  1. Tough call...Sportsnation should do the poll. Collinsworth comes across as biased against the Giants every time they play. The only redeeming value that Collinsworth has is that he downplays his playing ability accurately. He's not one of these former players who thinks he's God and feels it necessary to say as much now that they're in the broadcasting booth. Bayless is so opinionated that he only sees one side of an argument. A true debater can at least understand where the other side is coming from and make counterpoints...not just continue to be a stick in the mud, unable to move from my one point kinda guy.
  2. Though had we beaten those teams, it's possible we would've rested some guys the last week against Dallas and lost momentum...not saying we would've done that across the board with all starters, but entirely possible we'd have done it with some. Might have been a blessing in disguise losing to Seattle.
  3. I agree that it's definitely a positive for our team. I think Eli's quiet leadership style fits and I have grown to respect it. It took a little bit of time for the league to adjust to it since they're used to the rah rah guys. I just don't know if the HoF voters are ready to vote in a QB that personifies humility and a team first attitude, while not being overly vocal.
  4. With folks estimating he's got another 8 or 9 years...yeah, absolutely has a shot. The only thing that will potentially keep him out is his laid back, take it as it comes, non-aggressive, non-boisterous personality that we all have grown to love and respect.
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=dw-wetzel_tom_brady_super_bowl_gisele_bundchen_defeat_020512 This is perhaps what makes me smile most...the sorrow, the heartbreak, the regret, the shock, the anguish, all over the faces of our opponent knowing all the while...we don't have to deal with any of that.
  6. At the end of the day, there were plays made by both teams and plays left on the field by both teams. The Giants simply made more plays than the Patriots. Overanalyzing one play or one series is simply that...overanalying.
  7. Don't get me wrong, the fact we went from 3-1 to 4-1 in superbowl's trumps all other stats...but I thought it interesting
  8. I could see Detroit making a move for a complimentary WR...having Stafford throw to them would not be the same, but wouldn't be awful for them stat-wise either.

    Chase

I've never been overly excited about Chase, but you could always see that he played with heart. He was our Rudy of sorts. The guy who gave all he had, on every play, and as such, provided energy to the rest of the team. He's earned his spot on this team. That said, I'm glad that the Giants are not complacent with the players they have and are always looking to improve.
  10. Don't know though...they both just watched Boss go to Oakland, for money, and Steve Smith to Philadelphia, for money, and neither (1) set the world on fire or (2) got into the playoffs or (3) won the superbowl. That has to count for something. I hope that they realize that the best thing for the three of them would be to stay together.
  11. Just heard that the Giants set the record for beating teams in playoffs with combined win totals. Beat Atlanta - they had 10 wins Beat Green Bay - they had 15 wins Beat San Francisco - they had 13 wins (14 counting playoffs) Beat New England - they had 13 wins (15 counting playoffs) That's 51 wins (54 counting playoffs) our beaten playoff opponents had. Interesting. Call it strength of schedule of playoff opponents.
  12. Keep the WRs and get some OLine depth. I'd be happy with a TE too, but Ballard hasn't exactly been horrible. Keep the WRs together and keep Eli protected...while strengthening the running game with OLine guys. A LBer would be great to have too. J Williams has gotten better and Boley and Kiwi have been pretty consistent...and with Goff coming back...we might be okay. Greg Jones continuing to develop...who knows.

    9-7

Playoffs are a whole new season...once you're in, anything can happen.
  14. I am glad we got the TD, but it would've been nice to have forced the Pats to use their last TO and to give them less time than what we did. Glad our defense wasn't coasting that last minute...
  15. Sure the ring will make him feel a little better...but yeah, I don't see him coming back.
  16. Well, if they structure the deals appropriately, each could get a higher base salary in alternating years so as to get paid, AND stay together.
  17. Yeah, I can't watch sportscenter...can't listen to espn...can't even go to espn.com...I'm tired of the coverage... Give me the game already.
  18. I'm all for someone who is firm in their beliefs, even if I don't necessarily agree with them...however, if you're so far in one direction that you can't even see or have the patience to hear an opposing point of view...it crosses the line.
  19. They COULD check, assuming you're listed in a phone book. They probably WILL check when they run your credit, a standard practice in refinancing.
  20. I emailed you...that's gotta count for somethin'....how's the whole refinancing deal working out?
