  1. It might not be bad if he can still play in the middle. He did have a nice start to his career before he was injured and then Wally Pipped by Luke Keuchly.
  2. I didn't want Beason in the draft, I sure don't want him several years and an achilles later. Hope I'm wrong about him, but I'm not optimistic....
  3. I think I only saw Austin flash a couple times this preseason. I also saw his ass getting knocked off the ball.
  4. Do those things (bolded), and I don't think we are complaining about Eli's performance. Granted, I think we'd be seeing a lot of long drives that culminate in field goals, but his numbers would be right there where they should be. Gilbride's play design is exceptional, but somebody needs to remind him to sustain a freakin drive once in a while. He has them running 7 steps and 3 vertical routes, seems like at least once every set of downs, its almost a damn joke.
  5. Got to get Scott off the field. On a couple of those 3rd down draw plays, Wilson at least might have had a chance to make the conversion. And Scott's dropped pass was ugly.
  6. Yeah, I remember by the time Strahan really started to come on strong I was thinking that maybe one of his backups was the future. Jamal Duff! LOL... I think it was that very season that Strahan showed that he was a future hall of famer, and Duff... well, he showed very nice speed against the Redskins for one game, and then... ::poof::...career over.
  7. Especially asking the guy to run such slow developing routes. Of course on the first play of the game they send Wilson out wide and run a quick hitting WR screen to him. Which of course won't fool anybody until they've run that formation and sent the halfback out on actual passing routes... until that happens, they're going to sit on the screen to the halfback every time.
  8. Funny, because several Giants were overheard in the training room this morning complaining of the same ailment.
  9. Alternate take on JPP here. Obviously he's not up to par yet - could be because he's just now getting through the acclimation period that every other player got in training camp, or it could be because he simply didn't get himself in good enough shape. Or maybe... he's still growing. He didn't get much weight room time as a younger man, and this dude is freakin huge. Maybe his future is at defensive tackle.
  10. His name is Clowney. That is not a football player name. Pass. We must learn from the Guy Whimper Experiment.
  11. I'm calling it now. 12-0 the rest of the way, division champs. Championshit!
  12. He got paid.... Then he mailed it in. Fuck him, I'm done with Beatty. He's officially my least favorite Giant.* *I am assuming he's not playing with some sort of undisclosed injury. But it looks like he just doesn't care out there.
  13. Definitely the wrong call. Cruz would have been right there, he just stopped running when he saw the ball going out of bounds. Little hustle from Cruz would have been nice there though, would have removed all doubt.
  14. Oh, I just about wanted to smash my TV when I saw them line up in short yardage in an obvious student-body-right formation with #83 in the middle of it all. Sure enough, Myers gets pushed down the line and his assignment blows up the play. Turnover on downs. It was a bad play call to begin with, but Myers is so shit terrible at blocking it never stood a chance. Definitely have to examine Jerry Reese going forward; other than Cruz, the people he's chosen to pay free agent money - Beatty, Baas, and Myers most notably - are not worth the money and stand to ruin this team for seasons if they can't get out from under their cap cost.
  15. I only saw one, but even so, allowing "only" two sacks would make him arguably the most productive player on the NYG offensive line on Sunday. That was easily the worst offensive line play I've seen from the Giants since the 2001 or 2003 seasons. Maybe the worst I've seen from any team.
  16. At 0-3, I'm grateful the NFC East is arguably the worst division in the NFL. Each and every one of these teams looks like it has no business in the playoffs, but one of 'em has to go, so why not us?
  17. LOL... man, it was obvious after one drive that the offensive line was getting manhandled and outclassed. It took Gilbride until halftime to concede defeat and shorten up the passing game to get the ball out of there. I think a lot of Kevin Gilbride's play design, I really do. But the Giants definitely have a tendency to stubbornly stick by a failed game plan.
  18. Here's what I want to know... has Kevin Gilbride ever heard of a 3 step drop?
  19. He's been quite good so far. Given where he was picked, I couldn't be happier.
  20. Ki-Jana Carter, man what might have been had he not had a brutal knee injury. Poor guy never got a chance to show the NFL what he was made of.
  21. Barnwell is a great commentator, used to read him on FootballOutsiders.com all the time. And coincidentally, I knew Bill when he was like 14 or 15, I was a bit older, in another digital life long, long ago.
  22. good point Herc. but I feel bad for the players too... they have so few years in the league and opportunities for success, so for their GM to say 'fuck the lot of you, I'm hitting reboot', well, its pretty low.
  23. To me, the white flag isn't quite as much about trading Richardson as it is naming the 3rd string QB the starter. They are trying to lose.
