Nas
Eli Apple’s turbulent Giants career is over. The Giants traded the cornerback to the Saints on Tuesday in return for a 2019 fourth-round pick and 2020 seventh-rounder, ESPN.com reported. The move came a day after the team fell to 1-6 in a disastrous first season for coach Pat Shurmur and GM Dave Gettleman. The Giants selected Apple with the 10th pick of the 2016 draft, and he was a steady secondary presence for a playoff team that season. But he became the face of the Giants’ crash last season, amid differences with Ben McAdoo’s coaching staff and teammates.
Nas
4th Round pick sounds about right.

Storm
I think the Giants probably just got out from under his contract, really. Hes banged up, anyway. The trade should have been for Bridgewater and a 7th rounder, though.

And yet despite missing a full year due to a torn up knee, he has 17 wins since mid season 2014 to Mannings 26.
Chuck Wagon
We aged out and wasted our two time super bowl winning MVPs prime .....with shitty draft after shitty draft for the last 5 or so years. Now he is a shell of his former self surrounded by 2 or 3 great to potentially great players...and 16 other guys who could go away tomorrow and nobody would remember them for anything other then being mediocre. The sooner we realize this is a total rebuild and start banking draft choices like the Raiders are selling off what assets we have.......the better. C. mastershake
He's now re-united with his former Ohio State teammate Marshon Lattimore who was worthy of a top 12 draft pick and not a bust like Apple.

Herc
Im with BIC on Bridgewater. That offense was completely scaled back because of his limitations throwing downfield. Im not sure how his stock got so high while he didnt play for two years, but if Minnesota thought they had something in him after investing a first round pick in him I think they wouldve saved themselves 90 million for cousins and just signed Bridgewater cheap
boohyah
Why didnt san fran go after him when garrapolo went down? That was a bigger need.

mastershake
Blow it up! Trade Odell for a 2019 and 2020 first rounder.
Sephiroth
As I said in the other thread, I don't think Bridgewater is the answer, but I think he can be a "stopgap with upside" while you groom your eventual franchise guy.

Herc
Yes his entire signing bonus would all accelerate and hit our cap at once as dead money. Hes untradeable for now
Treehugger
This is a dumb move. I think Gentleman's ego is over-ruling his football reasoning on this one.
mastershake
That would be a massive cap hit Why's that? Can't trade the entire contract?
Treehugger
Why's that? Can't trade the entire contract? the signing bonus money was spread over the life of the contract. If we move the contract the money we already paid him gets dumped on next year's cap.
