  1. I was just thinking about this... what happened to Damontre Moore, did he get hurt? He looked like he would be a presence this season....
  2. Yeah, its a different defense when Beason is out there. Still, you aren't beating any competent offense by constantly rushing three. I think I can count on one hand the number of times the Giants attacked with four or more pass rushers. We knew the talent wasn't there, but the scheme didn't give them a chance either.
  3. On the offensive side of the ball, I think execution was a far bigger problem than play calling. Penalties, fumbles, poor blocking... pretty sure none of those things are in the playbook. I think if you want to get on a coach, get on Fewell. I don't understand trying to get home with only three pass rushers. And once it became apparent that the Giants were constantly dropping 8 in coverage, Romo got real comfortable back there and starting teeing off.
  4. I think going nickel against Philly is pretty much conventional wisdom... wait, Andy Reid is still their coach, right?
  5. lol, he was good for throwing three or four daisy cutters a game. But on the bright side, all those throws in the dirt kept his INTs down.
  6. And they were 1 score up without their two best players on defense. I'd call it a wash.
  7. I think there are five or six guys here with a better football IQ than Donovan Doesn't-Know-the-Rules McNabb.
  8. yeah, its a rent a player trade mid-season, and he doesn't even know the system.
  9. Yeah, Barwin is pretty good. He's a total d-bag, but I love the way he plays. I was not impressed with Pugh's aggression or technique though. Doesn't matter who he was lined up against, any NFL pass rusher was going to have a field day the way he was playing.
  10. Given the way Jerry and Pugh played, an execution may be exactly what they need. No surprises in there, the article pretty much confirmed what I thought I saw too.
  11. I know, and he also blatantly takes plays off.
  12. he's in good enough shape that I wouldn't say that to his face.
  13. lol, he may ride the short bus, but I'd still take JPP over either Thomas or Graham.
  14. If only we could get him to go hard every snap, far too often he just sits back and waits to knock down a pass. I thought he did well against Peters though. Didn't get home, but probably should have drawn a couple holds. JPP isn't a good football player though. Great natural talent, but the man doesn't really understand the game.
  15. Agreed. Hate to say it, but I don't think the defense was lacking in intensity - I don't think they were prepared for the pace. A few times I saw an interior lineman, Hankins in particular, get completely pancaked right at the snap; it seemed to me like they weren't quite ready yet. I think it got better as the game went on, but by that point it was too late. Next time around they'll be more prepared; I'm actually fairly optimistic about the defense's chances when they get the Eagles at home. I don't know about the offense though. They have work to do....
  16. True, but honestly I still think there was some collusion between the player's leadership and the ownership.
  17. I agree. And the players, I still don't understand how they got rolled so badly in the last collective bargaining agreement. The league is all about the players, there is no league without them. They should have held out for far more than they accepted.
  18. They should have to guarantee the contracts, and just not count it against the cap if a guy has to be cut. Also, expand the roster size. A big problem with guys playing injured is that teams just don't have enough prepared players. If Kevin Ogletree was already on the roster, and Cruz was having some minor knee issues, maybe he could have had a little more rest and avoided the huge injury.
  19. Thats a good point, but San Francisco has a few linebackers with better sideline-to-sideline speed than McBride. I have to question the talent on this team if McBride is even on the roster.
  20. I get your point. Maybe he'll improve, but right now I'm not sure he does anything well enough to be any one thing. In a good WR squad, he's an extra body.
  21. Yeah, if Randle was our #3, I'd be happy.
