  1. No doubt! I live out in Chicago, and last year after the Bears game was just brutal. It's going to be great to drive into work listening to the local Chicago sports radio meatheads choking on their own bile. Yes....they are that bad - they hate New York, and spare no opportunity to bust on New York whenever they lose....the inferiority complex is starggering.
  2. He just seems so much more comfortable in the hurry up. I know it's not feasible for Eli to be in an hurry up all game, but I definitely think they need to compare film of Eli in the hurry up v the standard offense and try to determine if there are some sort of positive and negative trends to improve and eliminate, respectively.
  3. I understand what you're saying. I've been pretty supportive of both Coughlin and Manning, and critical at times too. But Coughlin gets it with both barrels, regardless of the circumstances, and this article is just another example of a complete reach by a sportswriter who has an axe to grind.
  4. I'm all for sticking with Coughlin at this point. However, if they let go Coughlin, I'd really only be happy with Parcells, and not for nostalgia's sake. Just look at every team that Parcells has inherited, and look what the results have been. He set the table for the Giants - too bad George Young completely fucked up the sucessor (hmmmm Ray Handley or Bill Belichick.....let me think that one over). He took a God-awful Patriots team to the Super Bowl. He took a crap-sandwich Jets team and turned them into an AFC power. He took a mediocre Cowboys team and gave them a winning record, and found them the best new QB in the NFL (not that the media will give him any credit for that.....they credit Wade Phillips "laid back style"....what a crock of shit that is). Fact is, Parcells has wanted back in, and would jump at the chance. He could return this team to old time Giants football, and mentor a great new coach once he retires for good. Parcells wants to return to the Giants before it's all over. Mark my words.
  5. Without a ring. Look up "hot-and-cold" QB, and Boomer's face jumps out.
  6. Yes, I read the whole thing. This comment forms the basis of his argument: "...But in the blame game played after yet another heartless home loss to Minnesota, Manning didn't deserve to be sacked as much as his head coach did....." That comment is completely wrong. Anyone who watched the game with even casual interest can tell you that the greatest blame rests with Eli. Sure, other teammates and the coaching staff didn't bring their "A" game. But Eli's "F" game doomed it all. It's ludicrous that such a story even made it's way into a sports section.
  7. Agreed.....McNabb is McFinished. Look at the jobs that Feeley and Garcia have done replacing him. Statistics can be deceiving - he was All-World against Detroit, but since then, he's not much to talk about. The best thing that could happen to the Giants would be to play McNabb again.....I'm more worried about Feeley at this point.
  8. I have to say that scrambling is an area that Eli could use some work on. There's nothing wrong with picking up even 3 yards....turning a 2nd and 10 into a 2nd and 7 is a pretty big deal.
  9. Al Davis deserves honorable mention when the League MVP voting comes in. It's not often that you pick up a Hall of Famer for a 4th round draft pick. On behalf of all non-Patriots fans, here's a big "fuck you" to Al Davis.
  10. Yep, that was the ball game right there. Fact is, Coughlin and Gilbride put together a reasonable game plan......pass against the worst passing defense in the league. And to their credit, they were able to run on them too. After that 60 yard bomb, the Giants drive to tie the score 7-7 by running it right at them. Heck, I was feeling pretty good at that point. Again, it's clear to me where the blame lies on this one - right on Eli. I'm the first guy to defend him against haters, and the first to praise him for a good game. He was terrific against the Lions, and was clearly the best player on the field in Detroit. But he was - by a long shot - the worst player last week. If he is unable to outplay Rex Grossman next weekend, we are in a world of hurt.
  11. With all due respect, that column is a steaming pile of horseshit. Why are the Patriots undefeated?......Brady. Why is Belichick a genius in New England?.....Brady. Why was Bill Walsh a genius in San Fran?.....Montana. Why was Belichick run out of Cleveland?......broken down QB. Why do the Colts still have a chance to repeat?......Peyton Why are the Cowboys 10-1?......Romo. Whay are the Packers 10-1?......Favre. Why did the Giants just get their asses kicked by a mediocre team?......Eli. Listen, I still like Eli a lot, but sometimes you've got to just look at the facts - Eli DIRECTLY GAVE THE VIKINGS 28 POINTS. There's nothing to argue here about Coughlin, Plax, etc. Go ahead and put Brady and Moss on the Giants offense.....I bet Tom Coughlin would look like the reincarnation of Vince Lombardi then.
  12. I've said this before, and it bears repeating - Manning needs to talk to Phil Simms about becoming an effective cold-weather game manager. Maybe he should start wearing a glove or something. Back in the day, I was always thrilled in late November and early December when the weather got poor in the Meadowlands. It gave the Giants a distinct advantage, because Simms always played the conditions better than the opposing QB. It's the same reason why Favre has historically been so dominant up in Lambeau. If Manning can't handle cold weather and bad conditions, he has no business being the QB of the Giants.
  13. Now that my blood pressure is finally back to normal, maybe that ass-kicking was really a blessing in disguise. The Giants should certainly realize at this point that they are head and shoulders above absolutely nobody. After that Cowboys game, the Giants still believed that they were among the class of the NFC....just a couple plays away from beating Dallas, blah, blah, blah. We saw it against Detroit - a win, but certainly not a dominant performance. Well, the Vikings took a clubbing to the G-men because they respected their opponent, and treated the game as a must-win. Now, the Rest of the Pack is nipping at the Giants heels, and you've got to be worried about the Patriots game....I wouldn't want that to be a must win game for the Giants. The Giants need to beat the Bears desperately....it's about as close to a must-win as you can get.
  14. Exactly. Someone needs to teach him how to tuck the fucking ball and start scrambling up field. Seems like opposing QB's do that all the time to our defense.
  15. I'm not going to argue with that....the entire team had a hand in this debacle. But clearly, this was a game that Eli lost. That was perhaps one of the worst performances by a Giants QB that I have ever seen.....and that includes some real shit sandwich efforts. If the Giants fail to make the playoffs, and we get a couple more of these numbers from the offense, then if I'm Jerry Reese, I'm making a phone call to get a veteran QB and drafting another one for 2008.
  16. That's terrible news. But given Taylor's track record, I have a hard time believing that this was just a simple burglary. I'm sure as news comes out that this story will become more complicated.
  17. This is another game for the Giants to lose. On paper, there is no way the Bears crappy offensive line, slow running game, and turnover-prone QB should have any chance against the Giants. And the Bears defense is soft against the run. Then again, Eli was supposed to carve up the WORST pass defense in the league, and looked like a complete asshole out there, so I'm not predicting anything after what I was just forced to watch yesterday.
  18. I have to agree. I've supported him ad nauseum, but yesterday pretty much used up my patience. Time to take the fucking diapers off this kid.
  19. Your avatar is awesome. Roper Rules.
  20. Wear it with pride, my friend. Anyone who has a problem with the jersey is a douchebag, and therefore below your concern.
  21. I second your fuck and raise you a mutha. That sucks rocks.
  22. This kid hits the hole like Dirk Diggler on Viagra.
  23. I'm not sure what the story is with Jacob's hamstring, but if Bradshaw gets some decent playing time this weekend, he is going to turn some heads. Every time I've seen the kid play, it's pretty clear he was a steal of a pick. Yes, he needs to protect the ball, but I think he'd be a great improvement over Droughns as an all-duty back. Droughns is great as a short yardage guy, but he won't scare people like I think Bradshaw will.
