  1. Yeah when he finally got back to practicing a couple weeks before the start of the season, I guess he took a pretty nasty shot to the hamstring during a play. I'll try to find the article I read about it.
  2. A certain weight falls onto the rest of the team as well. Peyton Manning can make any WR/TE and offense look like it's something special but take a look at the SB last year. The Seahawks exploited the weak Oline by bringing the house at Peyton on every play. It's the same thing the Patriots did back with he played for the Colts. I think Eli is in a similar situation now.
  3. Coughlin has never been a media whore like some coaches who go on about how they are going to whip the team into shape. We don't know what Coughlin is like behind the scenes, at meetings and talking with players. It's why I find it comical that people read into what he says to the media.
  4. Yeah but he didnt have a good year after being rushed back from injuries and surgery. I mean in one game he has more receptions, TDs and yards then any of our WRs, I guess having a QB who throws to you and an OC who understands you don't make someone coming back from a major foot injury run go routes every fucking play. I said it when we paid Cruz, we gave the money to the wrong WR and now a we have a slot WR who's more interested in selling his clothing line then trying to prove he's worth something like Nicks. As you can tell I'm still pretty fucking pissed we got rid of one of the most talented WRs the Giants have had.
  5. That's one thing I didnt understand as the game went on, the offense started to click after putting up 14 points then all of a sudden Eli is waving his arms around and trying to make shadow puppets on the field. If this is a new offensive scheme and everyone is still learning it, why let Eli (designed or not) be able to change the play so drastically that players have no idea if it's even a run or pass, like when Eli rolled out and the WRs went up field blocking expecting a run.
  6. Yeah I'm with Pdoub on this, if there was no video then nothing would of happened from the NFL or the Ravens. Let's not think the Giants are some untouchable team, I'm willing to bet there's current players on the team with bad issues that havent been made public yet. It's a publicity move in the end, if Rice was still the back he was four years ago the Ravens would be talking about how "He's going through community out reach programs to become a better man" It's a joke.
  7. The only way I want the Giant's to draft a QB is if he's like Luck, Ryan or like Eli, Big Ben and Rivers were in '04. I want every single expert saying that he's NFL ready, none of this "he might become a franchise player" like RGtheThird, or all the teams replacing their "franchise QB" now, Jax, Titans, Tampa, Raiders, etc. All those teams took QBs who were "potential franchise QBs" If there's none of those in the draft I don't care if the Giants have to bust out for 10 years, I'd wait for the next Luck.
  8. Well same thing during the Colts year and their, "Suck for Luck" campaign.
  9. Well this Mariota is gonna be a bust, it's confirmed. People on the Dallas Cowboys forum are saying they should tank the season to get him.
  10. I have no idea what youre talking about.
  11. Another prediction. Cowboys trade for what's his face from Cleveland.
  12. A lot of good games so far. Entertaining anyways, and the refs wernt a problem. Lets hope that continues with the Giants game.
  13. Washingtons Oline looks worse than ours. Which is pretty sad,
  14. Oh and Foles is looking like shit against Jax. So there's that.
  15. I see nothing wrong with it, i think just make calls like pass interference reviewable, any time it's called it goes up to a booth where a couple guys make a judgement call on it. Holds, fumbles, offside and everything else are pretty clear to see. At the same time I've never had a problem with the officiating, never has bothered me in any way, even when it goes against the Gints.
  16. And I agree the offense did seem lost and confused with Eli and the starting Oline, maybe like you said they are just trying to get the basics down, or not show the whole playbook. I just feel some people have Coughlin pegged as a tyrant coach who runs his team with an iron first when all he has done since being here has adapted and changed his coaching style and has even "evolved" into what some think are the new type of player coaches that are winning today. Although he does still seem like a hard ass.
  17. So like I said Coughlin lets McAdoo do his thing, without any "interrupting", unless he really starts fucking up and needs help.
  18. So is that the coaches problem then? or Eli's? And yeah Coughlin oversees the team, but if people honestly think he's telling Fewell or Macadoo (or even Gilly) how to run their scheme, then I doubt they have ever paid attention to Coughlins coaching style. He's never been a coach to make a coordinator run something a certain way, or even take control of calling plays, unlike coaches like Belichick or McCarthy. He helps them I imagine with all the years of experience he has in the NFL and I imagine tries to relay what he sees with them, although it never seemed to work with Gilly.
  19. Mac is calling the plays and it's his time ever doing it. But yeah Coughlin is sitting over his coordinators shoulder telling him he wants the offense to look like a pee wee team. I thought people has a problem with Coughlin never telling Gilly to change up his style of playcalling and now all of a sudden he's got his hand up Macadoo's ass
  20. I really don't understand how people say Beckham is in Coughlins doghouse. He hasnt even been able to practice to get into any sort of trouble, I'm sure Coughlin and the front office feel the same way about him. Also do people honestly think that Coughlin is somehow stopping Macadoo's offense? Are people that stupid to think that Coughlin is somehow sitting at his desk telling Mac that it's his team and it's run his way? The same guy who did a 180 during the 2007 season is now somehow a tyrant over the coordinators?
  21. Eli finishes with a high completion percentage, low number of INTs but also a low number of TDs. I think Eli has an "Alex Smith" type of season, MacAttack gives Eli a lot of check down options prompting Eli to have a high completion percentage by years end. However since the defense allows Eli to just throw safe checkdown passes, and with the O-line not being able to give Eli the time he needs to push the ball downfield, he also finishes with a low number of TD passes. I can see something like a 60% completion rate, 17 TDs and 5 INTs. Williams becomes the "starting back" by years end Jennings shows he has speed and quickness but also can't pick up the tough yards, Coughlin and Co are impressed by Williams being a work horse type of back who will just run forward for 4+ yards. Williams is eventually put into the game for the bulk of the carries and Jennings is used as a third down chance of pace back. OBJ doesnt play till week 6 or 7, but when he touches the field his presence is felt OBJ with his lingering hammy issues and the fact he hasnt had any practice time to learn the playbook, doesnt get any real starting experience till week 6 of the season. When he does get on the field he soon makes an immediate impact in either the return game or passing game. Finishes with a TD in every game when he finally gets on the field. JPP plays lights out then signs a contract with the Cardinals for 95 million dollars JPP returns to his 2011 form and puts up a 14+ sack season and is considered for comeback player/defensive MVP. However since it's his contract year he follows the money to some team willing to pay him 10+ million a season, since he "likdededed da money" Extremely bold tasting spicy nacho prediction: Eli or Coughlin are gone next season. With the owners breathing down JRs neck to rebuild this team into something competative, after another dismal sub par season barely reaching the .500 mark, JR either "retires" Coughlin, or trades Eli to the Rams for a couple picks.
  22. But it was his second season that he had his best year, heck even in 2012 he had an alright year. And I dont see how you can say his back inst fucked when you know he had to get surgery done to it. I will agree though, JPP really needs to step up this season for the Giant's to have any chance at winning.
  23. Yeah I think the article is just trying to point out that Jerry is playing a level above the other lineman around him. I said Jerry would be starting on the Oline before the season starts and he'll get his chance.
  24. Yeah but they also said Walton was one of the worst centers in the league and he's probably the best player on the O-line right now.
  25. You know I'm always pretty positive about the Giants heck I'm not one of these fans that after missing the playoffs the last couple years that they go off the fucking deep end and act like the Giants haven't won anything. I know this is a new era of football and SB champs are going to be few and fair between in repeat success, I think we are going to see the last of it when the Pats eventually move on from the Tom/Bill era. However with that said, I think this season is a complete collapse. I think it takes most of the season for The MacAttack and Eli to get on the same page and by that time we are already out of playoff contention. I feel like the defense improves however the lack of depth at LB rather thin DT core comes back to bite us in the ass with injuries. I don't see the Giant's making 8-8, I think it will be more like 5-11 maybe 7-9 at best. I said this a few years back on the forums that after the SB win in 2011, that nearing the end of the Eli and Coughlin era that there was a good possibility the team was going to flame out and have to push the reset button earlier then the front office wants. Now I thought it was going to be more due to the fact that the team was going to get pillaged in free agency, but little did I know a lot of young and core pieces of the team were going to have an early end to their careers. But who knows, this team always surprises me at the end of the day, for all we know we could be watching one of the best offensive performances by this team in it's history but for me I think it will be one of the worst. I'll still stay positive every week, cheer on the Giants, and believe the team can go 16-0 but until it happens I still think that this season much like the last two are going to end early.
