  1. thanks pizan! At this point its a waiting game. Everyone on this board understands the holes the giants have and If we fill them we should be able to compete pretty well. Alot of people dont have faith in Madison as and upgrade over Will Allen but my opinion was Allen had trouble tracking the flight of the ball when it was thrown to his defending WR. Defending the pass is and art and not to put him down in any way he never made plays on the ball because he just didnt have that special ability turn and play the ball at the right moment. Madison may have lost a step but didnt lose that gift that allen never had.
  2. I guess without a secure DT signing some of us including me questioning what direction the giants are going in to make the Defensive Line improved. Also what FA DT is a quality player at this point. Jackson failed his physical so is it Bruckner? If thats the case the giants DT roster looks like: Bruckner Robins Joseph Duckett Draft Pick For the sake of speculating Is Bruckner better than Clancy? and will a rookie draft pick be better than K. Allen ? If the answer to both questions are yes than we upgraded the interior linemen. If the answer is yes to only one question than have we really improved the interior line? whats your take?
  3. you may be right, but I got a bad feeling about this !!!
  4. With the rights of DT kenderick allen being terminated and with the loss of Clancy it seems the giants have only William Joseph who is still a very inconsistant player along with Fred Robins who was or is in TC's dog house for coming into camp out of shape last year. The only other player worth talking about is Duckett who is a backup and rotational guy. With this info about allen breads all kinds of speculation and questions regarding how do the Giants plan to defend the line of scrimage this coming year. Is this a move due to a FA pick up or will this be and indication that the giants are going to pick a DT in the draft. We all know that usually DT's right out of college cant be a force until 2 to 3 years in the pros. Very strange this news about allen indeed. Any thoughts about this one ?????
  5. i agree !! its time to put together that female solution and lather it up for that nice spring feeling. I dont want a be in a fox hole with this girl/guy !!!
  6. at this point if there are no realistic FA's to go with then the options are slim. We can only hope that robbin comes in camp ready physically to play and that Joseph is more consistant. LOTS of Rotation.
  7. if anything toomer was what held down the fort in the second half of the season. He has a few very good years left. I dont see him as a liability at all.
  8. i agree about OT and Luke. i dont know alot about the talent at DT but from what most of you guys say out there it seems to be very weak pickings at that position which when you consider our 4 DT's in Joseph Robins, Allen and Ducket its a very concerning situation unless they pull someone off the street. I still am trying to figure out what direction the FO is going in and still scratching my head.
  9. i would not be happy with 1 LB a WR and a Rb in the 1st 3 rounds! Absolutely insane!!! try LB LB and DT or LB LB and CB or S then go with a WR or RB in the late rounds. DEFENSE !!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. YEs ! your missing Jakstroud !
  11. My dad was a huge Penn state fan. It was the only college team he would follow. He loved Joey Paterno! He used to call him Uncle Joe! THe Giants in the pros and Penn state were his 2 teams as well as the mets for baseball. why mets? he was a huge brooklyn doger fan and there was no way he was going to the yankees. I was a big yankees fan until the first strike. Now I really dont follow it until the playoffs. Why do you hate Ohio??

  13. really appreciate the post ! Its very difficult for me to watch alot of college ball due to my family life (4 kids, wife and house) . I do of course follow the pros very heavy but I can see why people watch the college game with high interest. Its nice to see young players make it to the NFL and watch them grow. I printed your post so during draft day I can follow along with some of those players and what teams took the players you mentioned. Your excitement about Carpenter comes through. His dad wasnt such a bad player either. thanks again !
  14. i know there should be rules to try to help players and protect them from serious injury but for those that have forgotten its a VIOLENT GAME !! thats why when we see JACKED UP we love the hits !! If the game continues this way I might as well watch Fuckin Tennis!! gezzzz...
  15. I would be very happy to see the Giants go with 2 LB's day one. I really beleive for "need" purposes thats the way to go. As far as the best talent thats a totally different thing. chase black burn also maybe prone to neck injury now. tobor even though he is very athletic has not shown he can cover. Emmons is very suspect with whats left in the tank. 2 LB' s YES!!!
  16. thank you for the Info. good reading
  17. I leave all the college players to you experts. I am hoping the Giants pick the best LB they can with their 1st pick. We really need the type of player that can come in on the first day of camp and make it happen. Were gonna need a little luck as well because with all the speculating that goes with these draft picks there is no guarantee that a rookie can come in and play in the NFL day one. I hope we pick LB and DT CB and S maybe WR LB is the most critical but its time the Giants increase the talent at D. Which LB's would be great additions to the Giants? Name me a few guys to watch for!
  18. you really think that arrington was gonna make that much of a difference for the giants? i just dont see it that way. i agree that peterson's signing set the stage for arrington to be unreasonable about his worth! in the end its all about the money.
  19. I agree about alexander. At the time we signed him we need a veteran that could make a play on the ball.(which he did) His problem of course was he lost a big step (age). I like the situation the giants are in with the secondary. A hard fought camp will be in order and the competition will be fierce. A couple of good LB's in the draft and who knows we may actually have a formidable D. DT still is a concern.
  20. ??? there shouldnt be posts about white football players? Does this offend our Afro-American brothers that there not part of this conversation? racist??
  21. I agree Pete !! this signing is a better risk reward ratio than the arrington situation. I would rather pay brown small money and use his experience for the OLB's we draft than to take arrington for big money and all the assoicated risk that will come with him. THis signing isnt about CHad starting, its a great way to kick start the rookies we sign and move them much faster along. I think its a good thing and I like this signing if it happens. It means the giants would rather mold their rookies then to entertain a possible head case (arrington) great post !
  22. i would have to say a few things that make this work and the giants have been making strides to obtaining them. What is missing is a stingy Defense . One with balance. the giants are moving in that direction ! Another item is leadership Especially on defense we have lacked this quality. As much as Strayhan is a great player he lacked the ability to lead his Defense as a group but as a Solo act he is a great player. THe Giants with the acuisition of Pierce are getting closer and with Sam Adams at CB I think we are one LB away from getting the attitude it takes to play that championship D. We have lacked attitude and the leaders on D for a long time. The Giants have a more disiplined coach and coaching staff and that why the team is improving especially on Special Teams. THe last item that was mentioned is quality backup players because with stronger faster players the rise in injury will not go away so having players that can step in and make plays and still have the team compete is a huge area for getting to deep in the playoffs. If the Giants put together that stingy balanced D and keep putting together more quality backups you dont have to score a tremendous amount of points to win. I see a more competitive NFC East but I see the Giants ready to face the challenge and do what it takes to win. THis is a very good football team in the making. If we get a strong DT to replace clancy and draft 2 excellent LB's the Giants will be a much stronger team than last year. To condense it all: Balance, leadership, Defense , Quality Backups and Attitude
  23. Carbo, you make no sense and your emotional hatred toward Eli is evident. Why dont you come up with a tread called "I hate Eli because I just do"
