I can’t deal with copy/paste/edit/copy/paste thing today.  Jeremy Fowler tweeted it

It's ok, you're no Lughead. We trust you.

The #Giants signed Devin Singletary to a 3-year, $16.5 million deal worth up to $19.5 million (5.5 AAV), per @AdamSchefter

Backup contracts this year.

Guess they are going full rebuild while Jones is still on the books.

Not a bad idea, we have gone through half asses rebuild after rebuild.

Schoen doing the full monty this year.

Singletary isn't bad.  Still hope to see something from Grey, but he was sluggish as hell last year.  Aside from them, who is even in the committee?

Seems like a good spot to fill with a mid to late draft pick, imagine landing ourselves a Pacheco

If a full on rebuild, they might as well cut Jones and eat the cap hit this year.

With these contracts being signed, I can't see the Giants getting much more than players like this or JR. with the cap situation.

This year is basically a wash to clean the books and go into next season with a cleaned out roster and cap.

Ain't that been the case since Schoen got here?

They will keep him, and give the new guy a few weeks to get ready.

Looks like we are definitely in full rebuild mode, again

If it was the case they would of never resigned Jones.

Teams in rebuild dont sign backup QBs to 160 million dollar deals lol

I honestly think Schoen and Dabs maybe not panicked but were surprised by the 2022 results.

We overachieved and beat a weak team in the playoffs.

Maybe they thought 2023 would be the same with  minimal roster building.

I was referring to the taking a year to clear old (bad) contracts off the books.  Seems we have to do that every year to our own detriment while teams like the chiefs can drop 158mil over 5 on Chris Jones...despite having a QB at 50mil per

There is no question Daniel Jones timing has had an impact between his being overdrafted in a year of not great options and being resigned when his contract was up when there weren't great options and he was coming off a playoff win.  Giants were very much fucked into a corner.

We got Gettlemans bad contracts off the books.

Schoen hasn't reaplced any one of those bad contracts with anyone talent wise (so far) and he's dished out his own shit contracts i.e. Jones.

The simple solution and most obvious one was to tag Jones.

Even if they didnt resign Barkey to a longer contract Jones on a one year deal after having a below average year is a good thing to have.

For some reason they bet on Jones, when all signs pointed to never bet on Jones lol

Might have had more to do with how close they thought they were in negotiations with each.  Guessing they thought pretty confidently they were gonna get Barkley done.

Oh well.  5 more years of bullshit ahead.
