  1. What number do we pick in the 4th ? I should say numbers because we get 2 picks. anyone know! I'm trying to coordinate my sunday! thanks !!! 4th (2) / 5th / 7th
  2. I do understand the premise of drafting for talent but this day one has been a circus of pathetic proportions. It seemed that because of that trade we lost ground on alot of good players. It was like that trade down put the whole thing into a tornado! very dissappointed with EA ! Is it just me???
  3. Carpenter goes to Dallas !!! SHit !! that sucks
  4. and that tells you that the odds of them drafting a RB may be slim to none!! If you have this info so does the staff so were back to Defense a OT or WR. Do you think theres a possibility of a TE on Sunday ? Hound mentioned TE T.J. Williams - N.C. State Is this necessary ? I thought that Shiancoe was becoming a decent blocker and improving as a receiver.
  5. I would not understand EA if he drafted a RB (maroney) or any other R Back with the 1st pick. In fact a RB in this draft doesnt make sense. Worrying about Tiki is a waste of time. He simply cant be replaced BUT we have the RB's available right now on our roster to fill the hole. A rookie no matter how great wouldnt do any better than the players we have on the team currently. None of these RB we have had many carries and of course why would they with Tiki in the line up but Ward in my opinion is very impressive. Jacobs and Morton have great talent as well. Lets get our D problems solved first.
  6. I am trying to be the anti FAB 4 and show compassion for my fellow Giants fan. Lets see how long my niceness lasts!
  7. it doesnt cost anything to be nice! but if you like I will be a real prick to you. deal ?
  8. Pizan, Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the depth of your post. It seems like if we cant get a high level DT (watson) than the posibility of picking up a quality DT in the later rounds still exsists and maybe a FA signing in Jackson is still and option. I will be interested in reading your take on Monday after the draft.
  9. i am firm beleiver in doing your job and ELi should let the FO do their job and ELi should do his. If anything letting his exsisting receivers know that he wants other talent out there could have a negative effect if any! What we need from Eli is better accuracy, better reads, less INTS.
  10. Hound thank you for this interesting take on the draft. i speak for all of us when i say we appreciate your effort.
  11. consistancy in the NFL is very important !! i think we would all love consistancy from our pick
  12. thanks for your reply! What is scary is that you love Watson and hate him all in one. Do you think that any of the top players you mention could start or contribute right away? WHat is your take on a FA pick for DT ? I had read that Jackson failed physical and Bruckner was considering retirement are there other FA possibilities? regards, Martin
  13. I have been reading your posts and it seems that you 3 spend a good deal of time on knowing the college market. Its very clear that the Giants have a big weakness at DT more than any other area on the team. As of today we have: Joseph, Robbins, Ducket and Seawright. as i said very weak. Joseph is inconsistant / Robbins had a weight problem and TC problem Unkown status at this point. Ducket is learning and is backup/ Seawright is backup and unkown status My question to all 3 is with the draft saturday what DT would you think the Giants are realistic in getting and would your choice be able to contribute in Sept. or would it be a 1 to 2 year learning curve. Now depending on that opinion if your choice could not contribute what FA player right now would your choice be to sign and why. You were appointed the GM's position and you need to fix this problem so that the giants wont have a big whole in the middle for the up coming season. We welcome your response!! thanks
  14. Fellas the giants are in position with a solid draft to to make alot happen. EA drafts for talent and the truth is we just dont know what he will do. The glaring weakness's we have our mostly on D !! With that said DT right now is the weakest position I see. We have 3 legit players and if J. Seawright is legit than we are in bigger trouble than I thought. With Robbins, Joseph and Ducket we have a huge hole at DT. But if we cant draft a player to help those 3 what will happen? Is EA gonna sign Brickner?? If not I dont see the Giants going into the season with Robbins, joseph, ducket and seawright. THe LB position is a little more stable with Short and Arrington sigining. If we draft a LB (carpenter etc..) we have a pretty good handel on this area. CB is another weak spot. Peterson is probably gone so does webster start? Deloatch? RW ? I dont see a strong starter on the otherside of Madison if Peterson is gone. So CB is a weak spot. Can Ernie pass up a CB knowing dam well we need help?? LT is still a concern and if a good talent comes into round 2 or 3 i fine with that but a WR is insane in this draft. I know EA picks talent first but this team with the right holes filled can honesty go very deep in the playoffs. If there ever was a year that i would put need in front of talent first it would be this year! I hope I didnt offend anyone!
  15. Carbo !!! do the math #11 32 team upper 3rd of the NFL. is there room for improvement ?? always !!! but #11 isnt the middle of the pack!!! sorry try again
  16. i thought ron dane should have been worst pick #1 heismann winner who was a backup with NY and is with Denver.
  17. This was great ! thanks i hope the EA haters understand the value of this post. i thought ernie and coughlin had done a great job taking what was a fassel team that was in shambles and made a great turn around. props to ernie !!! # 11 is the top 3rd of the NFL
  18. that exactly the issue except we have and offensive today that can score some points. We just need to tighten this D and all we fall into place! the team is very close in my opinion. a couple more players on D and where there!
  19. yes a real art gallary over there! can someone pass the cheese and champaine?
  20. YEs !! the only offensive position worth mentioning would be OT. now if a player with alot of talent were available for OT at say round 2 or 3 than maybe you have to pull the trigger and i say this reluctantly but I would understand the reasoning behind this otherwise taking at least 3 D players in the first 4 rounds is vital.
  21. i was thinking the same thing! The giants dont need to score lots of points if the D is dominating. 2 td's and FG should be plenty if the D is a real Giants D. the pressure will be off of Eli. lets hope EA will continue his Defensive path! its the road to a championship.
  22. The safety position seems solid and its backups ! Madison should be good but webster is a question mark just like deloatch is. Peterson may never come back. Jason Bell and RW nothing great but serviceable. Draft a CB -------------------- Arrington may work out fine but if he doesnt then what. Emmons is breaking down like and old car Tobor is still learning the position Blackburn is backup Draft a LB or 2 ----------------------- DT what can i say we have 3 of them one didnt want to get in shape (robbins) One is inconsistant Joesph the other is developing Duckett draft a DT Now as hound did mention OT shouldnt be over looked and thats a valid point but our major weak link is in the D right now. Maybe we can draft lukes replace next year.
  23. For those who were thinking WR or RB or OT in the first three rounds go to the water cooler get a drink and take a deep breath cause it aint happening!! Why? because George Young's spirit is upon us DEFENSE !!!!!!! you wanna win a championship? there's really nothin else to say. But if you'd like to comment be my guest its a free country except if your on giants.com then you must conform to the Nazi's and there ways.
