  1. man, Dhani Jones had like a ten year career... I'd be shocked if Paysinger comes anywhere close to that.
  2. I didn't see that. I saw poor play calling compounded by a loser mentality. Look at Jacksonville's play choice on offense from the first half the second half - first half, they took what was given and sustained drives. Second half they were pressing for chunk plays. They played like they couldn't believe they had a lead. It was one of the worst efforts I've ever seen. They may be very good in this respect, but I am not buying that the Eagles conditioning methodology is that far ahead of the rest of the NFL. oooh, biometrics, so innovative!... but biometrics is so fucking old, I learned about it in a couple sports video games in the early '90s. Chip Kelly sure didn't invent it, there's no way that other teams aren't already doing something similar. In the NFL, a team with superior conditioning may be able to swing a game in their favor later in the fourth quarter... but not during halftime when everyone is resting. There just isn't that much difference from the best team to the worst. And now that I've crapped on the Jaguars, its a safe bet they'll get their shit together in time to play the Giants. Damn it.
  3. Its a very, very weak 3-0. The Indianapolis game was a gift from the refs, and the way the Eagles were playing in week 1 against Jacksonville, I think ANY other team beats them going away. But I have to admit, I gain respect for Chip Kelly every time I watch them play. I thought his was a gimmick offense, and I was so wrong about that.
  4. Just based on the eyeball test, I think Nicks is playing well. Indianapolis has a couple other good receivers too though.
  5. oh wow, thats not how I see Amukamara at all. Seems to me he's a very good in run support for a cornerback.
  6. Hard for me to call that "better"... the Eagles got a gift, they would have lost but for poor officiating. Rather see the officials screw up the game evenly for both teams.
  7. See you in two weeks... .500, here we come!
  8. Yeah, I'm not giving up on him yet. He's done too many great things in mediocre situations... if the pass protection can just be average, I think we'll see him play the way we expect. I'm more concerned that they're asking a guy who is special on the intermediate to deep throws to play a long hand off game; the touch on the short throws is the one area that he's never been good at.
  9. lol, nice oh look, finally a reason for optimism.
  10. I'm coming around to this point of view.
  11. ... That is a depressingly good point.
  12. He's been hard to watch for a couple seasons, but 2011 wasn't that long ago.
  13. I still don't really understand why Cruz was the guy, not Nicks. But after that, I saw things happen that I hadn't seen from a Giants receiver since the days of Plaxico Burress. I didn't understand it and couldn't explain it because it was Nicks' contract season, but his suddenness of movement clearly wasn't there like it was previously... and Nicks was one of my favorite Giants ever too. I was a fan, I wanted him around, so I do not think my eyes were deceiving me. But Defiler made a good point... maybe there was some bitterness there, between Cruz's contract and the way Nicks' health had been treated like it was disposable. I don't know, at this point I just wish him the best.
  14. That is a really good point. He was dogging it (or was more nicked up than I thought), but this at least gives a reasonable explanation why he was taking it easy and protecting himself out there. Can't say I blame him either.
  15. can't argue with that analysis....
  16. The Lions could be beastly this season, so, there is that. Its not like the Giants just had their heads handed to them by the Jaguars for a half.
  17. I feel bad for her... she got her ass beat down, and now she doesn't even have her meal ticket anymore.
  18. I was about to post a thread to the same effect, fishgut. Well said. I haven't forgotten how bad the D looked in those first couple games in 2007. The first couple games of the regular season, if you've got a new system coming in, those may as well be looked at as pre-season games. Its not reassuring that Detroit also has a new offensive system, and they didn't seem to have any communication issues....
  19. The entire offense, aside from Jennings who just had nothing to work with, was awful. Randle sucked hard, he doesn't even look like a pro. Saw Jernigan get alligator arms a couple times. First one was real bad; Gruden said Eli missed, but he didn't, I rewatched and the throw was good enough, Jernigan was just channeling his inner vagina. Cruz was meh... Donnell may be a player though. Other than the communication miscue, he looked pretty decent out there.
  20. on a few occasions I saw a pulling offensive lineman miss the Lions player and block another Giants offensive lineman. It was like an episode of the Three Stooges out there. I saw a some reason for hope elsewhere... (the D looks like it might be okay as long as they don't have to cover Calvin Johnson).. but the offensive line was so bad, even worse than I expected.
  21. I predict David Wilson will lead the league in yards from scrimmage.
  22. A defensive tackle named Hamilton, good move.
  23. Indeed. I thought they would be good every season from 2008-2012. But in 2007 I had them as a bottom feeder.
  24. Golic had them at 4-12 this morning. I don't know, but I just have a real hard time believing that Coughlin can't coax them to around .500.
