  1. i dont know about the 'playoff disappearing acts'. he was great in the superbowl w/ philly and he killed us in the niners playoff game
  2. the tigers will be fine when granderson is healthy--he's the best player on that team
  3. kinda weird that zito has fallen off like he has. his curve still has bite but he can't locate as well as he used to
  4. whether it's true or not, it's really tough to prove defamation--especially if you're as famous as him
  5. i agree, we're pretty awesome. let's face it, we took about 80% of the most knowledgable and/or funny fans from giants.com. it was like a new franchise team starting up and being allowed to take any 10 players they wanted from the '08 giants
  6. wow, all those guys are on the same team?!?!
  7. i have no idea, maybe makemesomefoodho knows
  8. rey ordonez kendry morales isn't too shabby, and yunel escobar is going to be an absolute stud, those are the only three i know of though
  9. giants.com was definitely the most fun message board to troll
  10. plow's story was cool cuz i was one of the heroes who saved the day
  11. which is why they should've invested the money in the offensive line and the receivers. can't really get on them too hard though, they did spend money on jordan and dominick rhoades 2 of the past 3 offseasons and shelled out the dough for jamarcus russell. but making this trade just makes no sense at all. they had the 2nd best pass defense in football in '06 and the 8th best in '07. they gave up the 4th fewest passing TDs last year. IMO if they were going to invest in defense they should've focused on the d-line--particularly the interior now that sapp has retired
  12. the cap has gone up by huge increments the past few years, that's why these contracts are getting so crazy.
  13. he dropped out of the army and was posting for a while undr the currency name. he disappeared a while ago though, i dont even see him on aim anymore
  14. yeah but we had good reason to bitch. we were mad that they took down CE and didn't leave until we were 'forced' to do so
  15. i was at blue sunday's board years ago for a short while but all they did was bitch about how bad giants.com was......then blue sunday became a mod at giants.com
  16. you aren't talking about plow and craig right? i remember they were being really childish and arguing with you, then suddenly in the middle of the argument craig was like "hey, where's your store, i want to buy some clubs"
  17. that gibril wilson would live longer
  18. i dont get it, they have one of the best pass defenses in football and they go and make this kind of investment in hall. mind boggling
  19. i got shitted on when i joined that board too, sure i took it a little personally but i knew i knew my shit so i didn't dwell on it too much. money and i had a million arguments, mostly on aim, but on both boards too and it never occurred to me that he was arguing w/ me out of spite--he simply had a different opinion. i think golfer and money both got bad raps by a lot of people. both, particularly golfer, made it a point to be as matter-of-fact and business-like as possible when they argued w/ people. it got to the poitn where i knew golfer was going out of his way to be as diplomatic as possible while arguing his point. that's not enough for some people though, simply disagreeing with certain people (and i dont mean anyone who's posting in this thread) is enough to set them off and have them take it personally. once in a while money got a little emotional if it went too far--and he rarely provoked the personal element of the argument--but i chalk that up to his age.
  20. me too, i had a lot of fun answering each question w/o saying 'did you know'
  21. it's not a bad strategy, almost every starting pitcher carries a substantial risk, so i dont like to use high round picks on them either unless their names are santana, peavy or bedard
  22. your starting pitching is shaky--i can tell you didn't even pick a starter tillt he 6th or 7th round. liriano and lincecum are risky to have at the top of your rotation (though i'd probably consider cain the ace either way), but if they both work out and street stays healthy you'll be fine, your offense is obviously solid. i dont love your bench on the offensive side, but i can't suggest any good players or sleepers that are probably on yoru waiver wire to you till the sportswrath league has drafted
  23. -he says he hasn't felt this good since 2003 -if this weren't true, then why was he turning down 2 year deals (including one from SD) to sign a 1 year deal with san diego? obviously bc he has enough confidence in his health to have a sick contract year in the best pitching ballpark in the majors. if you aren't healthy and you know you aren't healthy then you take the extra years -why is there nothign else to talk about in SD? they were one win away from their third straight playoff appearance(2 more than the mets during that span), they have the best pitching, from ace to closer, in baseball (again) and adding prior--even if he ends up being 80% of what he used to be--as a fifth starter will make it that much more unfair for the rest of the NL west. You really think Arizona, who had a negative run differential last season, is goign to repeat? Or Colorado--who needed to win 15 of 16 and to win that coin flip to get the play-in game in colorado instead of san diego (where they would've lost) just to make it to the playoffs--will do it again? -they won 89 freaking games, one more than the mets, in a harder division, so i guess by that logic the mets dont have anything to talk about either?
