  1. Reyes had his arm in up to his elbow. That was a horrible call.
  2. Nice. went into work early so I could get home early, watch the game and have a couple beers. LETS GO METS! Start this off right.
  3. I am in the same rut this year. For me it is a superbowl hang over. Sports is the constant pursuit of the ultimate trophy. When that happens (not very often) I tend to be satisfied with all my teams for a while. I'm sure that all of that will change once the season starts. My second reason is that I am just not excited with the team we have going in. I love certain parts of the team, but with all the injury reports and the back end of the rotation, I'm just not that excited. Again that will probably change on Friday.
  4. I also remember a ball bouncing off Shockeys chest in the back of the end zone during that game, which would have made all the difference. What a nightmare. That NFC Championship game is still one of the best Giants games I've seen in my lifetime, with the offensive wupping we put on them and the old Giants D standing on the sideline firing the guys up for a shutout. Priceless. I like the Carr signing. I would definately have confidence in him steppin in to win a few games if Eli ever went down (God forbid).
  5. Meh. I don't think anyone was debating whether he has skills or not. I honestly think that the Mets were just getting rid of his clubhouse personality. He just looks like a malcontent and listening to some of his ex-teammates comments (Wright in paticular) I'm sure he is.
  6. I got the gray one and iI love it. My new favorite hoodie The hood is pretty freakin big.
  7. I don't understand your love affair with Lorenzen. He has never really shown anything in a preseason game other than a very strong inaccurate arm, and that is against 2nd and 3rd teamers. He throws the deep ball 10 to 15 yards over receivers heads. The one time he got a chance to show what he had in a real game, week 2 against Green Bay, he looked confused, had happy feet and did nothing with the offense. Do you really think this guy could pick up the slack if Eli ever went down? I say sign Green. Hopefully he never takes a snap and just acts as a second QB coach. It can't hurt to have someone with more league experience drop some knowledge on Eli. If Eli ever went down, then we have a savy vetran to step in, run the offense and hold the fort down till Eli came back. Sounds like a good move to me.
  8. I think it's hilarious when people call that area "upstate" NY. I live in Orange County and in no way are we upstate NY. My girl went to Cortland and those people only refer to that area as middle NY. It's amazing how city centric NY is.
  9. Is this just carry over from last year or did he do something recently that i missed?
  10. Yeah, I'm not a fan of Wagner either. I've read a bunch of stuff on his bullshit. Callin out Omar in fucking NOVEMBER because he hadn't replace Glavine's 15 wins yet. He is a joke. That said, I can only imagine that Milledge was pulled aside by the veterans multiple times before the locker sign happened. I remember when that happened there were rumors flying around that Cliff Floyd put it up. I think they were all sick of him acting like a premadona in his rookie year. Wagner is a deuche but he usually calls em how he sees em.
  11. Link Sad thing is that he already learned all of his tough lessons and probably doesn't need the tough love anymore. He certainly didn't make life easy on himself showing up late on gamedays as a rookie. Quite the sesative little bitch if you ask me.
  12. Ronnie Lott & John Lynch just to name a couple.
  13. Just heard on ESPN radio that he signed a multi year deal with the Bills.
  14. No prob. I'm still on a G-Men high, so I don't have to start disliking you for another month or so. The huge sig pic isn't helping though.
  15. I don't know if it's been edited, but you might want to read that post again. It says "humbled the Mets in 2007"

    Beltran

I still think Duque should start. Every year there are multiple injuries to a pitching staff so depth in the staff is critical. With Duque starting, we have Pelfrey as a first option backup and Sosa as a second option. Duque will definately be on the DL so it will almost be like the 5th spot will split time throughout the year anyway. Pelfrey gets his time in and Sosa is still there as a safety net. I agree that Sanchez is the key to the bullpen. If he can get back to his '06 stride he will take a lot of pressure off Heilman. I hope Joe Smith can find his April-May self from last year again.

    Beltran

I don't think he said anything wrong either, but I hope he is prepared to back it up by putting the team on his shoulders if at any point they begin to struggle. They can talk all the shit they want as long as they walk the walk on the field. I think that would be a huge mistake. The beauty of having Pelfrey as an able starter working on his secondary pitches in the minors is when Hernandez inevitably goes on the DL 3-5 times this year, Pelfrey steps up and holds down that spot while getting move valuable experience for next year. If we don't have Pelfrey as the fall back guy, what happens? I don't like bringing releivers into the starter spot, simply because they haven't worked up their stamina.

    Beltran

Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on Beltran yappin at the Phillies. I don't have too much of a problem with it, especially if he backs it up with his play. The Phillies are a bunch of punks talking about starting fights because one of our players did the same EXACT thing one of their players did last year. I also like the growing rivalry between the teams because it keeps it interesting. I do wish that the team adopted a little more of the Giants, talk is cheap play the game mantra though. Send your message with your play on the field fellas.

    Vilma

I didn't realize there was a second page to this thread. Great Manhattan minds think alike! I graduated in 2001, and all I know is that I will be sending a monthly payment to the Student Loan Corp. for a few more years.

    Vilma

Vilma is a 4-3 middle linebacker who had trouble adjusting to a 3-4 scheme. Why should we think he would be able to adjust to the outside linebacker position and who would he be an upgrade over? I like Vilma and think he is a good, smart football player, but Pierce is the heart of the D and I don't see Vilma adjusting well to another position.
  21. Don't never say that mws44 never did nuthin for the peoples.
  22. Here Ya Go. TO Crying
  23. Link I would hate to see him in an eagles uni, especially with what else is out there at the safety position.
  24. Nah man. Time would have miraculously sped up as Jesse ran the ball back (right through half time and all), the game would have ended in a tie and the Giants could have won in overtime. I timed it on my kitchen timer and am preparing the power point presentation right now.
