He can call it a meltdown, a blown opportunity, whatever makes him feel smart is fine with me. The fact is, whenever the Giants lost this year, all the experts agreed it was because they lack talent. When we win, it's because the other team makes mistakes. The Cowboys coulda, woulda, shoulda...........didn't.
  2. It's Luke Skywalker's home world.
  3. We are like the twin stars of Tatooine.
  4. A good example is the Tampa game. After the game, I wasn't in any special mood to crow about it, but it was great that Eli made Ronde look like a moron. Win or lose against Green Bay, I'll still pull for whomever wins the game to beat whomever wins the AFC Championship, because I'm an NFC guy, and I know alot of Packer fans that are pretty cool. I felt great after the Tampa game, thinking that if anything, getting a post-season win for Eli, Coughlin, and the rest of the team was a great shot in the arm. At that point, I felt the Giants had a huge monkey off their back, and were playing with house money. But last week's game v Dallas was like taking the house money and hitting a 10-1 longshot. It dropped a huge Romo Roach Bomb on message boards around the country. Whatever happens from here happens....but regardless, this has been a great season, and a huge step forward for the franchise and it's fans. There's just no denying it.
  5. No man.......YOU are brilliant.
  6. Great point. Maybe Jerry Jones can show some class by giving those NFC Championship tickets to some Giants fans. Maybe that could "start the healing".
  7. Hey man, good luck next week against the Packers. It should be awesome watching Romo and Favre shoot it out in Dallas. .....what?...... Oops. Never mind.
  8. First Dallas loses with a Romo interception, and then TO cries. I couldn't have written a better ending to that game. When I saw that post-game interview, I didn't laugh.....I absolutely cackled. From now on, I'm going to refer to him as: T. .
  9. Wade Phillips not only looks like the Skipper, but he has the same sense of command. Maybe next year the Skipper will keep Gilligan in Dallas, instead of letting him chase Ginger around in Cabo. The Cowboys might have the best players, but it wasn't enough.....the better team won last Sunday.
  10. If not the Giants then the Packers. I like Favre, and Green Bay is a reminder of all that is good about football fans in general. Plus, I'll always pull for the NFC over the AFC. I like and respect Belichick, but I absolutely hate his players, most notably Harrison. I'm very tired with the whole Patriots thing....they think that they invented the concept of teamwork. The team I don't want to see win the SB is the Chargers. Rivers is a complete punk.....he acts and looks like an evil Buzz Lightyear. And I'm certainly tired of hearing Chargers fans whine over the whole Eli trade. In a perfect world, the Giants kick the snot out of Rivers to win the SB.
  11. I'm hoping for a good old-fashioned ass-kicking of the Redskins. We can wrap up the seed, travel to Buffalo with nothing to play for, and then come back for the finale all loosey-goosey against the Patriots, and just blitz the living crap out of Tom Brady.
  12. Beat DC next week, and then rest Plaxico until the playoffs. Let's see how Plax and Eli play in Round 1, and then let's judge Gilbride.
  13. As you know, next week's game is basically the biggest of the season. Beat the Foreskins, and we are in. Lose, and all of a sudden we've got to either beat Buffalo in Buffalo, or beat a team that nobody has touched all year, or else hope to back into our playoff spot. I'm not trying to be a smart-ass here. All I'm saying is that I've watched games where the fans are totally into it, and it is awesome. And then I've seen home games where the fan response is disappointing (to put it mildly). Chances are, if you're reading this, you're not the problem. But you might be surrounded by others that are more worried about an upcoming hip-replacement operation than the Giants playoff chances. If that's the case, please encourage your fellow season ticket holders to: Get into your seats early. Stand, remove your mittens, and clap often. Chant "DE-FENSE" whenever appropriate. Refrain from booing our offense, regardless of how cold Eli is to start the game. Try to stay for most of the game. If you know anyone who has tickets but is unable or unwilling to do any of these things, try to persuade them to give their tickets to their son, daughter, niece, nephew, whatever. Thanks.
  14. You are completely right. ANYTIME you beat the Eagles in Philly, you take that win and just get the hell back up the Turnpike. I don't care who our coach is, who our QB is.....beating Philly, in Philly, has ALWAYS been tough.
  15. Agree. I'm also still concerned about Eli's ability to manage a game in poor weather conditions, so I'd prefer Tampa over Seattle.
  16. That's terrific. We need this guy badly. It's clear to me that Smith is going to eventually emerge as Manning's go-to guy. When he's healthy, Plaxico can be a game-breaker. But the Giants need another receiver that has great hands and can run quick routes. He's a perfect complement to Toomer as the 3rd WR.
  17. Your comments, as usual, are off base. Considering the season is only 75% complete, with a full round of playoff to follow, let's see how everything plays out this year. As a Cowboy fan, you should be more concerned with your own team's questions. For example, how will Romo, the Goat of 2006 playoffs, fare this postseason?
  18. I think you're right. I suppose Coughlin was concerned about losing a down, given how generally-crappy our placekicking snaps are. The logic might have been to have an extra down available in case of a botched snap.
  19. How about the decision to run the ball instead of kicking the field goal with 00:01? Conventional wisdom says to take the knee, burn Chicago's final timeout, and then kick what is basically an extra point. Hindsight is 20:20, but I have to say I understood where Coughlin was coming from - Tynes has missed several chip-shot FGs and PAT's this season, and I have to say I was more optimistic about putting the ballgame in the defense's hands than Tynes. I'm sure those O.B. kickoffs by Tynes had something to do with Coughlin's logic. God forbid the Bears win on a Hail Mary....the NY Media would be out with torches and pitchforks this morning. Just goes to show how badly we need a dependable kicker. It's a lot more fun to play coulda-woulda-shoulda when your team wins
  20. That Bears game was like a magic tonic. All the doubts that were creeping in after the Vikings game, all the misgivens that were erasing memories of past Eli combacks, were suddenly swept away in an amazing 7:00 span yesterday. I agree with your criticism of some of the playcalling, but this game proved just how important the QB position can be. For three quarters, the so-called "bust" was playing. But in the 4th quarter, a QB showed up that looked like he was worth every penny that Accorsi spent.
  21. Eli needs to reduce the mistakes more than anything else.....the Giants had a minimum of 9 points, and max of 21 taken off the board directly because of his turnovers. The Urlacher INT was a sure 3, the "open hand" fumble was another 3, and that INT in the end zone was almost a backbreaker. Give him credit though....he made the passes he needed to pull out the win.
