  1. Here is some more math for you. The Giants had 4 home games from November 16th until the season was over. 11-16-08 vs. Baltimore Ravens - the wind is so strong in Giants stadium that the team can't even start Carney due to his weak leg strenght. Tynes goes 1 for 1. 12-7-08 vs. Philadelphia Eagles - 0 for 1. 12-21-08 vs. Carolina Panthers - 2 for 2. 1-11-09 vs. Philadelphia Eagles - 3 for 5. So from the middle of November on, at Giants Stadium Carney kicks for a whopping 5 for 8 or 62.5%. If Reese doesn't resign him - God help us all.
  2. Yeah, since pro bowlers are selected around December 16th and voting begins around the second week of October, I'd say they all had a great year right up until about............the middle of November. Odd how that works out isn't it?
  3. I have no use for Tynes either, but your love of Carney is unwarranted; especially if you watched any games after mid November.
  4. How the hell could Carney possibly get a pass for missing 2 Field Goals in a playoff game? Yet Tynes is the worst kicker ever for missing the same exact amount in sub zero weather, kicking a concrete ball. Blame whoever you like, leaving 6 points on the board in a playoff game is huge.

    Sintim

I think that sentance is worded poorly. I'm pretty sure that they mean that Sintim will be starting out as a SAM LB, not that he has the starting job.

  7. You beat me to it. Throw a fucking strike!! I just can't forgive a losing walk EVER. Throw a 60 mph lolipop down the middle of the plate. That is more respectable than walking in the winning run kenny rogers. Fucker. :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode: :explode:
  8. Here's the thing I can't understand about Omar though - He seemed to find alot of talent through the farm system when he was with the Expos. All of the talent on that club was brought up through their minor league system. They were basicly a minor league team for the rest of MLB. Possibly the young talent he always seemed to find was a product of that fact, but I'm just not sure. I think the ownership must have a final say in every move, because he seemed to be a better GM (finding young talent wise) when he didn't have the cash to spend. I certainly don't think he is doing a horrible job (see Jim Duquet) but not quite what I thought was going to go down after a good first 2 years.
  9. Ha! Good post. Sheds some light on THIS article I read during lunch. Some interesting stuff. I guess he just enjoys goofing off in the dug out every game.
  10. Yeah. Gettin a little worried at this point. It's almost May, time to get it going. He looks like he is slowly going the other way and trying to work out of it, which is good. I can't understand all the strikeouts though. Could end up being a down year for him. Guess we'll find out.
  11. I can understand the desire to replace a one year journeyman with someone brought up through the system, but if Ollie gets it together and Pelf and Maine return to form (they both looked pretty good in their last starts), I think Livan is just what you want in the 5th slot. If he can consistantly throw 5.2 to 6 innings of 3 to 4 run ball with this bullpen not getting worn out by the other starters, this team will be solid. They have to start knocking in base runners sooner or later right?.......................guys......................guys?
  12. Those pictures are pretty weak evidence, if that's what they are being passed off as. They are clearly in a club, and you have to get that close to anyone just to talk to them. Just looks like he is kidding around with a buddy to me. There are probably 50 other pictures of him draped all over the 3 chicks there that never made the internet.
  13. I say NF then keep him on for long / middle relief once Ollie straightens himself outt.
  14. Garcia got released and Nelson F. got signed to AAA with Pena. Linkage
  15. Well.....it sounds like you sort of agree with me here. I never saw him as a #1 receiver because he just doesn't fit the mold. Even when I think back to Toomer being our #1 it surprises me. He certainly doesn't fit that mold either. I definately think #2 is his ceiling, but that isn't a bad thing. He does have some speed and runs great routes which will get him the separation he needs. He also has good hands and I see him having some huge games for the G-men in the future. As far as Fitz and Boldin goes, that is almost a perfect storm, which doesn't happen often and doesn't look like it will stay together either. Most teams don't have a #1, let alone 2 of them. Some teams luck out for a few years (Harrison-Wayne, Bruce-Holt, Johnson-TJ [for a short while]) but that certainly isn't the norm.
  16. Why has this become the popular thing to label Steve Smith as? Why is he only a slot/3rd down man, because that's all he's played so far in his career? I think Smith is going to make a fantastic No. 2 receiver. He was behind Plax and Toomer the past two years, then got thrown into an offense that couldn't adjust it's philosophy once it lost Plax. I just don't get how a receiver gets a label like that 2 years into his career. He runs great routes, has shown good hands and a good work ethic. I guess I don't see the limiting factors others here see.
  17. Wow. Only 6 games in huh. Really? Dude it's freaking baseball. Hitters are cold and hot all year long. He's just starting cold thats all. He'll be fine.
  18. I was listening to it on mlb gameday audio. They couldn't get the WFAN feed working (shocker) so I had to listen to the Reds feed. Those dinks were complaining about how bad Harang was getting squeezed, but at the same time that Santana was extremely wild. That didn't add up to me, but I didn't get to see the replay.
  19. I was thinking the same thing. When Beltran didn't bring Reyes in from third in the first inning, all I could think was "Here we go again, Mr. Clutch" Hopefully they figure out how to relax in those situations.
  20. I totally agree xxi. I was pissed when I heard they were gonna sign him. My buddy said he watched him in right field of Yankee stadium on a 90 degree day deliberately drop a fly ball, then lazily pick it up and lob it in to the cut off guy cuz he didn't want to play in the heat. I hope he doesn't cut into Daniel Murphy's playing time because he is the one guy this year I was very exicted to watch play. I like watching the young guys develop into good ball players.
  21. The title of the thread is "rings you don't see too often" not "rings you never have or never will see".
  22. PS. I may be totally naive but I still haven't given up on Moss either. I think he shows flashes of a good wide receiver and just think he needs some more opportunities. He seemed to run better routes last year, and didn't really do the run backwards 3 yards before turning upfield thing.
  23. I know all of the things that played agaist DHB in college, no QB, run heavy etc. I am only basing my statement on the rundowns I read about him and his highlight videos I watched on you tube. As I watched I just got the feeling more and more that he was an all or nothing guy. I don't really see him making a tough catch in traffic and taking a hit when needed. I was actually surprised to see his size, because he didn't seem to play like a big guy on his highlights. You can definately tell he has a sprinters background.
  24. That pick surprises me. He is an extremely raw player. I think he is one of the biggest project wide receivers that can go in the first round. He is mainly a deep threat with a lot of speed. Kind of like......wait for it............Sinorice Moss was.
