  1. im with you 100%. those guys come first, but if we can retain these guys and add hall, why not? we're not rebuilding, we're a superbowl championship team--if we can get better NEXT season at the expense of a pick or two i don't think we'll be shooting ourselves in the foot. now if we were the dolphins? i'd be 100% against it, one cb at 10 mil a season on a lousy team (w/ or w/o him) is a waste of money and the picks are more valuable.
  2. we dont know that that's the case though.
  3. how many times can we get lucky in the draft? all the scouting in the world can't guarentee the player will be a pro-bowler--hall already is. we have to realize that we got extremely lucky with ross, cbs are generally a huge crapshot in the draft
  4. i think true shut down corners are worth whatever the market says they are. if we consider hall to be a shutdown corner then im willing to pay the premium considering his age. i know we won the superbowl and i know webster made some good plays but i still dont trust him enough to man the #2 cb spot when the #1 cb has even less experience than him. i'd much rather have ross as the 2 and webster as the nickel--at least this season. and the bottom line is that hall is better than anyone we can get w/ the 31st pick, and if this cason guy is better than hall then in 3-4 years we'll have the same problem when he becomes a free agent--only this time we'll be talking about 12 or 13 million instead of 10
  5. how is 10 mil a year 40% of the cap?
  6. his contract was a bargain when he signed it, right now he's probably the most underpaid player in the game
  7. yeah, those two actually collaborated on some daily news steroids articles before quinn left. it's really weak that these guys made careers out of an issue that only 10% of fans (and the number decreases everytime one of their teams players gets exposed) and the media care about
  8. they do too. but the daily news spends tons of paper space on this stuff and they visibally get annoyed when they aren't credited to their satisfaction for the steroid related stories they break. they had this dude tj quinn--completely unknown for years--they made him a Steroids investigative reporter and he turned it into a job at espn. lupica doesn't shut up about clemens, bonds, etc---well when he's not talking about politics
  9. doesn't need saving, i think the best solution is for all the 'baseball experts' in the media turn their focus back on the game instead of the roids, as it's quite clear that the majority of the fans don't care about PEDs. we can start wtih the ny daily news--who apparently fancies itself as the steroids police
  10. agreed. perfect makeup for a closer
  11. we're the best team in football, what's left to discuss? :worshippy:
  12. i dont wnat to hear it. we got a royal screw job in 2002 in the niners game and you didn't see us making sites like that
  13. i was just listing heavyweights. otherwise robinson would've been there. i agree with your guys though, holmes was a glaring omission on my part, im surprised too cuz he's one of my personal favorites
  14. bah...the one day i couldn't miss school
  15. he has a pretty big cap number next season, that's the only reason im not arguing this. i honestly think this isnt the right offense for him, but as you said we won the superbowl w/o him so that doesn't matter. i read a few days before the game that if he were still on crutches he wouldn't be on the sidelines. not sure if that was actually the case on sunday, but it's something to consider.
  16. they dont make shit. the hall monitor at my high school was this old man way past retirement and he's an ex referee
  17. no problem here, we got our championship, everythign else that happens for the next few years is gravy as far as im concerned.
  18. maybe you can only challenge certain penalties. otherwise im sure we'd see more red flags for pass interference no-calls
  19. wow, so perhaps they changed the rule or something. i had never ever heard of any type of challenge regarding a penalty until this game. i was going nuts during that
  20. since when can you challenge a penalty or non-penalty? did they change the rule or something? im referring to the 12 men onthe field penalty
  21. thanks jets. and don't give up. it took 14 years of being a fan of sports for me to finally see a championship from one of my teams, it'll pay off for you someday
  22. Herc

    Eli MVP

yeah but the chargers got rivers, merriman, and kaeding.
  23. i aint happy about it. im not interested in a competing NL team getting better, but it could've been worse, the dodgers could've gotten him
  24. and it'snot just about the yanks, the red sox arguably made better offers as well. the twins knew they had no leverage and the only thing you can do in that situation is to act as if you have plenty, they did a good job but didnt know when to cash out (when hughes and melky + others were on the table). that gm is awful
  25. yeah but he's on the braves so he'll suddenly get good again
