  1. strahan's agent shopped around for trades during the holdout, he didn't get too far. if we get to 1-4 or 0-5 i'll be pretty pissed if we go on some meaningless streak to finish 7-9 or 8-8, missing the playoffs and getting a shitty pick

    John Fox

whenever i want to know someone's contract situation i just google their name with the word 'contract', usually you'll find the news article from the past that tells you the exact terms. as for fox he signed a 5 year extension last season so i dont think we have a shot at him
  3. i think that's it in a nutshell. sure the market was out of control this offseason but it'll only get worse as the acceleration of bumping up the salary cap increases every season. i think it also speaks to the fact that ownership extended coughlin with the condition: "ok, you're blaming injuries and your main detractor will be out of the locker room next season, we'll give you another chance with the exact same team since you're telling us 2006 had nothing to do with your coaching"
  4. ward had 90 yards on 15 carries. so what if he picked them up in chunks? that's how tiki used to get his yards too
  5. your right, IMO it does seem like the type of injury that could happen to anyone, but nonetheless the facts are he got hurt on his sixth carry of the season. hopefully he'll prove that it was just a fluke and that he's a resiliant back. if not, the one bright spot is that ward is very capable of spelling or splitting the load and bradshaw (if he cures his fumblitis, paging dr. coughlin) seems legit too.
  6. to be fair we're juding him on 6 rushes, and im sure the coaching staff was in his ear about turning the recklessness down a smidge since he was supposed to have been relied on to carry the load all season
  7. if we had just tanked those 2 games we won in the 2nd half we could've drafted patrick willis and we'd have a new coach
  8. imwith you on coughlin, i thought he was a good hire and up until the beginning of last season i was fine with him as our coach, but week after week he made bonehead decisions and it started catching up to us in the win column. i'd much rather have parcells, i think he and reese would do a great job with the draft
  9. yeah im on board with that move too, especially when you consider what we have to work with now :brooding:
  10. jacobs is fine. he averaged over 4 yards per carry and is much faster and quicker than people give him credit for
  11. yeah i just saw an article saying the pats gave him an extension. i can definitely see parcells happening
  12. im convinced jerry reese considered this a throw away year fromthe beginning, im sure he's thrilled about the bellicek situation and hopes kraft wont want him back
  13. supposedly the reds want to pick up dunn's option and trade him, abreau's got an option, and im pretty sure cameron and bradley are free agents too. there's also this japanese dude fukudome who is supposed to come to the majors next season, he's really good and he'll be a free agent so there wont be a posting process. he's a .300,+ 30 hrs, 100 rbi, 45 doubles player in japan and is supposed to be good in the field with a cannon for an arm. my money's on luis gonzalez though as he is old and hispanic
  14. it's 130 at bats or 45 days of major league service time excluding playing time after 8/31 of any season and dl stints
  15. if the rockies make the playoffs holliday is winning it
  16. ...but....but....he's so smart! he got good grades in college, just ask him
  17. im sure they'll try, especially if they dont make the playoffs. btw i sent you a PM
  18. The injury cancer strikes again. You better call up Tom, I hear he can control injuries in the NFL
  19. i think he still has a few years left on his deal. i think his contract was for six or seven years. in retrospect it's not as bad a deal as people say it is. six or 7 years at 50 mil was a lot back when he signed the deal but these days it probably puts him at fair market value
  20. who argues that joe is good with the bullpen? i think everyone is in agreement that it's a serious flaw of his. why do you think cashamn had to institute the 'joba rules'
  21. i can't believe lorenzen did that. this is the same guy who threw his body around in the preseason last season and was brought in for qb sneaks during the regular season. it seemed really out of character for him to do that
  22. that would require the coaching staff making an adjustment
