  1. I think this is the first time I've ever seen an NFL team deliberately throw a season. Its disgraceful.
  2. 'Son, we lost ten games with you. We can lose ten games without you too.'
  3. I'm not interested in making a civil rights statement at the expense of the football team, but if Rhodes can still ball, then I'm 100% behind him. Behind him in a completely non gay way, just so we're clear.
  4. well, if that kid isn't family, then there's nothing alleged about his sexuality.
  5. With our luck, the 'Skins will get their act together just in time for their tilt against the Giants. But they look like total ass right now.
  6. Hynoski will turn it around, weeks 1 & 2 were his preseason. JPP too. I've got a little faith that they'll get back to their normal selves, its just a shame we had to sacrifice regular season snaps to get them up to speed. With the limited contact in practices these days, its the only way to get players ready.
  7. you can really see it on the kick returns. He looks completely disheartened.
  8. Change it? This is Gilbride's thing, and Coughlin believes in it, it's not changing. Some of the picks, like the one I was referencing earlier, it reminds me of the days of Shockey and Burress. Toomer was money on this stuff though. Doesn't seem to happen to Cruz or Nicks. I think its all about the players involved - with good communication its damn near unstoppable.
  9. ha, yeah, he had a couple really sweet moves on that run though. He did pretty well to turn that into a 2 yard gain, there was nothing there but lost yardage for most backs. Wilson, man, I love his potential, but he isn't yet the player I thought he would be.
  10. Eli throwing to god-knows-who is a side effect of the Giants read and react offense. Like the one over Randle's head into the end zone, Eli cut that ball loose obviously thinking that Randle was going towards the back right pylon, but then at that moment Randle breaks it off into a hook route. It looks like an ugly INT on the QB, but we can't really know who's fault that was, all we know is that one of the two guys, Randle or Eli, made the wrong read.
  11. Eli = clutch* *except when Peyton is on the opposing sideline
  12. I'd be more worried about Kelly's offense had Belichick not already brought the same principles to the NFL. And I'm pretty sure that was a couple Giants Super Bowl victories ago.
  13. yeah, I know how you feel. Vick's just a guy who is easy to hate. I will give him props for doing some serious blocking this past week though. Hard nosed player, thats for sure. Kind of a shame the thread got hijacked by Vick's personal life, I think the 2013 Eagles are a very interesting team. I expect them to go down in flames, which probably means they'll make the playoffs.
  14. The story was that he was giving women STDs on purpose, like it was some kind of a joke. Thats certainly a little rapey. Maybe I shouldn't believe every hearsay thing that pops up in the media, but by that time I'd already heard so many terrible things about the guy that I just assumed the worst. Little background: I went to high school with a woman who married one of Vicks teammates at Virginia Tech... so its coming up on draft time, and all the talking heads on ESPN are talking about how Vick is such a wonderful leader and all his teammates love him, the usual shit... but I heard it from the teammate, who I'll leave nameless because he also played in the NFL, and he had nothing but terrible things to say about Vick. He kept it civil, tried to keep the locker room stuff where it belongs, but he couldn't help but make it clear that Vick was of extremely low moral character and that his teammates in fact did not respect him at all. Basically said that jail time was in his immediate future, and that it could be for any number of things once he wasn't getting the BMoC treatment any longer.
  15. I think I would have rather seen Joan Jett do the rendition, that might have been cool. I really despise the Sunday Night Football theme song, Faith or Carrie, either way its just miserable to listen to.
  16. Eh.... was about to say 'true', but I'm not sure I feel the same. It just depends... are we talking about week 1, or the Super Bowl?
  17. yeah, its bullshit. I'd definitely wager the Giants feel better about themselves after that game than the Cowboys do. Although I'll concede that it looked like an 8-8 team handing the game to a 5-11 team.
  18. That's how I felt about Sapp on Clifton.
  19. supposed to be, until I hijacked it with a snide comment about BCS schools. ::smacks forehead::
  20. I'm only aware of drug use in LT's past... and I couldn't care less about crimes against one's self. The underage hooker thing... well, thats decidedly uncool. But at least he paid her! LOL Roethlisberger on the other hand, if what I hear about his time in college is true, he's raped a hell of a lot more than 3 women.
  21. thigh, knee, whatever... there was no reason for him to cut that guy. Looked like a flagrant attempt to injure to me.
  22. I'm not sure about those US News rankings... I was shocked at some of the schools they had ranked highly. Maybe things have changed since I was going through that process, but I see schools that gladly accepted what I knew to be very non-academic people, just average students with average test scores, up in their top 50, alongside much more difficult to get into schools. Got to be bullshit.
  23. heh, I was just perusing the latest US News/World Report rankings. I take back what i said about USC, they had it ranked in the top 30 as well. You were dead on regarding BC, and BU was just behind them at like #40.
