I would like to say one thing: All you homers that think our players cant do no wrong its time to take off the rose colored glasses. SHockey and Plax could be helping the team further by being team players. While 99% of the team is in NJ we have these 2 whining morons stepping to the beat of their own drummer. I for one think it sucks considering the pay checks these players receive as well as the bitching on the field with off timing throws by ELi. If they were so bent on getting the timing right with ELi why cant they work out with him in NJ?? I would give my left nut to play in the NFL and get paid millions (like most of us). These 2 players are primidonas that think its above them to come to practice and work with the team on their own DIME!!!! But its ok for the rest of the team to be there? Sam Madison is and 9 year all pro who is there why cant plax and shockey be there? Its all about team and those 2 are showing me that its all about them! :brooding: Yes shockey had good number but its well below his potential same goes for the other guy !!! Team attitude is everything and when your team asks you to participate whether voluntary or not you show the team you care! Tiki Barber will show up why?? Because he cares, he's committed and he is a class act !! Barber is the total package Cant say that about the other 2 miami boyz !!!

the one thing that is dissappointing is 98 % of the team goes to these voluntary work outs but not those 3 (plax shockey and joseph). So 99% of the team will make the effort on their own time to strive for excellence but the other 3 dont feel that way by their actions. slackers !!!!!!

relax !! I agree, if there is and opportunity to pick up a WR we should go for it as long as we stay focused on D. Th 3 WR spot has been a weak link but the team did score a good amount of points last year. LT is also and issue. Hope your having a great day ! GO GIANTS !!!!

absolutely !! 100% agreed ! The other issue is with a great D you dont have to score tons of points !!! We have and offensive line up already that scores the necessary amount of points. The focus must be on Defense. a DT, 2 LB's and another safety or CB. Yes! if a great talent at LT or WR is starring at us in the face fine but not at round 1 or 2 !! Put together a D that can keep people out of the endzone most to of the times and we'll have a winning team provided that Eli continues to improve which there is no reason to think that he wont ! martin

yes the days were the defense played on the offenses side of the ball. DT's colapsing the pocket every play and warrior Lb's roaming the field looking to attack the weak !!! THE Glory Days are behind us. Can we get back the attitude of yesterday???

I will go on record that if the Giants resolve their DT problem through FA and we land a very goog rookie LB the 2006 could be a possible Super Bowl Year. I believe Eli will improve from last year and as long as the Defense improved from the signings this year this team does have the potential to go all the way!!! I like the veteran leadership that has been aquired on D along with with Pierce, Strahan and OSi. The balance is there between young guys and veterans and playmakers. It all hinges on DT and LB position right now. In the weeks ahead can NY upgrade DT and LB? If they can than we will have a team that is balanced on both sides of the ball with depth. 2 more positions will make all the difference!!

i agree with nutty and floyd on this issue ! I for one was not starting trouble or what would be called spaming! I rarely did that on Giants.com all though there were times that pissing people off was comical. I just think that as nutty said we see weakness's that need to be addressed and as hard core giants fans we would like to see results and for some people like to complaining. no problem ! The gossip is that next week we may hear something about the DT signing! hopefully this is true. But if someone doesnt like my thread they should do as I do and not respond. Will this website turn into another Giants.com ??? I hope not because there are very good posters on this board that make it enjoyable. But if it does than oH well !! I will find another board . I am a 40 year giants fan that has watched 550 + giants games and this thread is about lavar arrington and his possibility of becoming a giant ! Right?? SOOOO with that said I cant see spending that type of money like peterson got on HIM!!! ALso i said that that type of money could go else where like fixing a mediocre DT core!! In the context of talking Arrington we are speaking of the GIants Defense and improving upon it !! So what seems to be your problem or challenge with my concern for the DT position! I will go out on a limb and say that if the Giants obtain a very good DT and if Eli keeps improving and if we only sustain minor injuries the team will go deep into the playoffs this year. I believe that the secondary is much improved because of the changes that were made. But remember nothing helps out a secondary more than a very active D line and pass rush or a Qb that is hurried or knocked down !! DT is the key component ! let all pray that ernie can make a deal !!!

yes those experts do have me worried !!! How they offered johnson that is beyond me. If ELi isnt accurate this year it wont matter if we had TO, Marvin Harrison and Randy Moss !!!!!!!! Yet we need johnson????? plax shockey toomer and tiki isnt enough

6 teams going after a 1 DT doesnt give me the warm fuzzies yet! I hope this issue is resolved. I'm sure that all the giant experts are aware of this hole to fill. What happened with Grady ?

the biggest issue in my mind is DT !!! YEs ! It just cant be overstated how important this position is for the Giants. The reason why is very simple. We have possibly the 2 best DE's in the NFL with Stray and OSi but the problem is we dont have 1 high level DT that can command a double team !!! So the opposing offense doubles up on Stray and OSi and leave the middle alone one on one!! They also use TE's and RBs to chip at stray and osi !! IF the Giants were to get in FA a DT that would have to be double teamed from time to time that would cause lots of problems for the opposing QB!! IF you noticed last year the time the QB had to throw was more than it should be because the opposing QB's can step up in the pocket. We need a DT that can colpase the pocket and get that push up the middle so its hard to step up and then we can have our dynamic ends clean up!!! Right now as it stands we have A players on the ends and B to C+ players in the middle. One very high level DT would create havoic !!!! Osi and Stray would be utilized to their full potential but until they address this the D line of scrimage will be inconsistant and with the upgrades in the NFC east there will be a tuff road ahead. Joseph is inconsistant Robbins is a question mark with weight and TC's dog house attitude problem maybe. K. Allen I like but i'm not sure starter material same goes for Duckett. With the loss of Clancy its amazing that the giants would even consider Keshawn Johnson when we need a DT in the worst way!! LB's cannot compensate for a weak D line of scrimage. Forget Arrington !!
