  1. yeah, but RGIII is playing in a remedial offense... when he gets a pass off, his numbers should look real good on a per play basis. I'm a big numbers guy, but the more I've come to understand the game of football, the more I've come to disregard most statistics. Especially QB stats.
  2. I think it is more about him curling into a fetal position immediately after he releases the ball.
  3. Yeah, I'm probably in the minority on that one. But I still don't see the Giants dropping Eli anytime soon. Which means that if this is an either/or proposition, I keep Eli, dump Gilbride.
  4. I think when we evaluate Eli, we should remember how much its worth have a QB who can take a hit and will be there every snap of every game. What would you prefer, 12 games of Aaron Rodgers, or 16 games of Eli? I think I'd take Eli.
  5. LOL, did you watch Houston '93? I understand where Buddy was coming from. But I thought it was great that Ryan crapped all over Gilbride ('he'll be selling insurance in a year'), but then Kevin Gilbride has since then had twice as much success in the NFL as Buddy ever did.
  6. yeah, a lot of it has to do with injuries, but there's no reason for that team to be contending for the division. The Giants gave them two gift wrapped wins. Those games could so easily have been flipped, and the Giants would be the 7-6 team with no right to be contending for a division.
  7. I agree, but unfortunately he's the Chargers offensive coordinator already.
  8. technically, the Iggs had nothing to do with it... it was the 49ers/Cardinals that sealed it. Loved watching the Eagles game yesterday. up until the Giants shat the bed it was a great day of football.
  9. Why not? They fired Hufnagle, Coughlin stayed. They fired Tim Lewis, Coughlin stayed. They fired Bill Sheridan, Coughlin stayed. There is organizational precedent.
  10. Bring in somebody. Gilbride gets a bad rap, he's a hell of a coordinator, but his offense has gone stale. This is not a knock on Gilbride, its just time for this team to move on. It desperately needs an infusion of new ideas.
  11. Indeed. ("Betty", LOL) On AFC Playbook this week, they had a whole segment with Shaun O'Hara on how terrible Beatty has been this season.
  12. well, at least we can't complain about his confidence.
  13. eh, I couldn't care less about pro bowls. I know what I see, the man can play. He may not be one of the best 5 or 6 safeties in the league, but he's in that next set of guys, plus he can cover better than most other safeties too. I would not complain a bit if his cap hit was more in that $4 million area. $9 million is just ridiculous though.
  14. I'd say he's a BMW getting paid for Porsche performance.
  15. man Nas, you have high expectations. As a cover corner, he's approaching average... which for a good safety, is pretty damn good. There are only a handful of players in the league as versatile as Rolle. Although I do agree that Rolle probably isn't quite worth his cap number. But he's worth a lot.
  16. at the right price, I'd love to have him back.
  17. well, there was a point that I may have pulled up a few games on the DVR and reviewed Beatty in detail, but those days are long gone. I can just give you my impressions, which are admittedly imperfect at best, especially for a position that generally doesn't stand out unless he does something wrong (although I do try to focus on line play so my impression is probably worth more than most other casual fans). But I think the issue most of us take is that the guy got his contract and now - not before the the contract, but after - he's been prone to game altering lapses in concentration and effort. I thought Beatty had the position locked down, but his performance this season has been sobering.
  18. Beatty played like a watery shit in two games this season. He merely played like crap in a couple others. Otherwise he's hovered around average. Had a couple good outings too. If I recall, he did well enough against Ware in week 1. Its his consistency, or the lack thereof, that I don't understand.
  19. Earlier this season I was crapping all over the guy, then he turned it around and I tempered my criticism. Then last night Orakpo took him to school. Beatty is just too inconsistent to be trusted on the blind side.
  20. And he comes with a senior citizen discount.
  21. I saw enough yesterday to conclude the Giants were not going to win anything this season regardless. They have systemic issues at too many positions, including the OC. The book is fucking out on this offense. I'm pretty sure you can download their playbook to your kindle for free, its public domain shit at this point. Omaha, Set a dick in your mouth Gilbride, you fucking suck! Dominating up front against an ill-manned Cowboys LB corp, and our guys are getting cute, trying to force a passing game into the wind. Pathetic.
  22. Yeah, Diehl is one of my favorite Giants, but his time has come and gone. And Cordle has actually made me appreciate David Baas. I feel like I should back off my criticism of Beatty a bit, even though he did get the Winston Justice treatment against Carolina. But he's been better since then... not good, but better.
