  1. Seph, I think most of us here VG, Nesta, and myself included are just realistic about Eli. We're not saying he's a superstar. But he's a very good QB. Blaming this loss on him and forgetting Plax's disappearing act, the holding penalty that negated the 83 or 84 yard kick off return, and the holding call that negated the TD.. If you're looking for the silver bullet for why we lost this game, it's that our Pass Defense sucks major balls... and I'll say it till Plax get cut... PLAX SUCKS.
  2. Great point bringing up his performance against Buffalo. But look at his perfomance today, he basically lobbed the ball up in the air on mostly blown coverages. The first TD for example.. OWEN was wide open on 2 TDs. Our O scored 20 points against a very good Dallas D. Why did our D allow over 30 points again? Answer: Our Pass Defense was exposed. Extra Point: Plax sucks.
  3. Good point, Nesta. I'm with you on that as well.
  4. He was bound by contract to the Raiders. The raiders would've taken Plax over the 4th rd pick NE gave up for him.
  5. Yikes, do we have to hurl insults at each other because we disagree and some over-react?
  6. Actually Dallas is a good team. You don't get to 8-1 by being "not that good of a team". We're a good team too.. just not as good.. that's all.
  7. No it is not how it is. There are quite a few people here who now think Eli sucks.. a very small minority are in the "he can do no wrong category". Other posters, myself included, look at the game and how it unfolded.. we looked at the stupid penalties... we looked at how Dallas just played better than us.. that's all. It doesn't mean we suck.. but if you want to put the whole blame one guy... point it at the guy who took the day off... I'll give you a hint.. he wears #17.
  8. Let's not even do that. who would anyone rather have? Phillip Rivers? No one mentioned his name leading up to the draft... Ben.. okay.. but he's not that much better than Eli. Tony Romo isn't really that great.. if my WRs were getting as WIIIIIDE OPEN, I'd be completing every pass too.. shit he was lobbing the ball out there for owens to catch...
  9. I'm with you Nesta. Sure Eli made a few bone-headed mistakes. But truth of the matter is Fucking Romo is barely tossing 20 attempts a game.. and he seems to average what? 50 yards? How about a big wtf to our Pass Defense which is really our weakness.. it was only covered thanks to great pass rush against inferior teams. Hmmm... did Plax play today? How about matching Owens intensity? Fuck how about showing up when the defender is not 5 8"? Yes I was upset my team lost.. yes I had to walk outside because I discovered I didn't have advil in the house... But this loss isn't becuase our team sucks balls; it doesn't. Dallas are a great team and we have to respect them for that. Also, we had bone-headed penalties.. but that happens.. as in.. shit happens.. oh fucking well. BlueInCanada, I know you said he could've thrown the ball away on some of those sacks... but how about our WRs getting open? Plax ALWAYS disappears in big games. I was ridiculed when I said I didn't mind Owens playing for us after his debacle in Philly.. I was riduclued when I said we should trade Plax for Moss... Randy that is... I was told Dante Stallworth drops the ball frequently when I suggested we needed a 3rd WR... I said it before and I will say it again, PLAX SUCKS BALLS.
  10. There is a lot of traffic here, brother. You probably caught most of us when the game is at 4. I personally had to drive around looking for pick up football games.. sitting at home waiting for the game is atrocious. Besides, we do have the GD and the all famous Politics and Religion section. I gave up on the Giants board way back. We have the core participants here.. the sane ones... You won't find any "Trade Eli" threads here.
  11. You need to be here anyway. This is the place to be even if Nem acts up sometimes jk Nem
  12. Superstition? No I don't believe in that. I can tell you from experience that if I'm playing and concentrate on the game and the game only.. that means no trash talking, no paying attention to the girls on the stands, no celebrating a tackle or a TD, I play great. But as a fan watching from home.. no nothing i can do. Maybe the fans at the stadium can help by being loud.. but that's it.
  13. Well, I'm very anxious. God if the Giants don't win, my phone won't stop ringing... especially from my best friend who's a Dallas fan. And the way I see it, I want us to beat a good team. I want us to rise and prove that we belong. Dallas being 7-1 is no fluke. I happened to believe we are better than Dallas and I want to be proven right.
  14. Buck gazes at Aikman's eyes
  15. Not even close, Seph. A year ago we lost to Chicago. A game we were in till a few coaching mishabs... like kicking a long field goal in the Meadowlands with a wet ball.. The year before that we lost @ Seattle. A game we were in all the way to 3 missed FGs by Feely... Who's to say this isn't our year now? Who is to say we won't beat the cowboys and go on to beat the Lions in their den? The only thing that ticked me off about our offseason moves.. or probably the most is the ones we let get away.. both are now catching for Tom Brady. I lobbied for Moss to be traded for Plaxico Burns.. yes Palxico "Burns" according to my 8 year old nephew... And I lobbied to get Stallworth.... Instead they're both in NE and that 9-0 record could've belonged to us. 8-8? No sir... not this year.. not with this team.. I'm no fan who looks ahead.. way ahead.. but when NE game comes around.. and IF they're 15-0, we might just have a little talk. For now, I'm not thinking NE and I'm not thinking Lions... let's worry about tomorrow.. and should we win, I will ask you kindly to revise that 8 and 8.
  16. I think Aikman gives a pretty good analysis. And I take FOX over CBS any day.
  17. No. Maybe I play injured and I have no problem with it. Maybe I have high pain tolerance... or when it comes to football, I don't care. I have been tackled from behind on a muddy field during one of our pick up games.. incidently his knee landed on my ankle and he and I heard a thud. I was in pain but didn't think much of it. I hobbled to my car, grabbed some tape from the trunk and taped my ankle .. I used a lot of tape it looked like I was dragging weights with my leg... and went back to play. And after the game I went to the ER. I don't recall what the exact diagnosis was.. hairline fracture.. ligament damage.. whatever.. but the doctor was shocked to hear that I continued playing after the injury and that I was only brought to the ER after the game. I don't know man.. I just think sometimes those injuries in the NFL are exaggerated.
  18. I've been injured before... As a matter of fact my jelly-like ankles are the most that got hurt. Just because there's a little bit of stiffness left it doesn't mean you're injured. Ijust don't buy the hype that much.. I say if you're able to run then you're not injured.
  19. It was a good game indeed. but if the Giants are playing, I ain't switching channels.
  20. It's even more atrocious when the only game on TV is the Jets... :brooding:
  21. It's no rocket science really... It's amazing what rest can do for an athlete. I don't know if they practice on Fridays.. but I sure hope they don't or it's a walk thru. Besides, when you're 6 5", it's hard not to catch jump balls over 5 9" CBs.
  22. Who is he bullshitting? How can your ankle not get better for weeks now? Shit there is a certain level of pain tolerance every person has.. I just think he likes it when people say he's playing injured. It's a fucking ankle injury... usually 3 days and you're good to go...
