  1. and have come to realize that nobody has any idea what the Giants are going to do. First round projections for the Giants have ranged from TE to LB to OT to even DE. Second round I've seen go from CB to DT to RB to OT...and so it goes for all rounds. It's like these guys are just guessing. I will say that there seems to be some consensus on TE (Allen or Fleener) for the 1st. That said, I'm looking hoping for the following. Bolded are my first choices for the pick. Basically, I'm looking for line depth, the glaring hole at TE, and some secondary depth given Ross will probably be let go and T2 is a FA. 1st - Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State or Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson 2nd - Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia or Bobbie Massie, OT, Mississippi 3rd - Bernard Pierce, RB, Temple or Brandon Brooks, OG, Miami of Ohio 4th - James Michael Johnson, LB, Nevada or Jarius Wright, WR, Arkansas 5th - DeAngelo Peterson, TE, LSU or Donnie Fletcher, CB, Boston College 6th - D'Anton Lynn, CB, Penn State or Nicholas Jean Baptiste, DT, Baylor 7th - Danny Coale, WR, Virginia Tech or Kelcie McCray, SS, Arkansas State I would appreciate comments, understanding that this is after looking at round projections/size/speed stuff. I've not looked at game tapes or any of that yet, so this is an early hopeful list and subject to change.
  2. Wow...and here I thought I'd find some info on TEs and all there is here is a big ol' pile of twisted panties.
  3. Saw this a few days ago... I see his mentioning this as two-fold. While he's willing to work with the Giants, he's laying down a line that shouldn't be crossed or he'll ask for a trade/release. This, to ensure that the Giants don't try to low-ball him. At the same time, it immediately generates discussions with a trade partner/new team. All the while, he wouldn't have to uproot his kids/wife and move them across the country. It's a smart move if you look at it from his perspective. Again, you communicate you're willing to work with your team, but you prepare outs should your ideal situation not come to fruitition.
  4. Color me the dead opposite...I can punt, but can't kick off or kick a FG to save my life.
  5. Just read an article that Chad Jones' doctors cleared him to run/practice. He'll still have to pass the Giant's physical, but he'd be a nice addition to our secondary if he can come back to where he was.
  6. Like I said, I think folks are simply exploring possibilities and repercussions of the what-if scenarios. Not saying we should or shouldn't do anything specifically. So there's no need to get defensive and argue that we should keep this guy or that guy.
  7. Really, I thought Jones was further back than that. Regardless, there would have been greater flexibility in dealing with Rolle's contract had Chad Jones been available.
  8. I'm not so sure that anyone was asking for their head or shipping them off just yet. Rather, I think folks were simply looking at our cap situation, gravitating towards those making the most, and seeing what options were available, to include what impact cutting them would have cap-wise. Yes they're strong players, but in the case of Canty, we've drafted DT recently and may have a replacement already lined up. If it weren't for the Chad Jones accident, we might not have entered into the large contract with Rolle. Again, both have been valuable for us and again, I don't see anyone stating that they didn't contribute heavily to the SB run, but at the same time, if you're always looking to improve, all options should be considered.
  9. http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/53790/nfc-east-cap-review-redskins-in-the-money NFC East cap space...we're over, by a bunch. Not sure if this includes guys like McKenzie or not since he's technically still on the roster. I am not sure when your unsigned guys technically become FAs and their contract officially comes off the books. Maybe it already is...I don't know.
  10. I will see your JLoad and raise you one Dave Brown.
  11. Everyone's saying we're close to the cap...is there a site for this? Has the removal of the un-signed players' salaries been reflected on that yet?
  12. I really wouldn't be surprised given Tolly is a FA this year and Osi will be next year.
  13. pre-game could go entirely to Chris Berman, TJ, Bill Parcels (I'm admittedly biased), and Trent Dilfer....I need no other talking head outside of these for pregame. In game, Aikman, the monday night crew, and Al Michaels round out the tolerable. None are great.
  14. I actually don't mind Keyshawn as much as I do Chris Carter...CC sucks Basically, if they come across as they know more than everyone else just because they played once...I can't stand them. They may very well know more than everyone else, but there's an art to explaining things to others and talking about things you have knowledge about without coming across as a know-it-all piece of shit.
  15. It's a good point as to the type of receiver Cruz is versus the type that Smith was. But given our TE situation, y'know...like not having any healthy, having a possession receiver in the middle of the field might not be a bad idea.
  16. Given his hit in 2012...I'd be okay with that http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-giants/antrel-rolle/
  17. Little over 6 million according to this: http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-giants/kareem-mckenzie/
  18. I hope you're right about T2...though I don't see the market being as tough on him as it seems you do. He was a #1 CB on a good defense. I have to believe there'd be a team out there that'd give him a shot...perhaps though not a superbowl winning team. I don't know about Ross though...I think he might be let go depending upon the progress of Prince. If Ross is #4 on the depth chart, I see him being allowed to test the market.
  19. I'm hoping that both realize now what a team first mentality will get you. This is why when I see T2 tweeting about contract negotiations being a business gets me a bit concerned.
  20. I think that Eli's a lock if he maintains 3500+ yards and 25+ TD seasons while limiting interceptions around 15 for the next 8-10 years. If Eli were to stop playing today, it's borderline given the 2 championships.
  21. Health and Manningham would dictate that. I don't know that SS would be offered anything from the Giants....they tried to lock him up long term once and he chose to try FA...spurning the Giants like that doesn't exactly get you an invitation back.
  22. With Osi being under contract for another year, I think he may return. Otherwise, we'd have to release him. That, or we'd have to be willing to find a team to trade for him when he has a year left on his deal. Other teams may simply wait that extra year until he becomes a FA to just sign him. So that'll limit our trade partners. Given the Giants played a bit of hard ball in the whole contract standoff, I don't know that they'd be in a big hurry to release him. Jacobs may not produce as much on the field, but he's certainly a motivational guy that I think feeds some other players on the team. I don't know that a guy gets paid for that, but I do feel there's some value there. Add to that the fact that he's been willing to restructure his deal to keep other guys here and he's proven to be a team-first guy. Not sure of his cap hit or anything like that, but I'd not be upset if he were back next year. That said, I think we do find another RB to bring in. Ware needs to go. Scott can stay/go...don't care either way.
  23. Not sold on Baas either, but given what we paid him, he's not going anywhere so I go on the assumption he'll be here and he'll play. Tolly is a FA too I think, but he seems content being a role player behind Tuck, Osi, and JPP....enough so that I see him re-signing with us. As for LBer...a stud would be nice, but I guess the point I was trying to make with the younger guys trying to fill the 3rd position is that they may not have had the time they've needed to assume that role just yet. MK and MB are starters. The 3rd LB competition is going to be crazy as is this offseason with Jones, Paysinger, Herzlich, Williams, Blackburn (assuming he's re-signed), Goff (assuming he's re-signed). Part of me thinks that this is enough competition for camp. Part of me wants to draft/sign a stud LB. I'd have to look to see how many LBers we actually carried week-to-week on the 53 man roster.
  24. http://espn.go.com/b...lks-with-giants A little read on T2...it sounds like the Giants are at least going to get the first crack at it. Some guys would just shut their own team down until FA starts. Hopefully, the Giants are smart enough and good enough not to lowball him. He's too good for that.
  25. Look in the mamby pamby section...lol. I know what you're saying...I'm a long sleeve t-shirt underneath the jersey kinda guy...so the big-ness isn't too bad....the length is a bitch though. Got LT and Bavaro in authentic...no need for any more right now. Maybe Eli once he retires in 10 years.
