Bigblue25
I am wondering if things turn out different draft wise and Darnold is our QB. Part of them passing on the QB was being content with Webb or the new coaching staff wanting to see what they have
JayD
I wouldnt throw Web to the dogs just yet. Lets see how the rest of pre season goes. I understand the concern though.
Sephiroth
If Darnold ends up as a franchise QB, regardless of how Saquon does we're going to be kicking ourselves for a long assed time.

Better yet, If Giants don't make the playoffs this year- which looks probable -they made the wrong choice.
K3VIN
Webb is trash. Jitters in the pocket. Looks to mechanical
Herc
High 1st round qbs have less than 50% success rate. Combine that with the benefits of team building around a successful late round draft pick with a low salary and I was happy to not take the gamble

Darnold was doomed the minute the Jets drafted him. Three years tops.

I guess 100% if we arent counting the pick we forfeited for Dave Brown lol. All the more reason to trust their judgment this year!
Nas
You can argue for anything really. Anyone here was upset over the Barkley pick? Whether Sam Darnold pans out or not is irrelevant.

The idea behind Barkley is @winnow. If they dont, its a fail and they shouldve got a QB. I thought thats obvious
boohyah
I think the jets have their qb for the next 10 years at least. Kid looks solid and it looks like he might be in line for starting

I thought thats obvious I thought the idea behind Barkley was that when the next franchise QB gets drafted in the next couple of years he doesn't have to pass the ball 50+ times a game. And to win now.

Herc
If they loved any of the remaining qbs I think they wouldve drafted them. Nobody prefers Adrian Peterson over Tom Brady. If Im running a team and Im not in love with a qb then theres absolutely no way Im gambling with the second pick. I dont think Eli and his one year left on the contract deterred them from taking a qb they loved

I thought thats obvious I didn't see it as a win now move as much I saw a win now and win later... The FO looked and saw Eli and Webb at QB. They must've concluded Webb has as good a chance as any of the rookie QBs. the point is I don't recall anyone being upset when we picked Barkley. I don't think the team has confirmed one way or another. Gettleman explained it after the draft. There was no consensus among Giants staff as to which QB to draft. Half said Darnold and the rest chose the other QB's. Everyone agreed we drafted the best player available in the draft.
