Roster cuts this far.

Surprised Pulley made it, Giants could have cut him and saved some money.  Weird with the guys the Giants signed a few days ago only to get cut as well Halapio/Holton.

The number of linebackers makes sense because I see them on special teams so how that works out will be very interesting.  Not expecting many trick plays and onside kicks.

Shame to see Ryan Connelly cut ....

I think he was a casualty of modern day NFL defenses.

You really only have one true LB on the field anymore, which is Martinez thus far.

The other guys are either a pass rushing specialist/run stopper or a coverage guy, usually that hybrid box safety/corner/LB you see more and more now.

Less team are running true cover 1 or cover 2 defenses, they don't need three or even two LBs on the field, it's too much of a passing league and having the extra corner or safety on the field instead of a LB is paramount.

Putting things in perspective, we have $4.6, $3.4, and $3.0mm respectively invested in Fackrell (a backup), Cam Fleming (who's had a horrible camp), and Pulley (a backup)...

Instead of signing a competent, capable RT and/or Center.

On the bright side, in what little we could see Nick Gates was manhandling bitches.

And I feel like most of the press on Fleming was positive. But wtf do they know.

Looks like most of the cuts are headed to the practice squad.

The TE group looks really thin. I thought we'd see a lot of two TE sets, but can't do that with just three on the roster. Maybe this means we'll see Eli Penny deployed in some creative ways. I feel like he has more ball skills than he gets credit for.

Fleming had a horrible camp?

All I've read is rave things about how he's stood out at RT, if anything Thomas is the guy out there struggling on the Oline from all reports.

Also which capable RT/Center could the Giants have signed for less than 10 million? The only guys out there worth a damn were Glasglow who's has a 22 million dollar dead cap carry over from the Lions. Conklin and Bulaga are both have 30+ million in dead cap space as well.

The only guy I'm surprised the Giants never went after was Finney from the Steelers, but the dude was a career back up.

May be true about the quantity of TEs but I feel like the Giants have one of the more talented group of TEs in the league.

I read that Fleming looked very good at camp, with one of the coaches (forget who) saying he was the best one out there.

He didn't impress me in the first scrimmage though. I'm thinking he's a lateral move from Remmers.

The rest of the line we'll have to see. They looked terrible in the scrimmage... but it would be awesome if that was due to a greatly improved d-line.

In contrast to the Tight End position, the giants have one of the most underwhelming wide receiver groups that I can remember. Shepard has had a million concussions, Tate is old. Slayton is the only starter.

I think if those three, plus Coleman, are a good group. If Engram is healthy.

Right now, it’s Shepard, Tate, Slayton, CJ Board, and Damien Ratley. With Cody Core and David Sills on IR. It’s the weakest position group next to oline and linebacker, in my opinion...

This WR group reminds me of Eli’s Rookie.
