  1. While I think you're right on... asl always, I feel Shockey has the potential to be a top TE if not the best TE in the league. For some reason he doesn't look focused out there.. as evident by the passes he drop. I don't think we overrate Shockey... he was picked in the first round no? The key is to get him going early... something we don't seem to focus on.. but again, some say we need to get Jocobs going early... what gives?
  2. This is exactly true. I don't understand those dropped passes.. constantly.. It's about momentum and if Shockey wants the ball, then he better not drop passes.
  3. Good. I like 1 PM games better than having to wait till 4 PM.
  4. The QB position is the least of my worries. We have a solid QB who is about team first not stats. Everyone knows that QBs manage the game and Eli does a very good job doing so. My biggest worries are our kicking and our CBs... they're still vulnerable to the deep pass... if it isn't for great pass rush they'd be exposed... I'm not sold on Madison suddenly being good again...
  5. Remember how John Fox used to devise his defensive scheme to contain McNabb? Same goes here. Our defense should shut out Witten and Keep Romo in the pocket. Barber isn't much of a threat... I don't think.
  6. The key to victory is to score more points than the cowboys.
  7. Well that's what we need to find out. If they can't beat the Lions, then they should go hide under a rock and call it a season. I don't want to have a good season without beating good teams. So far we beat the Skins, Eagles, Jets, 9ers, Falcons, and Miami... not exactly cream of the crop... and those Eagles proved they're over the hill last night... and the skins barely beat the Jets... it's no wonder they flopped against NE.. .they suck.
  8. Well said. That was a great play and it's one of a few that a fan never forgets.
  9. You know at least the boys lost with some dignity. The complete flop the skins did was atrocious.
  10. And I'm sure we'll be keeping an eye on that Eagles-Boys game. And yes bye weeks suck ass...
  11. Denver.. 13-0 playing at NY. As time was winding down.. Kent Graham throws a bomb which Toomer caught in the end zone as his body lands out of bounds... the referee rules him out of bounds.. a second later a referee from the other side runs towards Toomer signaling it was a catch.
  12. Stallworth. Toomer is a Giant thru and thru and should be ahead.
  13. I don't think a lot of us look at the game that way. It's a typical NFC East showdown where first and 2nd place will be facing off. Regardless of the outcome of the Boys-Eagles game, the boys Giants game is not a must win for either team. Of course it would. The Giants will be in first place in the NFC East.. tied with Dallas. I haven't seen anyone here disregard the 2nd half. I think we all know it will be much tougher than the first half and no game should be taken for granted. I don't think the boys have played anyone besides the Pats either. How do you know all that stuff? Do we need to play the games then? If we take care of our business like we've been in the past 6 weeks, we won't need to worry about tie breakers.
  14. I don't think we could afford both. I actually wanted Stallworth and Moss. Get rid of Plax of course. We woudl've had Moss, Toomer, and Stallworth.. now that's sick.
  15. I proposed a trade with Oakland. Oakland needed to get rid of Moss.. they unloaded him for what.. a 4th round pick? They would've taken Plax over that pick.
  16. See Echo, I think he would've done just fine. Him and Eli feeding off each other. Oakland was atrocious. Looking at the stats, he would've had the same stats had he been with the Giants... he wouldn't have dropped that pass in the end zone like Plax did.
  17. In the Green Bay game we had the same problem we had against Dallas. Our D, especially our LBers were lost... Everytime Romo threw a pass, Jason Witton was WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field. It wasn't that Mr Romo is this great QB, he isn't.. it was that Jason Witten is this unstoppable TE.. he isn't. Our D was lost. Have we improved since those 2 games? You bet. Is it any wonder why ESPN is suddenly singing our praises when they wrote us out in the pre-season? Our D is the talk of the nation.. hands down. Sure I'm still not comfrotable with our defensive backfield but they are far better than they were the first 2 weeks of the season. Again, I'm not saying the boys are terrible. All I'm saying is our Giants are better.. that's all.
  18. I'm not sure who said Dallas is a bad team.. or who's blaming you for saying they're good. I think we all agree they are. I happened to beleive they are the 2nd best team in the NFC behind the Giants. I understand they beat us but we know the circumstances then.. it was a shoot out and their "D" couldn't stop us either. In essence we've improved a great deal since that game and they've remained the same.
  19. VG, don't look at the margin of winning. Given the field condition and the rain, it slowed down the game a great deal. We were playing not to lose... Remember we came out in the 2nd half hoping to "pick it up".. 3 passes went incompelete.. 3 and out... So we went back to pounding the ball and we won.
  20. I think it would work great. All that QB is doing is toss up jump balls. It's Moss who makes him shine not the other way around. Trust Moss needed out of the shithole in LA and NY would've been a perfect fit from the start.
  21. No. If you remember I was very upset with Plax' behavior on the field and the way you handled the ball. I cringed everytime he had it in the open. I know a lot of people sing his praises but he hasn't done what any other reciever with his hieght can't do. Moss has great hands. The guy hardly if ever drops passes. And the irony is that I thought Stallworth would look great in Giants uniform... talk about a great 3rd receiver..
