Would love to know what his asking price is. Yeah, he has been consistent and he is a favorite target on a shitty team...but how much of a dick must you be to hold out on a team that sucks?

Penix is gonna go top 15 because there are more QB needy teams who aren't gonna be able to get the top 3. Giants, Raiders, Vikings, Broncos and maybe even the Cowboys are all gonna be looking hard at McCarthy, Penix, Nix. I think I am on the trade back to 11-15 range and just take Penix...but the injuries scare the shit outta me

My hope is that McCarthy is there at 6 and we entertain the bidding war between the Vikings, Broncos, Raiders...would be nice to be the team raking someone else over the coals for once.

Yeah...I have firmly been in the trade up for Williams/Maye/Daniels if you can...but if not, take best non QB at 6. Would not be mad at trading back and getting Penix at 15 or so either...but that takes someone coming up for somebody...which I hope is why they have been so public about wanting McCarthy...so someone else comes up for him

I would still put Daniels above Penix due to injury concerns alone on Penix...but otherwise agree. I have never seen what everyone else seems to see in McCarthy and like you, and Tiki apparently, don't want him as a Giant.

Maybe they are looking at his ability and injecting that next to Dex and opposite Thibs to derive value. May not make sense to some, but vision doesn't always project based on past stats. You have to take a shot.

We just got that OT from Raiders, yeah? I think that helps hedge Neal. If we trade down and get Penix mid 1st, I too would prefer that over McCarthy at 6. And no doubt the QB position is inflated...especially with QB needy teams at 1,2,3 overall with a couple more in the top 20. I am guessing 6 go in 1st round. Top 4 qbs go in top 11. Penix goes before 20. Someone trades back into 1st for Nix.

2nd round grade is likely because he is the 5th best QB in the class and it is rare to have 5 or 6 qbs go in the firat

Definitely going to see more returns...and will be interesting to see the strategy on the return side. Kicking team doesn't wanna kick short of the 20...that comes out to the 40 same as kicking out of bounds. Kicking team doesn't wanna blast it into or through the endzone...that touchback comes out to 30. Kicking team ideally wants to bloop it with hang time down inside the 5...so it bounces into endzone or is returned. If bouncing into endzone and touchbacked, comes out to the 20. That's pretty straightforward. The return side is where we will see the creative plays because of the kicking team's desire to drop it inside the 20 but not endzone.

No fair catches anymore. Kicks into endzone need downed. Two differwnt touchbacks...if bouncing into endzone from in front and downed, it comes out to 20. Kicks into endzone and downed come out to 30.

If JJ goes top 3, pull the trigger with AZ to get the 4th QB...be it Williams, Maye or Daniels

Holmes ain't a bad special teams guy and has some starting experience. Not a bad depth guy to have. I don't want to see him start either.

I liked Ward. Played with a lot of energy. Last year was definitely a step back and agree, there was no need to resign him

I can be a classy guy...but ain't a one of you want me starting at QB. I wish him the best. Hope he didn't squander his education at Duke.

Everything I read says he is solid in both pass and run blocking and as a G, I don't see him going against many DEs....I haven't seen much on him as far as pulling or athleticism. But given our G situation, if he can keep a DT off whomever the QB is gonna be for 3 or 4 seconds or keep a run lane open long enough so we can get 3 or 4 yards a carry...it would be an incredible improvement

King is one I have had my eye on in drafts so far. Cooper Beebe, G, in the 2nd is another one.

Jones was also Eli the 2nd when it came to demeanor. That was as much a component of his being drafted as anything I believe.

You gotta wonder if McCarthy is there at 6, would the Steelers trade up that far given he could sit behind Russ and Fields... or do they see Fields as their QB of future?

If your scouting department is worth a damn, yeah. But if your scouts get a hard on for a Duke QB, we all know what happens
