HA, I loved hearing that during the game, at the end of the day it's just a game.
Back when I played college ball, I would tear some grass out the turf the throw it on the lineman's helmet before the snap, if I could just get them for one play trying to over commit just to try to block me out of a play I knew I won because they would leave a lane wide open.
Who'd a thought an OC would stick to a game plan and not change it despite it not working.
Maybe it wasnt just Gilly.
This is starting to shake my knowledge of the NFL.
Because at the end of the day 3/4's of the players would be working jobs at McDonalds or homeless with the level of education they have received riding on just playing football since highschool. Not to mention I read an article that a lot of pressure was coming from the players who would end up bankrupt/homeless because they would rather own a diamond studded wrist watch, four houses, and three cars than save a paycheck from time to time.
If the owners didn't have the NFL they would still be multi-millionaires, just slightly less.
Lawrence Taylor, Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, Micheal Strahan, Tom Brady, Brandon Jacobs, Steve Smith Sr (fuck he's having a great year in Baltimore, and the list can go on and on with trash talkers, who have won the big game or had a good/great career.
Atleast it was an early-ish season injury (guess the only positive you can say about it)
He'll have this season and all off season to rest and rehab plus he's still young. He's already went under the knife from what I understand and if he rehabs right there's no reason he cant return to decent form.
He might not be an 1 or 2 WR after it, but I would imagine he could still be an effective slot.
Although the article I read basically said he'll never be the same player, but you never know.
It's weird that PFF doesnt factor missed games/non starts into player grades.
And he was ranked the worst center in football during his starting years in 2010, 2011
Like I said, goes to show the PFF grades don't tell the whole story.
I'm not worried so much about the ran as the pass.
The Giant's are bottom five in the league when it comes to defending the pass.
DRC and Mooky do their job, but we cant cover the slot, TE or RBs.
I think the base case scenario is the Giants split Dallas and the Eagles this year.
I can see the Giant's beating the Eagles but for some reason I cant see them beating the Cowboys, their running game is going off and Romo seems to have been pulling games out of his ass this year.
Or he might know how to coach his team, shocker I know, but maybe just maybe, he knows when a rookie should be playing.
Although I doubt this is the case.
If I recall correctly we had more yards rushing then passing that game.
The defense couldn't stop the Eagles offense at all and Eli couldn't complete a pass to save his life.
The only thing Gilly did right that game was call rushing plays.
Obviously you are just some Gilbride fanboy who wouldnt say a single bad thing about him and thinks he's the best OC to coach the game.
It can't be any sort of rational opinion of the man, it's obvious you just love him.
Dude.
Instead of getting shot while on a team, these kids can look forward to being shot before they even have their name called.

At the same time, if RG The Third walked in and won every single game and took them to a SB, then it would of been the best trade ever made.
However, this is reality. I don't think the 'Skins expected him to be as injured as he has been, it's just turned out to be a bad situation all around for them.
Teams will bank anything on a franchise player, heck Ditka traded away an entire draft plus more just to get a RB, oddly enough it was to the Redskins and even with all those picks they remained irrelevant.
