i know there will be some that wont agree but i think the giants should sign ricky proehl . He was a big giants fan growing up and a even in his late career he would be effective. The guy can run routes and is clutch ! carter and taylor have yet to prove that they are consistant or clutch!! I know the guy is old but as a 3rd rec he is just as good with in 20 yds of the field as any 3rd receiver we currently have !!!

i was very cautious about lavar and was hoping the giants wouldnt give up the farm for him and thank god they didnt. A no risk contract ! Props to EA. Couldnt ask for anything better! Now lets hope they take a LB as the 1st pick to really secure the entire LB unit.

About arrington, I think if I am correct the contract is perfomance ladden in nature which is good for both sides and i am happy that the contract is that way. So I like the signing under those circumstances. The other issue I like is that lavar really wants to play for NY and wants to make a statement to the skins that they made a mistake so motivation both financially and in terms of the old team may make this a place he wants to play. I also like the fact that lavar is playing next to his good friend and old teammate A. Pierce. When you add everything up if Lavar can stay healthy it should be a real shot in thearm for LB unit especially if the Gints get a LB in the 1st round. That would add a tremendous lift for the LB squad and upgrade the D. The proof as always will come in sept.

Now that Lavar is etched in stone My choice for a 1st pick interesting enough is still LB. WHy ? Because we have to guard against injury and age. There a lots of injury more than any other time in the NFL and with Emmons getting up there in age and his past injuries to really cement our LB unit we have to pick LB. Short is a very good back up but limited and Tobor is still learning his position. Blackburn is a good back up and developing. 1st pick LB We also need a stud DT either in FA or draft. FA is more a priority to address a current need. We cannot go into the season with Robbins and Joseph as the starters!!!!!!!!! Robbins and a FA starting would be good with joseph and ducket rotating I would love to see for the entire 6 picks 2 LB's 1 DT 1 CB 1 WR 1 OT 4 defensive players and 2 offensive players

I guess if Lavar Signed I would try to go after the Best DT or CB I could come up with. I still would persue a LB and LT or WR would be a strong interest in later rounds. A reality check is in order!! Our remaining DT's are Fred Robbins / William Joseph / Damaine Ducket this group isnt what I call scary!! Now maybe we sign jackson or a FA but even so its a weak group. Sign a DT , LB, CB not neccessarily in that order rounds 1 - 3 and then go after LT WR CB or LB ( 4, 5 and 7) I hope the giants pick out of 6 picks 4 defensive players !

This is how giants fans treat each other with no respect? You always hear what a classy organization and fan base the Giants are and there are some on this board that are absolutely sub-human. Yes Ben is very rare! With the Giants loading up on D and with the same offensive personel we should see a more improved Eli. And if he continues to improve than so will the Giants. Have a nice weekend coming up !

Spotter hope all is well !!! where Jakk been ?? I miss him that little pain in the ass!! Anyway I would like to make a comment about ELi that is not talked about much. And thats the fact that Eli's number of attempted passes is a tremendous number considering it was his 1st full season. My god for any QB at any level the amount of attemps where off the chart. I beleive the coaching staff gave ELi way to much to handel from a mental standpoint and physical one. I think because he was a "Manning" they stretched the boundary but in my opinion way to far. I think if the Giants get back to Defensive football and give Eli a much shorter rope and not ask him to win games but be effective when he does have to air it out we will see a much more controlled QB ala his counter part Big Ben. ELi had to think to much, throw to much and was asked to win alone too much for a QB in his 1st full season and I think along the way his mechanics got thown off. We all know that he can work under pressure and the Giants should now build a better defensive team to take the pressure off this QB and let him manage football games.

There is some risk with arrington . Injury Attitude Price Tag With all the talent in the draft I would not sign him unless the price was right for the giants not LA. If he wants to play for the Giants than he has take our price. The Giants are without question in the drivers seat.

Yes! remember when warran sapp played the giants like and old violin !! what bothers me is this is very similar to what happened with Plax Burress almost identical. The Giants took him off the radar and then second meeting turned into a deal within 48 hrs.
