Herc
Wasn't a 3 down guy in 2015 coming off ACL the previous year but he's still very against the run.
BlueInCanada
I'd throw a one or two year contract at him. Would basically start day one beside Kennard, and that scrub they signed from the 'Skins. No injury history, and the guy is one of the best tacklers in the NFL.
Tempest
Yeah we need another player over 30 coming back from an injury who can't cover to man the LB position.
Herc
He's two years removed from it though. It did hurt him in coverage last year but he can still play running downs
BlueInCanada
Yeah we need another player over 30 coming back from an injury who can't cover to man the LB position. The current crop of LBs cant cover or tackle. Atleast bring someone in who can do something.
Tempest
The current crop of LBs cant cover or tackle. Atleast bring someone in who can do something. Someone who can do something isn't good enough, it does sound like the Giants mantra at LB. I'd at least wait until the preseason games before declaring who can't cover or tackle. Good mix of experience and youth at LB with durability currently being the biggest question mark about them.
boohyah
Tulloch is better than anything we have therefore he's worth a look. We'd be foolish to ignore him.
Herc
The guy is 31 and gets 100 tackles every year. You really don't think he'd be a positive role player?

TrashTalker92
totally not interested.... when was the last time we actually got a serviceable defense player that's over 30 and coming off injury?
Herc
well Detroit had one last year. He had 107 tackles and his name is Stephen tulloch
BronxRik
Pierce was 27 when they signed him, 30 when he won a SB. Does that count?
Herc
Nope. All players born in the 80's who ever had an injury are lost causes because Reese once gave a linebacker with two Achilles injuries a long term contract
Sephiroth
I really liked him when he was a free agent about five years ago, but to be fair, we did have Mark Herzlich on the team so we didn't need a Pro Bowl caliber MLB.
Treehugger
I think Goodson will cure our MLB issues.
Herc
I think he's gonna be great too. I think a cheap veteran presence who can still play the run will help. Especially considering we still have like 19 mil in cap space
gmenroc
I don't think there's a problem with a cheap veteran to shepherd some of the younger guys, but I just read that Tulloch was released because he couldn't pass a physical after having offseason surgery. I'll pass on that kind of veteran leadership.
Herc
That's weird. I read that he did pass that physical and that he was told back in early feb that he would be cut when the offseason started
gmenroc
NM...I must've misread it. It was worded something like, the Lions were waiting for Tulloch to pass a physical and then they cut him. Not every article out there seems to point out that he DID pass it, but they cut him anyway... ...which begs the question...if he passed the physical and he produced last year, why are they cutting him? Treehugger
Probably because he signed a stupid back-loaded contract that he was never going to see the final year of.
gmenroc
Then why isn't the report more along the lines of 'cap casualty' instead of being cast in light of the injury?
Herc
It's pretty weird bc apparently they told him he's getting cut back in feb, he has surgery, they wait til July 5, give him a physical, he passes, they cut him. I have no idea what to make of it. Why not just cut him in March or June 1st or whatever if you know you're cutting him for cap purposes.
Sephiroth
The Cowboys will probably sign him.

Sephiroth
I read that they didn't want to have to give him an injury settleme t for releasing him before he had recovered from offseason surgery.
