If we go LB in round 1, who do you want?

People used to talk sensibly about the draft in here, where was I back then and where are all these people now?

I know diddly squat about college players.. and the way to get my attention is to provide an analysis about from freak of nature draftee and supply at least one youtube clip of the dude. So.. who's our next Ray Lewis or LT for that matter?

not a chance. We will take the best fit/available OL there. Right it down.

But why? Our entire starting 5 OL are under contract for next season, we have recent signings and picks as well that are part of the future in Beatty, Andrews, and Petrus... I could see a DT even before an OL. I wouldn't mind another mid-round pick at OT, but I don't think there's urgency to address it in the first round. We are possibly losing Cofield and Tollefson to free agency, too. I think most likely, they are going RB, TE, or LB. I'm hoping we get the best LB on the board.

LB's and Tight Ends- that's how New England did it this year. May be worth a thought, Jerry.

I want Kyle Rudolph, Resign Boss pair them in a two TE set. It will work if Gilbride lets it . I do not think there's a LB worth a first rounder at least not one that fits in 4-3. Ayers, Miller and Houston are all 3-4 guys, Miller could play strongside in 4-3 possibly but he doesn't have a 1st round grade and he would be a work in progress. The free agency class is pretty solid, we could get David Harris who's been playing in the Jets 3-4 but I think he more naturally fits into the 4-3. Chad Greenway would be great but no way is Minnesota letting him go. I would even settle for D'Qwell Jackson, I liked him coming out Maryland and he would fit the Tampa 2, he would also compliment Boley well. Also why is everybody going OL,OL,OL? we only gave up 16 sacks last year, 2nd least in the NFL. We have all 5 starters under contract and great depth, I wouldn't mind a RT in the later rounds. Someone like Nate Potter would be great, but I don't see OL in the 1st round. OL to me is the least of our worries.

EDIT: Sorry I got ahead of myself, there will be no FA signings next year and no NFL. Also the world is gonna end by time we do get NFL back at least there's college and it seems alot of players are returning to school, maybe because of this fact.

Why do people reference a 2 TE Set every time a TE is mentioned in the draft like it's a viable gameplan? If our current TE is good enough we don't need to spend a high draft pick on another one. If he's not, turf him.

What's wrong with a two TE set? I mean, it's not like you would run it all the time, but it gives the defense a different look and if you have 2 good combo TE's it's a very versatile formation.

The thing is though, if Gilly is still our guy going ito next season he never uses TEs.

I highly doubt going into a game a team is thinking "Oh Gilly is going to dial up a heavy passing game centered around his TEs" heck when you think about it we have an offensive lineman playing TE more then Bear.

Lol, that's true, but to be fair to Bear that's more because he became the team's fullback, and did an outstanding job at that. Long live the Pascoe swing pass!

How is 2 TE & 1 WR more versitile than 1 TE & 2 WR?

I didn't say it was more versatile, I said it was versatile. But typically you would have to account for the extra TE moreso as a receiver than you would a FB in a 1 TE & 2 WR set, unless of course, your fullback is Bear Pascoe. :flex: Also, you still have 2 WRs in a 2 TE set, just wanted to make that clear.

First off, Boss is just good enough. The Patriots run two TE sets and its the reason their offense is so good. They drafted two guys last year and they have been dominate has rookies. Baltimore drafted two TE's last year and they have Heap, who's one of the elite TE's in the NFL. Pitta and Dickson will be their future

They run a lot of 2 TE sets in the red zone because they have no running game to punch the ball in with but they don't see a huge amount of use outside that. I think Gronkowski has a TD every 4 receptions or something.

I read that Ayers could possibly play any of the linebacker spots in a 4-3. I dont watch much college ball and I only start looking at prospects starting around this time of year. Any insight would be appreciated. If that scouting report is accurate he sounds like he could be a good option.
