  1. They have 2 guys with the same name like that, spelling and all? Dolphins cut a ton of people on monday. I know Marty Booker was one.
  2. Yeah I hear ya. I'm more venting on the guy that wrote the article. I know that it is a stretch to include the US population, but it seems that someone who writes an article like that just seems to find these percentages that make the sporting world out to be the kkk. Anyway the only black coach in a semi major program that I can think of is Ty Willingham. I too will go back to being a semi grumpy semi old white guy.
  3. Here is a Link if anyone is interested. It is 1:56 into the video.
  4. With all the bullshit being thrown around about the G-Men cheating, which is completely bogus, I was just wondering if anyone noticed the facemask on Hixon on the opening kickoff. It spun him right around and was never called. I don't remember seeing it durring the game, probably because I was so hyped up, but if you watch the NFL films on NFL.com they even comment on it. I haven't really heard anyone talk about it so I was just wondering.
  5. Per the CIA the United States Population breaks down as 81.7% White, 12.9% Black, 4.2% Asian and a few others. Polpulation Percentages Now, with 6 black coaches in the NFL that makes the percentage of black coaches in the NFL 18.75% which is above the national percentage. OK not good enough. Let's make it an exact ratio of black players to white players. Still not good enough? OK lets just remove all white coaches and players from the league. We good now? Talking percentages in this issue makes no sense. I still can't understand what skin color has to do with coaching qualifications. Why do only head coaches count toward the discussion? I don't know the percentages, but I'm sure there are quite a few black co-ordinators and possition coaches in the league. There will always be a racial divide in this country because of people like O'Connor.
  6. I honestly don't think that the front offices of organizations are sitting around saying "how can we get around this silly Rooney rule and hire as many white guys as possible while keeping the black man down." This article is rediculous. He is bashing what amounts to a company rewarding it's current employees by promoting them to a vacated position, instead of finding an outside guy who fits the acceptable skin color. WTF? Also I am extremely offended by the liberal us of white in this article. I prefer to be called European American. When did "Black" become racist?
  7. If Mitchell's price tag is reasonable, we definately sign him. He switched positions from middle to outside and took some time to adjust to his coverage assignments, but he picked it up later in the year. He is a solid linebacker and a good football player.
  8. Yeah, I noticed that too. I always wore large t-shirts. Now I'm in medium after gaining 15 pounds. Same thing happened in replica jerseys. Large no longer fit me when the new white jerseys came out. I'm 170 and a medium replica jersey fits me now. You will definately need a 48. The authentic jerseys are cut different though. They are skinny and long.
  9. I just watched that play twice on Inside the NFL and that was definately PI. AP was holding both of his arms down and Brady hit the TE in the right shoulder pad.
  10. Maybe it's just me but I think we are pretty solid at linebacker as long as KW is signed (which he deserves to be). KW backed up by Wilkinson (who really showed me something), Pierce backed up by Blackburn (very good on ST) and DeOssie (also very good on SP), Kiwi backed up by Torbor (who definately held his own starting). Safety is a much bigger need. Then depending on Toomer's status possibly WR. Then depth were the best talent is available.
  11. I thought he could have ran forever also, but I saw another angle of it and there is a saftey or LB coming over from the middle who probably would have limited the play to 15 yards. It would have kept that drive going though. Who knows maybe they would have scored or completely ran the clock out on that drive. I think Plax stopped running also. Looked like Plax thought Eli would throw him a bullet, and Eli thought Plax would keep running for an in stride lob. Oh well. I just checked my new hoodie and we still won the game!!
  12. Fuckin da...da da....da da da....da da... Eat a bag a dicks.
  13. We had "The Catch" and we had "The Drive". Now thanks to the New York Football Giants we have "The Play". I hope this name sticks, cuz it easy, to the point and doesn't leave any aspect of it out. It was amazing from the snap to the final tackle.
  14. I saw Jacobs on the front of one float on TV. Osi is in Hawaii already for the Pro Bowl. I read an article that said he called Strahan in the middle of the parade. I can't beleive that Plax wasn't there though.
  15. Thats hilarious. You still have to edit your sig though!
  16. I agree. I watched that play over and over and there is no way that call would ever get overturned. He had both hands solid on that ball after he balanced it on his helmet. Doesn't challenging the 12 men on the field esentially equate to challenging a penalty? I'm surprised you can even challenge that call.

    MVP Award

It could have been a few people. The whole D-Line or Tyree (comin out of nowhere!). But Eli certainly earned that award. And I agree he deserved it more than his brother did last year. That was Rhodes all the way. I guess he will just never get respect from some of the media. Oh well.....he doesn't need it to win!
  18. I would respect the media a lot more if they just reported actual news rather than try to create it. It's sad really. They have been dying for the next Joe Namath for so long that they try to create it, and actually cheapen the whole deal. (This isn't stricly sports media either) I have read at least 4 or 5 articles calling this Plax's guarantee. Huh??? I never heard any guarantee in there. Someone should define prediction vs guarantee for these people.
  19. I was just going along the lines that 31 NFL teams wont lose the Superbowl this year. 30 won't even get the chance. Maybe I missed where they were going with the other post.
  20. I don't usually respond to these threads, but I had to give a bravo to this post.
  21. That's hilarious. I was watchin the game with my buddy and right after that play we started wondering if it would have been smart to hang on to him. I thought he was hurt all year, but he played in like 15 games with 8 starts.
