BlueInCanada
So Webb may or may not be the future, probably not but who knows. Anyways with the season essentially tanked, when do the Giants start thinking of "conserving" Eli this year? I know Eli would never agree to just sit out the rest of the season but could the Giants start manning for a couple quarters then just give the reigns over to Webb for the rest of the game? I feel Mara is still in this midset of "NEED TO GET ONE MORE OUT OF ELI" so what's the point of having him get banged up in more meaningless games. He had to go for Xrays due to getting his head smacked today, what happens when it isnt his head next time or his knee or his shoulder?
Sephiroth
McAdoo is playing for his coaching life, Reese for his GM one. I'd say the chances are pretty slim unless one or both has been promised their jobs next season.

Get more out of Eli by letting a half ass gm not bolster his protection. and letting a so call head coach call games like a 5 year old playing madden. How is this working for Mara so far? The Product they are putting on the field cost way to much to go watch.

Passing the game to Webb is essentially a concession of the season. Why start anyone else if you are going to sit Eli Manning to conserve him? Don't they need to be conserved for a season they plan on winning?

BlueInCanada
heh You can fire McAdoo if he benches Eli Manning for Davis Webb. I think it would make it all that much easier actually. Give the new HC/GM a chance to see what you have as the backup.

Storm
Look, Eli Manning isnt going to lead any other team to a Super Bowl. Did anybody watch him today? Constantly fluttering balls behind and over his wide receivers. He is barely a starter at this point in his career.

He didn't play well but I wouldn't go anywhere near thay far.
Storm
If Manning played this poorly on any other team, they would definitely consider sitting him. Inexcusably, the Giants will rest on his laurels and they wont have any idea what they have in Webb.
Dragon
I'm all for seeing what Webb can do, but what can he really show us? Idek who our #1 WR is atm and for as immobile as he is, Eli STILL makes the OL look better than it actually is. Webb goes in there and he's a candidate for paralysis. There's like 12 teams tops with viable QBs, the rest are just scraping by with no bodies who they hope wont lose them the game.

Yep I absolutely don't see what anyone is going to learn from putting Webb in this year behind a bad offensive line with no weapons. Eli Manning had a bad game in the rain, nobody could have done better.
NightFire
Goff did but when we are arguing here (about throwing Eli in) Manning was the number one pick and Webb was definitely not. I guarantee if Eli is benched for Smith or Webb within the week we'll be clamouring for that shitty Eli play.

If they bench Eli....John Elway will be on the phone in a heartbeat saying "Hey...lets talk about Eli when we get a little closer to the draft". I'd like Eli to finish his career with the Giants....but not like this... the Gmen will be in total rebuild mode next year....from GM on down hopefully. Trade #10 to a contender for a couple good picks and have him come back in two years for a 1 day contract to retire as a giants. C. Wagon

Right now we're out of linebackers again. We need another offensive tackle. Maybe we can move Hart to Guard because the guy is killing us at RT. Herc
The rebuild talk is making me ill. We already went through a 3 years of rebuilding and last year was supposed to be year 1 of the ascent. What are we supposed to do with all these guys with too much dead money to cut?

What are we supposed to do with all these guys with too much dead money to cut? There really aren't a lot of players the team is on the hook for when it comes to money. Many of them are in their last year or were only signed for one. Need a smart GM to come in get his head coach and fill some positions in the draft.
