  1. What is this guys deal? Seems kind of lazy to me, which I think would account for some of his non consistency. Link
  2. I was only showing the humor in those two posts. You point out that you don't like Britt because he drops the ball, but you want Edwards who led the league in drops last year. I would also like to see Braylon Edwards on the team and I think first round wide receivers are just about as risky as quarterbacks. Tough to tell how a player will translate to the pros.
  3. Thanks for the cred. I thought about doing a new thread, but just didn't feel like it at that moment.
  4. Didn't know that. But based on this information, now that we have 2 third round picks, giving up the 4th rounder doesn't effect to much. I definately think a 2, 4 and a 5 should land Edwards.
  5. That's exactly what I was thinking. It sounds like we may be getting a pretty high compensatory pick in this draft. Package that with the other two extra picks and that should seal the deal. Based on the trades made for other WR in recent years, I think a 2, 4 and 5 should land Edwards.
  6. The problem with looking at those number is that it is only his second year and he isn't even a starter yet. BE started as the Browns No.1 receiver, which means he should be on the field for most of the offensive plays, and his numbers are only 55 rec. 873 yards and 3 TDs. Those numbers aren't all that impressive either. I know it was a down year for him, but SS hasn't even gotten the chance to start yet and he put up comparable numbers to a guy we are talking about trading him for. Not to mention the 2 picks. Edwards would be a great pickup as long as Smith isn't involved in the deal.
  7. Here is the rumor from the bleacher report.
  8. I honestly think that the people that are annoyed at this thread are not so much having a problem with your posts in the thread, as much as the thread title itself. I still can't figure out, nor have you explained how the teams troubles in the LAST 5 games of last season has anything to do with the amazing superbowl run the team went on the year before. The superbowl team played lights out football in the playoffs, then continued to roll of a fantastic record until the end of the next year, mainly when the 2 new starting defensive ends wore down (which first time starters always do) the defensive tackles got busted up, and the teams big play threat was eliminated from the equation. What does that have to do with the shiny new trophy in the trophy case from the prior season??
  9. All fair points. Maybe they should have given him the rest of the spring for the competition aspect, but they see the guy everyday. If they were sure in their minds that he's done, I don't blame them for not wanting to waste the money for nothing. This comment is a little late as I see you have subdued your fury.
  10. Based on ERA alone he was the 5th best reliever behind Wagner, Shoeneweis, Stokes, Smith and Feliciano in a bull pen that was horrid last year. I liked Goggles too, but he wasn't the same guy and apparently management has seen enough to be confident that he never will be, at least in the immediate future. This is one of those times where you have to put aside a good memory of one season and recoup some money. It's easy to say that it's ONLY 1.5 mil when it's not your money. As far as the Ponzi scheme goes, it seems to me that we signed the best closer on the market. I don't think they were too tight with the wallet.
  11. I only saw the one at bat that he got jammed inside with the bases loaded. He almost muscled it into the out field, but not quite. No one else did anything in that inning either though.
  12. I am surprised at how much drama this USA - Canada game is actually producing. Good game. It's got me in the baseball season mood much more than I was. He finished it off, but after he gave up a run. Tough to be great in March but there was some very real pressure in that 9th.
  13. Of course not. He retired YEARS ago. Don't be rediculous.
  14. I'm pretty sure Gruden is an offenive coach. Sad to see Spags go. Thanks for 2 great years buddy.
  15. Well, I gues it's average. Steve Smith, who I think is going to be a great receiver, only has a 9.9 ypc with 1 td. From what I've seen on the field, the Giants mostly ask Moss to do curls and out routes. I don't think I've ever seen him streak down the field for a deep ball, which I think they should do. But as far as 10.8 ypc goes, thats a first down per catch which is fine in my book.
  16. Tree, how can you be so down on this guy with such a small sample to go on? Last year he got some playing time and looked like a rookie. He ran backwards with the ball losing 1st downs and had some drops. The games I have really seen him in this year he looked pretty good. He had a pretty huge game when he had two touchdowns and doesn't seem to have the dropsies this year. I haven't seen him run backwards yet this year and he has a 10.8 yard per catch avg. The trip you keep talking about last week was on a sloppy field. I think a larger sample is needed before we ride him out of town.

    Plax...

Man, no way am I forgeting 2007. At the begining of this season I wanted nothing more than for Plax to get the contract he deserved, even if he did have 3 years remaining on his original one. That was becuse he deserved the new contract based on what he was doing with the team and on the field. If Plax continued to work, after the new contract, as he did last season, he would have went down as a Giants hero. Instead we got a guy who couldn't show up for work, treatments, had a bad attitude toward his punishments and has now brought other people down with his actions. I hope he turns things around for himself, but I think the Giants organization should feel slightly betrayed by a guy who they tried to do right by. I also remember people saying his 1 game suspension for skipping his monday meetings was his wake up call. Guess not.

    Plax...

Tough call I think. I went back and forth but voted cut or trade. If he had a better attitude and work ethic, I would be more willing to want him to stay. This has been more than one mistake. He worked hard and played his ass off while injured last year. For that the Giants rewarded him with the contract he wanted. Since the game after his contract signing, I have watched him take plays off, miss meetings, miss treatments, have no remorse or recognition of wrongdoing for these things, and now this. He comes off as a bratty little child who was on his best behavior until he got the toy he wanted and went back to what he really is.
  19. Yeah, but the conference wild card tie break is slightly different because they don't look at division records.
  20. It's actually alot more complicated than that: Link
  21. Last year Moss was frustrating to watch because he ran backward after almost every pass he caught. He has corrected that this year and has done nothing but make plays the small amount of time he has actually been on the field. Eli didn't even hesitate to look to him on some big downs on Sunday. I still think the receiving corps is strong. Our starting 3 run crisp routes which I think is the reason Eli looks so in tune with them. They are always where they are supposed to be and never take plays off.
  22. That messed me up when the Giants played the Eagles too. They should make it red or blue.
