The nature of the game is to be attacking ! Hell the 86 bears and buddy ryan took the D to a new level by attacking using 10 players in the box. Christ ! that was attacking but you did need the personel and you have to have the players that can execute. It still comes down to execution it doesnt matter what scheme you dial up. your finally coming around ! YEs there is no need to buy into a FA LB !!! With the talent pool in the draft along with our exsisting LB's we can put togther a very nice LB squad! why break the bank for arrington it makes absolutely no sense.

jonathan vilma stepped right into the jets D and the talent in this years draft is good enough for the Giants to find a kid that has great talent. Some of the guys you mentioned . The giants need to really fill the DT position which is weak right now. Joseph is inconsistant and robins is a guess now with his weight and the other guys are really strong backups. Adams ?? WHo would you like?

as you said there is no reason to panic just because the redskins went on there annual buying spree! The amount of great quality LBs can be picked in the draft but remember the DT position is critical to the defense. I dont care how many sacks OSi and Stray get the pattern with the giants is that the opposing QB knows that the pressure most of the times comes from the outside so the QB's step up and borrow's time. With a strong DT that can colapse the pocket or put pressure up the middle will pay huge dividends for the Defense as a whole especially the secondary! Lets find our DT now!!! i would totally agree with that . its there presentation thats lacking. your right! They alway sound too negative. I for one can be critical yet not negative. the giants are my team and i always give them respect even if i am critical of them!

I appreciate your comments and I also appreciate the non- joseph bashing !! you held your tongue well. I dont beleive in bashing giants player because its management who put them on the team. Its the FO that make mistakes or coaches that have the input that hire the wrong player. I agree 1000% that the most critical area on this Defensive team is DT. I know many of you are solid (giants) football fans. We dont always agree with one another but there is a very basic area of concern for me that the Giants I hope will address. The Defense Line in Football is critical to winning championships and with clancy gone and the fact that we only have $4 mil remaining is a major concern. Many beleive that Joseph can play and play well. Please !! the guy is inconsistant give me that at least !! he is !!! Robins came in last year out of shape and he isnt blow away material either. who know what he comes in at this year? Kenderick Allen and Duckett are great subs but not starters at least not from what i have seen. But they can fill the backup role. So as you know we need a stud DT one who can grab a bunch of sacks up the middle and also colapse the pocket. Getting a player in the draft to fill the role of a stud aint gonna happen as you all say it takes time to develope the DT's SO WHAT NOW !! Our D line right now is great on the ends but mediocre in the middle and unless we sure up the middle with a stud DT the offense's will continue to double team Stray and Osi. Are we talkin super bowl giants here??? If we are then we can not live without a stud DT !!! Its not looking very promising at the moment and dont sell this position short by constantly talking about the secondary. The secondary means nothing if we cant colapse the pocket and put pressure on the QB straight up the middle! WHo is out there that we can sign??? comments!!

We have 2 stud DE's maybe the best in the NFL and we have a mediocre middle D line. With Clancy gone we need a FA stud and a strong pick in the draft. yes we need a LB but not arrington lets find the LB in the draft and buy a Saftey to compliment Wilson. The giants need a DT in the worst way now!

When i created this thread I just wanted to point out that there is a huge difference between and open forum like sportwrath and a tightly controlled forum in giants.com. I for one would rather be apart of sportwrath ! And I know that the creators of this site wanted and open forum not a nazi camp ! Trolls or posters or what ever it can be monitored by yourself. You decide who you want to respond to! To snitch on another poster will eventually turn this site into another giants.com hardly anyone of us wants that. Again, use the ignore feature were applicable and the ignore feature can mean shutting out someone. Most people thrive on trolls anyhow! they secretly enjoy it!

I would just like to say that I had been a a member of the Giants board for over 3 years and with the current rules and regulations there I no longer make my visits. When the Giants board became a zoo with envaded middle school kids and the CE board gone it was quite clear that the board was losing its luster. ALso many posters were being kicked off or punished for there behavior. Some of those posters in my opinion were the ones that i enjoyed. With the addition of this board it has been another breath of fresh air and to be honest the members here are more compelling and educated about football in general. I have noticed and increased surge of negativity toward the Fab 4 and I would like to say that part of the reason that this board is good is opposing opinions. I for one dont want to come to a board where everyone agrees with each other. I get enough of that in the corporate world. THe Fab 4 whether you agree with there opinion or style is a welcome spirit for me. Now I dont always agree on what they say. For instance their belief is Eli Manning is low calibre I disagree I think manning has what it takes yet when it comes to Joesph I do agree that the guy isnt starting material for DT. Sure their animated, colorful and sometimes ugly but go to Giants.com today you will find a boring bunch of ninny's that all have brown stuff on each others nose! I am glad this board has conflict and different oppinion and yes even uglyness makes this a place to be. I hope this board never becomes what giants.com is today. This board has character and I want to thank the people responbsible for making it happen! And remember use your ignore feature where applicable!!!
