.
  4. ...if this season proved anything, it was Plax that kept Dawkins out of the box. Watch film comparing 1st Philly game w/ Plax - where Dawkins is always 10 yards or more back - to the 2nd game, without Plax, where Dawkins is up on the line the whole damn time.
  5. Couldn't be more wrong. Tune into NFL Matchup early Sunday mornings, Merrill Hoge has had a man-crush on Boss most of the year entirely because of his blocking. He's shown some clips of Boss putting guys on their backs, and I'm not talking DBs or undersized LBs, I'm talking DEs. Boss owns Trent Cole.
  6. I love Pierce, and I think he might still have a place on the team, but the Giants desperately need a dose of athleticism at linebacker. In the second half of the season word got out that the Giants LBs can't cover RBs worth a damn; more than anything else, that killed the defense. And I still don't understand why the D changed up so much in the 2nd half of the Eagles game. The Eagles hadn't moved the ball at all, the D was dominant in the 1st half. But if you can stomach it, re-watch the game and compare the defensive sets in the two halves...in the 1st half there was always someone, typically Pierce, lined up in one of the C-G gaps, but the 2nd half was completely different, everybody was back off the line, and lo and behold the Eagles had success moving the ball. I don't get it...did Spags pre-emptively change it up to counter the changes he thought the Eagles would make? Because thats dumb...everyone knows Andy Reid doesn't make half-time adjustments. Anyway, I'm not running these guys out of town, but I think we've seen a few chinks in their armor.
  7. Didn't both Pittsburgh & Baltimore whip Philly in the regular season? Philly is hot right now, and I think they should beat Arizona, but...I just don't trust McNabb to go four straight playoff games without up-chucking the game away.
  8. Yeah, and Arizona is NOT a team built for the Meadowlands in late January. I think the Eagles will be the toughest test for the Giants in the post-season.
  9. Giants players and coaches, I hope you watched this game last night and learned your lessons well.
  10. All I have to say is, fuck Drew Brees. I'm pretty sure he went off for 40+ when we played in the regular season too.
  11. No way, that would make it way too easy for the offense. Anybody get a good look at the holding call on Steve Smith? He was so frustrated by being shut down by Corey Webster, Smith practically put Webster in a headlock on that play. That was a justified holding call if I ever saw one. The penalty no-call I'm worried about in the 'let 'em play' playoffs is defensive holding on the defensive linemen; our OL is so good at pulling, sometimes defensive linemen grab on rather than let them get loose. Its quite illegal, and often goes uncalled (see the last Dallas game for example).
  12. By the end of the fourth, I was wondering when Madden would take Steve Smiths dick out of his mouth. You'd think football's fatass answer to Harry Carey would pay enough attention to the game to recognize that Webster had shut the Ol' Play Maker down.
  13. with the division wrapped up, and Coughlin already open that the no-huddle would have helped the prior week vs. Philadelphia, I think the coaching staff made a conscious decision to keep the no huddle up their sleeve for when they really need it. I don't know, just a theory. Otherwise I think they would have changed it up in the 3rd quarter.
  14. Seems the Giants are in a slump in several phases of the game. Play-calling on both sides of the ball has been erratic. A factor that hasn't been mentioned is the loss of Fred Robbins. He's an underrated pass rusher, and his absense has left the defense thin at DT and gasping for air late in the game. Thats two weeks in a row that the run D has faded badly as the game has worn on. I'm concerned with Hixon. We all know he's the guy who lost his head for the game after the Kevin Everett injury. He got his head together and has been a great player for us...until Plax turned dumbass, and Hixon became 'THE' guy. In consecutive weeks he's dropped TD passes. He showed a lot up until two weeks ago, I just hope it doesn't take him another year to get his head together again. Screen passes...christ, I know, can nobody on this team run a screen pass? We all know its not Jacobs forte, but Ward? Bradshaw? The way the Cowboys were playing D, we should have seen three or four more screens. Don't save them for the playoffs guys, the #1 seed isn't wrapped up yet. Defensive play calling...some might say the book is out on Spags, but I also saw defensive linemen neglecting their gaps in their pursuit of sack glory. On Choice's TD run, I forgot who it was, but one of our DTs did some goofy spin move right out of the play. But I do feel some of the defensively playcalling has been irresponsible the last two weeks. It feels to me as though Spags is buying into his hype.
  15. Yeah, thats got to be one of those 'tards.
  16. Raping underaged girls, threatening with a firearm (while wearing his Bengals jersey, which makes him a major tool in and of itself), and random jumpings and beatings all over the Cincinnati area. Mike Brown is out of his mind if he thinks what Plax did is anywhere near some of the stuff Chris Henry has pulled. That one stunt alone, with the gun outside of a Florida night club, would have put him in jail for 20 years if he had done it in NYC. And Henry has done some shit that hasn't even made the press. I know some people that live in the same neighborhood as him...right NOW, as a millionaire NFL player, not where he grew up...and the dude has a history of violent, threatening confrontations. He'll go to prison one day for a very long time.
  17. A little, he was basically the same player then too. He was drafted in the 2nd because he had a tremendous Senior Bowl and his measurables were through the roof, not because he showed any more in college than he's shown here. I think Mini Moss has a little value, but its not on kickoffs, punt returns, slip screens, anything like that...but the man can run, he's guaranteed to get separation on longer routes outside the redzone. We've seen it a few times this year, he's worth keeping around as long as they keep using him like that.
  18. About the Ocho Cinco suggestion...hell no. He's over 30 now and he's never put the sort of effort into his conditioning that he needed to stay productive late in his career. I've seen him play more than a few times this year, being stuck in this hell hole of a football market, and he's clearly lost a step. Sheesh, the damn fool stops by McDonalds on his way into the stadium each morning. He'll cost far more than he's worth, his career is on a sharp decline.
  19. Well I guarantee he'll remain a Giant for the rest of his career...because his career is OVER. :brooding:
  20. Remind me next time I'm up for a raise to ask for what I'm worth based on what I'm going to do and not what I've already done.
  21. Its official...the Giants are even better than I thought. All the distractions this week, and they still emasculate the 'Skins. Wow.
  22. yeah, sometimes it seems like most people behind the wheel of a minivan shouldn't be driving anything larger than a midsize.
  23. yeah, because a $100 ticket is nothing to them
